PRESIDENCY 

OBAMA IGNORES GENOCIDE - Intelligence agencies have furnished compelling information to President Barrack Obama that the Muslim government of the Sudan is killing thousands of Christians in the Nuba Mountains. Mass murdering dictator Omar Hassan al-Bashir is moving 14 trucks loaded with chemical weapons to the Nuba Mountains in preparation for mass murder. Al-Bashir was charged with genocide by an international tribunal because of his actions in Darfur where he killed other Muslims, but Europe and the United States do not seem to have a problem when the victims of mass murder are Christians. Obama, who has supported the "Arab Spring" in Egypt, Libya and elsewhere, does not seem bothered by the wholesale murder of Christians in Africa.

NO "HOSTILITIES" IN LIBYA? - The daily bombings of Tripoli by our military, the attacks on the Libyan army and the tens of millions of dollars spent on munitions do not constitute "hostilities" and as a result, says President Obama, he does not have to seek authority to continue the war there under the War Powers Act. "It's bizarre that the administration has sent over a letter yesterday referring to the fact that we're not involved in hostilities in Libya," Senator Corker, (R-TN), said on the Senate floor. "I mean it's really totally bizarre when you look at what's going on right now in the air in Libya right now." Senator McCain, (R-AZ)., called yesterday's report from the administration a "confusing breach of common sense," and a "puzzling assertion." Senator Corker and Senator Jim Webb, (D-VA) introduced a bill requiring a "detailed justification" of the US operation in Libya from the administration. Even Democrats are astonished at Obama's disregard for Congressional oversight.

THE CONGRESS 

INTERSTATE ABORTION BAN - CIANA, the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act, would prohibit a person who is not a parent knowingly taking a minor across state lines with the intent of obtaining an abortion, if it evades a parental involvement law in the minor's home state. CIANA also requires abortionists to notify parents at least 24 hours before performing an abortion on an out-of-state minor. The bill in the past has been introduced in both the House and Senate, but has failed under Democrat leaders. Senators Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) are sponsoring the bill in the Senate. Although the bill will no be filed until June 21, please contact your Senators now and ask them to co-sponsor CIANA.

BLOCK PRO-ABORTION JUDGE - Both Republican Senators from Kansas, Pat Roberts and Jerry Moran, oppose the nomination of Steve Six by President Obama to the U.S. Court of Appeals. Pro-abortion former Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius appointed Six to district judge in 2005, and then appointed him as a replacement state Attorney General in 2007. During his time as Attorney General, rather than enforcing laws against late term abortions, Six actually assisted abortionists. Read the details at Kansans for Life. THE WEINER HOUSE - When Anthony Weiner announced his resignation at a Senior Center in New York and some New Yorkers present actually cheered. Democrat leaders on Capitol Hill including Nancy Pelosi were relieved that the disturbed radical left congressman with sex twitting issues was gone. Anthony Weiner was best known nationally for his vicious personal attacks on Republicans, particularity women and Jews. Weiner, who claimed to be a Jew is married to a Muslim. Since no Rabbi would officiate his wedding it was done by none other than former President Bill Clinton. That along probably doomed the marriage.

RELIGION AND CULTURE 

ATHEIST NEWDOW DEFEATED AGAIN -This week the Supreme Court rejected atheist activist Michael Newdow's latest lawsuit challenging the words "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance, this time after he lost in the First Circuit Count of Appeals in Boston. In March, the Supreme Court rejected Newdow's appeal from his loss in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. In the book I present the arguments for "under God" in the Pledge and debunk Newdow's claims.

SEVENTH GRADERS FORCED TO TAKE SEX SURVEY - Seventh graders in a Massachusetts school were asked, "Have you ever had oral sex?" in a survey that had other graphic language which I cannot repeat here. The students were asked what they used to prevent pregnancy in their "last sexual encounter." The school admits it was graphic but says they had to administer it as part of a grant from the Department of Education. The Rutherford Institute is filing a complaint on behalf of the mother of two girls attending the Fitchburg School District. Read more

UK ATHEIST SPEAKS OUT ON 'CULTURAL TERRORISM' - In the United States, atheists, gays, liberal professors and feminists all line up to support Islam and sharia law. Oddly, these are the first groups that will be either beheaded, hung or stoned to death in a Muslim takeover. Huffpost and the rest of the liberal media are all for Islam and sharia law simply because conservatives oppose a dual legal system in the United States that would weaken the Constitution. Whatever conservatives are against, the left must be for. However, the liberals in the United Kingdom are starting to feel the whip of Islam. One atheist who has stood consistently against the Islamization of Britain is Pat Condell and he is not afraid to criticize his fellow liberals. RELEASE ASIA BIBI NOW - Pakistani Christians are demanding the release of Asia Bibi, mother of five, who has been falsely accused of blasphemy and jailed for nearly two years. PRESIDENCY

