Obama "White Paper" questioned - Award winning journalist Kenneth Timmerman has posted another article at the Daily Caller exposing the Obama Administration's misleading information on the alleged chemical attack in Syria. Obama praise for jihadist group - Barack Obama recently recorded a video greeting to members of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), a group that was exposed as a co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terrorist-financing case. ISNA is a Muslim Brotherhood front group. Obama praised ISNA on its 50th anniversary celebration for upholding "the proud legacy of American-Muslims contributions to our national fabric." Read more

Voters overwhelmingly against Syria strikes - As an NBC news crew followed one congressman while he held more than a dozen town-hall meetings, the cameras clearly showed 90% or more of voters who attended were against Obama's planned military strikes to help Islamist "rebels" take over Syria - Read more
Senator Rand Paul on Syria - Senator Paul had a few questions about those whom the United States would be helping with strikes on the Syrian government: "Are the Islamic rebels our allies? Will they defend American interests? Will they acknowledge Israel's right to exist? Will they impose Shari'a? Will they tolerate Christians, or will they pillage and destroy ancient Christian churches and people?" Read more

New Attack on "Under God" - We are once again back fighting for "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance, a battle that I thought had ended in victory in the 9th Circuit court of Appeals. In 2007 I wrote The Pledge: One Nation Under God to explain fully the history and need for having "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance to our Flag. Now a new case using the same argument that was used to legalize same-sex marriage has been filed by an "anonymous" atheist who claims his child in a public school does not want to say "under God." Morocco: Jailed for having Christian literature - In "moderate" Morocco, a young man has been sent to jail for 30 months for attending Christian meetings and having Christian materials. This is just one of the hundreds of stories of persecuted Christians that go unreported each week around the world. Persecuted Christians are of no interest to the Western media. Read more
Iran: New anti-Christian crusade - Iran's Islamic leadership has launched a public campaign to halt the rapid spread of Christianity among Iranians. Iranian intelligence services are organizing meetings aimed at debating the "conversion from Islam" and to analyze why especially Iranian youth convert to Christianity, well-informed Iranian Christians said. Chairman’s Report from Washington for July 20,2011

THE PRESIDENT, WAR, TERROR AND ISLAM

OBAMA’S VOICE OF AMERICA – The headline at the Voice of America website operated by the US government, on July 15^th, 2011 said, “Braving Scorching Heat, Egyptians Rally to Press for Reforms.” Reforms? The organizers of the demonstration, the Sharia Association of Rights and Reform, called for a million men to take to the streets accusing the “secularists” of stealing the coming elections. The Sharia Association of Rights and Reforms also stated that Islamic sharia is the majority choice for Egypt, accusing secularists and liberals of trying to outflank the true preferences of the Egyptian people with a new constitution.

The reporting on this and other Middle Eastern events by the Voice of America seems to bend the truth when it comes to Islam and particularly the Muslim Brotherhood. The Voice of America continually refers to the Muslim Brotherhood as a “moderate” organization organized around charity. Oddly, the motto of the Muslim Brotherhood says something quite the contrary:

- Allah is our objective.
- The Prophet is our leader.
- Qur’an is our law.
- Jihad is our way.
- Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.

The Voice of America is the official voice of the Obama Administration; it is not an independent news organization. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton uses the Voice of America to announce official State Department positions. Apparently the official position of the Obama Administration and the Department of State is to white wash violent Islamic organizations to justify cooperation with them.

OBAMA WANTS ARAB RATHER THAN CANADIAN OIL – Only Saudi Arabia has more recoverable oil reserves than Alberta, Canada. Unfortunately for Americans, the Obama Administration does not want oil from Alberta because it comes primarily from oil sands and Obama’s “green” supporters don’t like that fact. (Caveat: Actually the United States holds the greatest known oil reserves in the world when oil shale is included; however, Congress has barred extraction in most of these known reserve areas.) Currently Obama’s EPA is blocking the construction of a pipeline to the USA from Alberta that would bring investments of over $9 billion and create 100,000 jobs. If completed the pipeline would also bring down oil prices not only in the United States but the entire world. Simply put, out of liberal ideology, the Obama Administration and liberals in Congress are raising gas prices and putting people out of work.