"THE JEWS SHOULD LOVE ME" SYNDROME - There was unmistakable hatred in the eyes of President Barack Obama as he listened to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu speak during an Oval Office press conference. The President maintained a glaring stare and sneer on his face as the Prime Minister refused to ethnically cleanse 400,000 Jews from their homes and move them into a nation that would be less than nine miles wide, under Obama's terms. Yet Obama undoubtedly saw the Prime Minister's brave defense of his small nation as insubordination. Liberals such as Barack Obama view all minorities as Democrat Party property. These individuals are supposed to support liberal policies simply because of their race, sex or ethnicity. As a Jew, Prime Minister Netanyahu is expected to follow the current liberal line even if it means the destruction of Israel.

THE CONGRESS 

PROTECTING LIFE AND MARRIAGE IN THE MILITARY -
1. Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) offered an amendment to the Defense Authorization bill (H.R. 1540) that states that only those marriage ceremonies which conform to the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) can take place on military installations. DOMA defines marriage as a union of one man and one woman. The Department of the Navy had recently given permission for chaplains to perform same-sex marriages, but quickly reversed itself after congressional pressure.

2. Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) also offered an amendment to the Defense Authorization bill on "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" that would require all four military service chiefs to certify that gays in the military won't impact combat readiness or effectiveness before that White House policy allowing open homosexuality is adopted.

3. Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-M) offered an amendment to the same Defence Authorization bill that emphasizes DOMA in the military. The amendment defines marriage as a one man, one woman union for the military. All three of these military-related amendments passed out of committee and should be retained in the DoD bill.  
PRO-ISRAEL RESOLUTIONS - In response to President Barack Obama's demand that Israel return to pre-1967 borders that are not defendable, resolutions supporting Israel were introduced in the House by Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-T) and in the Senate by Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah. See Gohmert's video statement
JEWISH CHAPLAINS MEMORIAL - Congress has authorized a Jewish Chaplains Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. Although 13 Jewish chaplains have died while on active duty, there is no memorial in their honor. Groups have been working to change that, and have raised private funds to pay for the memorial, designed the memorial, and now have Congressional authorization from the House needed to erect the memorial. The final vote on H.R. 1627 was 380 to zero with 51 present/not voting.

RELIGION AND CULTURE 
SOCIAL CONSERVATIVES SUPPORT ISRAEL - Leaders of groups representing tens of millions of Americans including American Family Association, Reclaiming America, the Religious Freedom Coalition and others ran full page newspaper and TV ads supporting Israel after the inflammatory statements of President Barack Obama. Under the banner of Israel, You're Not Alone the coalition of organizations met with congressional leaders in Washington this week. ATHEIST NEWDOW LAWSUIT KICKED OUT - The Supreme Court rejected atheist Michael Newdow's case challenging "So Help Me God" in the Presidential Oath. This is the second case this year that Newdow has lost at the Supreme Court level. The Court also refused to hear Newdow's case challenging "In God We Trust" on U.S. currency.
SEX CHANGE FOR SEVEN-YEAR-OLDS? - Dr. Norman Spack is a pediatrician who has opened a clinic at Boston Children's Hospital to treat kids as young as seven years old who are "confused about their gender identity." Instead of counseling the youngsters to help them gain confidence in their own God-given biological gender, Dr. Spack and his associates, and the pathetic excuses for parents who bring their children to this clinic, are engaged in something much more disturbing. ACLU DEFENDS SHARIA - The ACLU, which was among the first to, in their words, "applaud and congratulate" efforts to build the Ground Zero Mosque, is also among the foremost defenders of sharia law in America. The ACLU has mounted an offensive against the fifteen states which have adopted or are considering the adoption of legislation to ban sharia and other foreign or international laws from being considered in their courts. MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD: SHARIA FOR EGYPT - A Muslim Brotherhood leader declared that Islamic Sharia Law would be imposed in Egypt if they come to power. Sobhi Saleh, a Muslim Brotherhood leader, claimed Sharia would protect not only Muslims but also those non-Muslims who pay the Jizya (protection money). Obama plans on giving more than $1 billion this year to Egypt. Read more