Canada is currently the number one supplier of oil to the United States followed by Mexico and then Saudi Arabia. As older oil fields are depleted Canada is willing to open up its very rich oil shale fields. Obama is not interested; he would rather have American dollars flow to Arab nations that fund extremist Islam. Meanwhile the Chinese understand the value and volume of Canadian oil. Sinopec, a Chinese state-controlled oil company, has invested $5.5 billion to build the Northern Gateway Pipeline from Alberta to the Pacific Coast province of British Columbia where oil can be loaded on the Chinese tankers.

THE WEINER PROBLEM AT THE STATE DEPARTMENT – Why was President Barack Obama so eager to request that Twitter-disgraced congressman Anthony Weiner resign? Just maybe he feared the other half of the Weiner scandal would surface in the media. Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, is a very close confidante and advisor to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Abedin holds a top security clearance at the State Department, but also has open associations with the Muslim Brotherhood. It is more than likely that the decision by the Administration to recognize the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt as a legitimate organization was orchestrated by her.

Considering her associations, can Huma Abedin be trusted or is she in fact a double agent for the Muslim Brotherhood? Her mother, who lives in Saudi Arabia, is a member of The Sisterhood, which is the female version of the Muslim Brotherhood. Human Events reported that Huma Abedin’s brother—Hassan Abedin—has collaborated with Omar Naseef and Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, two of the most influential terror supporters in the world. The presence of Huma Abedin as a close advisor to the Secretary of State is in itself a statement on the position of the Obama Administration.

OBAMA, GEORGE SOROS AND THE LIBYAN “REBELS” – The foreign affairs advisor for a top U.S. lobby firm hired to represent the rebels of Libya just a few months ago was serving as President Obama’s special representative to Egypt, where he reportedly held a clandestine meeting with the Muslim Brotherhood. In addition, a public relations firm working on behalf of the rebels recently arranged a meeting for Libya’s opposition with a progressive group funded by billionaire George Soros that is known for its close relationship with the White House. There seems to be a revolving door at the White House with advisors leaving to join consulting firms that champion radical agendas.

THE CONGRESS ON RELIGIOUS FREEDOM AND TERROR

NBC APOLOGIZES TO CONGRESS FOR “UNDER GOD” FLAP- Let me say first that this would NEVER have happened if NBC was still owned by General Electric. Comcast, the new owner of NBC, has issued a formal apology to Congressman Randy Forbes (R-VA), the chairman of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, for deleting “under God” from the Pledge during the U.S. Open. Forbes and more than 100 other congressmen had written a letter to NBC complaining about the incident.

The president of Comcast, Kyle McSlarrow, said: “We have made quite clear — internally and externally — that the employees who made this decision were wrong,” he said. “Not only were countless citizens justifiably upset, but also the actions of this small group cast a negative light on NBC Universal.” He was very blunt: “It was an inexcusable mistake in judgment and it will not be repeated.” Have you read my book on the history of the Pledge of Allegiance? DON’T FUND SAME-SEX MARRIAGE IN MILITARY – Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) has offered an amendment to H.R. 2219, the Department of Defense Appropriations Act of 2012, which would prohibit the implementation of the Navy’s new guidance on same sex marriage for its chaplains. This comes after the Navy recently issued guidance to their chaplains to officiate at same-sex marriages on military bases. This was a contradiction to the Defense of Marriage Act, and so Members of Congress sent a letter urging the rescindment of this new policy forcing the Navy to halt the policy – for now. This amendment would stop any future implementation of these guidelines. Please contact your congressman for support!

 CULTURE AND RELIGION

GAYS FOR JON HUNTSMAN – I was just a little stunned when someone e-mailed me a link to a story in Q Salt Lake. The Q stands for queer and it is a gay newspaper in Salt Lake City which has semi-endorsed Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman. Rather than editorialize I will quote directly from the gay site:

“While there are no official endorsements from any caucuses or groups within the Republican Party yet, the Utah Log Cabin Republicans worked with Huntsman when he was governor, and are ready and willing to work continue that relationship,” Melvin Nimer, the president of the ULCR, said. “Huntsman was the first governor of Utah to open up the governor’s mansion to the LGBT community,” Nimer said. “They [the Huntsman campaign team] have reached out to get some help from us and some people within the group are working with him.”

Having read this glowing endorsement of Huntsman in an official “queer” site, I think I will personally reach out to a different presidential candidate.

SISTER WIVES – In 2003 the Supreme Court in Lawrence v. Texas said that no law could be passed prohibiting sodomy or any other same-sex act. Justice Scalia said the decision would be, “the end of all morals legislation.” Actually I believe Scalia was wrong: the case simply changed the morals of the nation legally. Every single law is some kind of a moral judgment. In the Lawrence case the moral line in the sand with regard to sex was moved toward sodomy and led directly to same-sex marriage and now to polygamy.

The polygamist family on the TV series “Sister Wives” has filed a lawsuit against the state of Utah, attempting to do for polygamists what the Lawrence V. Texas case mentioned above did for homosexuals. The Lawrence v. Texas case is being used as the basis of the polygamist lawsuit. American Muslim men will be the chief benefactors of a victory since Islam permits four wives. In the UK Muslim men can put their multiple wives and as many children as they can have on the welfare roles. That will be the result in the United States as well.

HONOR KILLINGS IN THE WEST – Each year thousands of young women are murdered by their fathers and brothers in the name of “honor.” Young women who have been raped are also killed because so many Muslims believe that the rape victim has “dishonored” the family by being raped. INTERNATIONAL

ISLAMISTS DEMAND TAKEOVER OF THREE UK CITIES - Islamic extremists have called on British Muslims to establish three independent states within the UK. The notorious Muslims Against the Crusades (MAC) group has named Yorkshire towns Bradford and Dewsbury, as well as Tower Hamlets in East London, as test sites for blanket sharia rule. The medieval ‘emirates’ would operate entirely outside British law, according to documents at their MAC website. But is the request that far out of line in the UK? There are now many sharia courts in the United Kingdom that operate openly and often contrary to English law in family matters. Non-Muslim policewomen are required to wear the hijab in Muslim areas. Police cannot enter some Muslim areas in London at all.

PAKISTAN CHRISTIAN SEX SLAVES – One may argue that rape is a phenomenon that affects every society, yet the fact that most of the women raped in Pakistan come from the mere 2% Christian minority speaks for itself. Moreover, if you read the individual stories of the rapes you soon learn that in every single case the Pakistani police either did nothing to apprehend the culprits or, more often, actually helped them while turning against the victims.

Even though Pakistan is not a full-blown sharia state and tries to save face in front of the international infidel–sharia has nonetheless conditioned even the police to see Christian women (infidels) as little more than objects of pleasure which Muslim men can violate at will. Still, the United States gives billions of dollars of aid each year to Pakistan despite the fact that it is a nuclear nation that targets democratic India with terror attacks.

ANOTHER MUSLIM ATTACK IN INDIA – The Indian Mujahedeen (IM), which has bragged of eight other terrorist attacks over the last four years, has claimed responsibility for the latest bombings in Mumbai (Bombay) which killed 23 and wounded many more innocent civilians on July 13^th, 2011. This was the worst Islamic terror attack in India since November, 2008 when Muslim terrorists from Pakistan entered Mumbai by sea and attacked hotels and a train station killing 164 people and wounding at least 308 innocent civilians.

Some background: India at one time was comprised of not only the current land area of India but Pakistan and Bangladesh as well. The nation was divided to accommodate Muslims who wanted their own nation in 1947. All Hindus fled south into India. Not satisfied with their own Islamic nation, Muslims now want to terrorize India in the name of Jihad. Virtually all terror attacks in India are in some way assisted by Pakistani intelligence which receives military funding from the United States. Our tax dollars at work!