CHRISTIAN SISTERS KIDNAPPED AND FORCED TO MARRY MUSLIMS - In Faisalabad, Pakistan a powerful Muslim businessman, with the help of a group of accomplices, kidnapped two Christian sisters, forced them to convert to Islam and marry him. The girl's father reported the kidnapping to the police but the police blocked investigations by reversing the facts: they said the daughters fled because of their father's violence. A priest from the diocese of Faisalabad points out that the kidnapping of young women has become "common practice", because the authorities and police are "puppets in the hands of extremists." THE PRESIDENCY
JUST SHY OF HARRIET MIERS - When President George W. Bush nominated long time political ally and White House attorney Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court virtually every one on Capitol Hill including conservatives gasped. While a very nice person who was conservative and pro-life, Harriet Miers just did not have the judicial experience to become a Supreme Court Justice. Some compare President Obama's pick of Elena Kagan to that of Harriet Miers, but there is just one problem with that: Miers had more legal experience than Kagan. Virtually all of Elena Kagan's experience is academic in nature. Her main qualification is that she was a close buddy of Barak Obama at the Harvard School of Law. This is not an appointment of a qualified contender for such a high post, it is simple political pay back to an old friend. Forget about the fact that Kagan is a radical pro-abortion feminist who hates the military, she is simply too inexperienced. It takes more than reading ACLU one pagers to become a Justice. FORMER MUSLIM SAYS OBAMA HURTING PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS - Obama says he seeks a dialogue with the Muslim world, but he has done nothing to protect the oppressed Christians, Sabatina James told the Christian Post. She has moved several times in the past few years seeking shelter from being murdered for converting from Islam. "You (President Obama) are saying these things about the prophet [Muhammad] but why don't you protect [Christians]? You're a Christian and have such influence," she said about Obama's speech in Cairo. James book, My Fight for Faith and Freedom is a bestseller in Germany. She has moved 16 times since 2001 because of death threats. Read more in the Christian Post
WASHINGTON POST PRO-RELIGIOUS FREEDOM? Thomas Farr wrote a piece in the Washington Post titled, "Obama at the crossroads on religious liberty." In the article he quoted Leonard Leo, chairman of the Commission on International Religious Freedom as saying: "If the United States cares about human rights, if we value international stability, if we are concerned about countering extremism, freedom of religion ... must be a critical component of our nation's diplomacy, national security and economic development objectives." Farr said that the Obama administration 'should pay close attention to these words as it decides how to position its own religious freedom policy.' This was an extremely important article that highlighted the abuses of religious minorities and women in Muslim nations and I highly recommend it. Read Farr article here. The posted responses to Farr's article are interesting as they are mostly from the liberals who read the Washington Post. The responses are an open window into the very strange mind set of liberals who see enforcing US immigration laws as racist but stoning women to death in Saudi Arabia as a normal cultural activity.

TEN COMMANDMENTS WEEKEND - For several years I have been working with Ron Wexler of the Ten Commandments Commission to officially declare the first weekend in May as Ten Commandments Weekend. For this purpose we have been working with various members of Congress. This year Congressman Paul Broun and 24 other congressmen co-sponsored H. Res. 1175 which "Celebrates the significant role the Ten Commandments have played in the development of public and private U.S. institutions," and "Encourages citizens of all faiths and religious persuasions to reflect on the impact that the Ten Commandments have had on the people and national character of the United States." Although it was not passed in time for this May, we can get it passed for next year. Please contact your congressman and ask him to contact Congressman Broun and co-sponsor H. Res 1175. CANTOR STARTS "YOUCUT" SITE - Congressman Eric Cantor, the Republican Whip, is posting each week outrageous expenditures by our government and asking Americans to vote on dumping them from the budget. WATCH PENNSYLVANIA TUESDAY- This coming Tuesday, May 18th, there are primary elections in Arkansas, Kentucky, Oregon and Pennsylvania. So far in May a Republican Senator and a Democrat congressman have been booted out by their own party's voters. This could happen again in Pennsylvania if the Democrats reject turn-coat former Republican Senator Arlene Specter who is now trailing a liberal congressman. The same day there is a special election for the seat of deceased congressman John Murtha. Despite the fact that the district is 2 to 1 Democrat the polls show that Republican businessman Tim Burns could win the seat. 
 

CULTURE AND RELIGION

ATHEISTS CAN'T STOP INAUGURAL PRAYERS- Atheists, led by the notorious Michael Newdow have lost another round in the courts in their efforts to stop prayer and other religious elements during presidential inaugurations. This week a three-judge panel of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia upheld the dismissal of the atheist lawsuit that would have stopped Chief Justice Roberts from using the words "so help me God" in the inaugural oath. The atheists also wanted to stop ministers from praying at inaugurations. See Baptist Press

INTERNATIONAL

MORE PERSECUTION IN IRAQ - At the beginning of May buses carrying Christian students were bombed near Mosul killing four and wounding more than 150. No action has been taken by authorities. The Assyrian News Agency is reporting that there is now a coordinated effort to drive Christians from the Mosul area by Muslim terrorist organizations. Of the 1,000,000 Christians in Iraq at the beginning of 2003 when the current war began only 400,000 remain and many of those have been driven from their homes. An IPS report details the plight of Christians who have fled Iraq completely an now live in Syria, Jordan and Lebanon. (Note, there are some factual errors in the IPS report because most Iraqi Christian refugees do not register for fear of deportation. Including "undocumented" refugees there are over 100,000 Iraqi Christians in Jordan.)