IMAM SAYS: “THE WORLD BELONGS TO US” – At a Muslim Brotherhood related Internet site Egyptian Shaykh Safwat Hegazy in a recent video threatened Jews and Christians, and ultimately the whole world, saying, “Jerusalem belongs to us, and the whole world belongs to us.” He states the Islamic caliphate will return, and that “every land upon which Islam has set foot will return to us.” He makes pointed references to Qurayza and Khaybar, which are clear threats against the Jews, and also states, “we will kill anyone who has polluted the al-Aqsa Mosque.”

Hegazy is a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and has a very popular TV show, “Age of Glory,” on the al-Nas television network. During the uprising against Mubarak , he addressed crowds at Tahrir Square in Cairo. He stood directly behind Shaykh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the head of the Muslim Brotherhood, when the latter led more than one million Muslims in Tahrir Square in prayer after Mubarak stepped down. This is the group that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said she was looking forward to “working with” in Egypt.

ISLAMIC EDUCATION - On July 15^th, 2011 police in Indonesia arrested the head of the Umar Bin Khatab Islamic boarding school after a bomb exploded at the school. Police finally entered the school building after being obstructed by dozens of locals carrying sharp weapons to find bomb making manuals and materials used as “teaching aids.” Moderate Islam at its best.

THE PRESIDENCY
"DON'T CALL MY BLUFF, ERIC" - Those were the words of President Barack Obama before he stormed out a budget meeting this week. Immediately a massive media campaign, bordering on anti-Semitic, was launched by the mainstream media against Majority Leader Eric Cantor. Senator Harry Reid referred to him as "childish" and MSNBC went on what could only be described as a binge of hatred against Cantor. What did Eric Cantor do or say to cause this tantrum by President Obama and his allies? Cantor asked the President to be "specific" about what spending cuts he would agree to. The President's position is: Give me what I want now and I will let you know sometime in the future what it is I am willing do in spending cuts. Who sounds childish?

SENATE BILL ON RELIGIOUS FREEDOM - Missouri Republican Senator Roy Blunt has recently introduced the Near East and South Central Asia Religious Freedom Act of 2011 (S. 1245). The legislation would give the Secretary of State the authority to name a Special Envoy to promote the religious freedom of religious minorities in the Near East and Central Asia. The Special Envoy would be an expert in human rights and religious freedom issues and would have the rank of Ambassador. Read more

On the international front the continued slaughter of Christians in Nigeria by the Boko Haram is discussed. BOKO HARAM KILLS DAILY - On average the Islamic group, Boko Haram kills at least on innocent man, woman or child each day in Nigeria in the name of Mohammed. This week the group attacked a police station killing cops and stealing weapons. Sharia already exists in northern Nigeria but that is not enough for the group. "Boko Haram wants to establish god's kingdom on earth through Islamic institutions, and establish sharia in all the states in Nigeria," says Council on Foreign Relations' John Campbell.

RELEASE ASIA BIBI NOW - Pakistani Christians are demanding the release of Asia Bibi, mother of five, who has been falsely accused of blasphemy and jailed for nearly two years. Blasphemy laws in Pakistan are used to blackmail Christians and steal their homes and land. This is just one more outrage. More at Pakistan Christian Post

THE PRESIDENCY

BLACKBERRY TURN-IN DAY- Officially the government does not change hands until about 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 20th, but today is actually the last real day the Bush Administration has any effective control. All of my friends at various departments, such as Justice, State, Labor and even the White House were ordered to turn in their Blackberry handsets today. Although they will be paid through Tuesday, they were told not to report to work on Monday.

A FAREWELL TO GWB- When George W. Bush was sworn in as Governor of Texas in 1995 my wife Nancy and I were present in Austin, Texas. We moved the offices of the Religious Freedom Coalition to Washington, DC from Dallas, Texas shortly after that. We were also at both of George W. Bush's presidential Inaugurations, in 2001 and 2005, and in fact participated in Inaugural Balls both times. Going full circle now, we have been invited and will attend the farewell ceremony for President George W. Bush at Andrews Air Force Base on January 20th. We were not invited to any of the Inaugural Balls or other events for Barack Obama.

OBAMA'S GAY MILITARY - Barack Obama has indicated that one of his first orders as Commander-in-Chief will be to eliminate the "don't ask, don't tell" policy toward homosexuals in the military initiated by President Clinton and continued by President George W. Bush. Under the order to be issued by Obama, homosexuals will be allowed to openly flaunt their sexual encounters in the military. Why is this a problem? In a combat unit men must act as a team. When "lovers" are in the unit they watch out for each other and not the team. Read more

BUSH PROCLAMATIONS - Before leaving office, George W. Bush issued two proclamations of interest to social conservatives. He proclaimed January 18th as National Sanctity of Life Day. The March for Life will be held in Washington, DC on January 22nd, the anniversary of Roe V. Wade. President Bush could not issue a proclamation for that date because Barack Obama will be president. It is VERY doubtful that Obama will ever issue a "Sanctity of Human Life" proclamation because he simply does not believe an unborn child is a human life. President Bush also proclaimed today, January 16, 2009 as Religious Freedom Day. I do not know if these links will work after Barack Obama is sworn in.

THE CONGRESS

CLINTON GOES TO STATE - Senator Hillary Clinton was confirmed this week as Secretary of State and has already moved into her new digs in Foggy Bottom. Before she could get out of her Senate office a delegation consisting of myself, my wife Nancy, and Father Keith Roderick delivered an Iraqi Christian Coalition letter to her, asking that she assist persecuted Iraqi Christians upon becoming Secretary of State. PLEASE ACT NOW - Congressman Todd Akin is once again preparing to introduce the Pledge Protection Act which would defend "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance to our nation's flag. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has sat on the atheist lawsuit to remove "under God" from the Pledge in hopes that the Justice Department under Barack Obama will agree with them that it is unconstitutional. INAUGURAL "PIG SEX" - This is beyond disgusting. This weekend, as part of their celebration in helping to elect Barack Obama, homosexuals will hold a "pig sex" event at the Doubletree Hotel here in Washington, DC. The hotel is owned and operated by the Hilton Hotel Corporation. The acts and conduct that is advertised at their Internet site cannot be reproduced here, but I can say that the activities make those in Biblical Sodom look mild in comparison. THE PEOPLE SAY: "DEBT IS THE PROBLEM" - A new poll indicates that 80% of Americans believe that the problem with the economy is government and personal debt. Read more. Personally I believe that a tax structure that promotes use of debt rather than equity led to the meltdown in 2008. Rather than sell stock, companies borrowed funds to expand. No interest needs to be paid to those who invest in stock, but a bond holder wants his interest payments regularly. Every one of the corporate bankruptcy filings, including that of Circuit City and others, came about because they could not make interest payments on a huge debt load.

The President IRAQI REFUGEES AND THE STATE DEPARTMENT- Inside the Beltway, the State Department is referred to as "Foggy Bottom," partly because of the building location, but mostly because of the logic by which it operates. On Monday, December 2nd, members of our fact finding team who had traveled to the Middle East met with Assistant Secretary Sauerbrey and seven fairly high ranking members of her department concerning a draft of our report on the condition of Iraqi refugees in Jordan and Lebanon. Secretary Sauerbrey is a George W. Bush political appointee to the State Department; the rest of those present were "career" officers. While the Secretary was present, the tone of the meeting was conciliatory, and it appeared that progress was being made. Upon her departure from the room, the tone quickly changed to one of an aggressive defense of status quo policy. Ninety-nine percent of State Department employees, including most ambassadors, are "career" people who have their own agendas while working under various presidents. Often their own agendas and desire to protect their careers overshadows the will of the political leaders of the nation. Unlike career professionals in the Armed Forces, those at State rarely are obedient to the desires of the elected political leaders of this nation. THE RACE FOR 2008 - The establishment media anointed two candidates for the presidential election next fall: Republican Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Democrat Hillary Clinton, both New York liberals. Despite pounding away at Americans night and day, the elite media bosses just can't seem to get their candidates to stay on top. Despite nearly constant attacks by the conservative Wall Street Journal and the far left including the New York Times and CNN, the candidacy of Mike Huckabee continues to soar. One national poll had him tied for first place. Virtually the entire Republican establishment here in Washington fears and hates this man, probably because he speaks honesty about his beliefs.

THE HOUSE

WHAT ARE iPS CELLS?- Social conservative, pro-life Members of Congress are on the attack against embryonic stem cell funding since scientists announced the recent breakthrough with iPS cells. Induced pluripotent stem cells are created from human skin cells and there is no need to kill a human embryo to obtain them. Most scientists admit the use of iPS cells means that cures will be developed faster, and in fact there is already one major breakthrough.

CONSERVATIVES MOVE ON iPS CELLS - The "Patients First Act" offered by Rep. Randy Forbes (R-VA) and Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-IL) would prioritize funding for iPS cell research at such time as the research demonstrates potential for patient benefit. Pro-life Members and groups support the "Patients First Act" because it encourages stem cell research that is most likely to provide near term treatments for patients while also respecting the dignity of all human life beginning at the earliest stages. THE SENATE

IN GOD WE TRUST - Senator Sam Brownback introduced legislation this week to move the inscription, "In God We Trust" from the edge of the new one dollar coins to the front of them. Brownback said, "Since the colonial beginnings of the United States, citizens of this nation have officially acknowledged their dependence on God. It is important that our national motto, 'In God We Trust,' is prominently displayed on all of our currency." Brownback earlier this week met with officials from the United States Treasury to discuss moving the national motto from the side of one dollar coins to the face. Presidential one dollar coins are the only U.S. coins currently being issued by the National Mint that have inscriptions along the edge. Contact you Senator about S-2417

"HATE CRIMES DROPPED - FOR NOW - I was on a national Christian radio program Friday when it was announced that Ted Kennedy's pro-gay Hate Crimes legislation had been "barred by Congress." If that is what you heard forget about it. Ted Kennedy's pro-gay legislation was simply dropped from the Defense Authorization bill because at the conference committee level it was determined that there were not enough votes in the House for his Senate version to pass. Next week Kennedy could add this vile legislation onto the Health and Human Services (HHS Authorization), or for that matter any bill dealing with employment or law enforcement. The battle is far from over and now is not the time to declare victory. We must remain vigilant to stop Ted Kennedy's anti-family agenda.

ATHEIST NEWDOW IN COURT- On Tuesday, December 4, 2007 the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals heard arguments from atheist Michael Newdow's latest lawsuit to have "under God" removed from the Pledge to our flag. Only one of the three judge panel appeared to side with the government in the case. I expect the panel to side with Newdow in outlawing "under God" in the Pledge. OUR MEETING AT STATE - At the December 2, 2007 meeting with Secretary Sauerbrey, our fact finding team learned for the first time that there is a Jordanian-American staffer at the embassy in Amman tasked with the duty of "refugee liaison." However, when we were in Jordan, Ambassador Hale told us flatly that no one was actually meeting with refugees outside the Embassy walls. One of his staff, the USAID officer, told us "It isn't our job to go to church." Not a single church leader or member of the refugee community we met with had ever met this individual and did not know of the person's existence. Perhaps this individual was meeting with UNHCR, CARITAS, and other NGO's. But, to the knowledge of church leaders in the refugee community there was no contact with this individual. Several weeks after our departure from Jordan our team received reports from church leaders saying the Embassy had begun to have contacts with the refugee community.

When we departed from the meeting on Monday we were all very concerned about the "on paper" presence of the officer tasked with refugee liaison verses the personal witness of virtually every church leader in Jordan including Catholic, Orthodox and evangelical. EXPERT: CHRISTIANS VANISHING IN BETHLEHEM - Speaking at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, International human rights lawyer Justus Weiner this week said, "The systematic persecution of Christian Arabs living in Palestinian areas is being met with nearly total silence by the international community, human rights activists, the media and NGOs," He cited Muslim harassment and persecution and said there was an "acute human rights crisis" facing Christian Arabs. He predicted that there will be no more Christian communities in Palestinian controlled territories within 15 years and that only a few token Western Christian clergymen would be in the area.