THE PRESIDENCY

NOTHING HAPPENED IN NIGERIA? - Journalists counted more than 500 bodies of Christians after a bloody attack by Muslims in central Nigeria. One mass grave in Dogo Na Hawa contains 332 Christians who were buried on Monday according to the Nigerian Red Cross. Although Nigeria is half Christian, it has a Muslim president. Officially the government police claim that only 109 died and say it was a reprisal for Muslim cattle being killed in January. Actually there were more than 300 Christians killed in January in the same area. President Obama has no comment on the massacre of Christians. Instead he is preparing for a trip to Muslim Indonesia where he is expected to make another speech thanking Islam for its great contributions to civilization.  
OBAMA'S MARCH OF FOLLY - Everything is being ignored at the White House to concentrate on forcing the Democrat Party controlled Congress to pass Obama Care. The threat of Iranian nukes has been forgotten, our allies are ignored, and the unemployment situation goes to the back of the bus. Obama has even delayed his apology tour to Indonesia by three days to concentrate on talking to members of his own party in the House to vote for Obama Care. Two highly regarded Democrat pollsters had this to say in the Washington Post: "Their blind persistence in the face of reality threatens to turn this political march of folly into an electoral rout in November." THE CONGRESS

TEN COMMANDMENTS RESOLUTION COMING - The language for the new Ten Commandments Weekend resolution has been completed and was filed by Congressman Paul Broun (R-GA) today. Ron Wexler of the Ten Commandments Commission and I have been working with various congressional offices for weeks to prepare a resolution. Ten Commandments Weekend is the first weekend in May and will coincide with the May Day 2010, a day of repentance and prayer to be held at the Lincoln Memorial. Please contact your congressman and ask for his support  
HOUSE AT A DEAD STOP - Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has canceled virtually all committee hearings to have her "team" work full time in getting the votes for taking over one sixth of the American economy with Obama Care. Not even in war time has the entire process of the House been nearly shut down to work on one bill. Democrats have over a forty seat majority and it is her own party that seems not to want to go along with her "march of folly" toward the cliff. Meanwhile the nation's business is being ignored.
"WE WANT PAID ABORTIONS" - Pro-life Democrat Bart Stupak, (D-MI) was told by committee Chairman Waxman that the leadership does want to fund abortion in a national health care plan. On a radio show Stupak recited a conversation between the two men: "I gave him the language. He came back a little while later and said, 'But we want to pay for abortions.' I said, 'Mr. Chairman, that's -- we disagree. We don't do it now, we're not going to start.' "'But we think (we) should,'" Stupak said Waxman told him. Read more

Speaker Polosi now thinks she has bought off enough congressmen to pass Obama Care without Stupak and his pro-lifers. She is scheduling a vote for next week.

CULTURE AND RELIGION

VICTORY FOR "IN GOD WE TRUST" - The decision by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled that the national motto, "In God We Trust," does not violate the U.S. Constitution, is a victory in the fight to halt the continuing destruction of our nation's religious heritage. This is a victory to savor considering the far left tendencies of the Court. Atheist Michael Newdow who brought the suit against the national motto, also lost a previous court battle against the words "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance. The Pledge case remains in that Court.  
JIHAD JANE - A Pennsylvania woman known to authorities as "JihadJane" was charged in federal court this week with using the Internet to recruit jihadist fighters. CHRISTIANS SLAUGHTERED IN NIGERIA -The Muslims came in the middle of the night and fired guns into the air. When the women and children ran from their homes they were slaughtered with machetes. Pregnant women, children and infants were not spared. President Bill Clinton sprang into action and bombed Christian Serbia for weeks when less was done to Muslims in that nation. Eventually, a part of Christian Serbia was taken to provide an independent Muslim nation in Europe. But, when Christians are massacred there seems not to be much interest in Washington, DC. OBAMA'S PAYBACK TO HOMOSEXUALS - This week Barack Obama signed the Defense Authorization Bill that included special rights and protections for homosexuals. The bill authorized grants of $100,000 to investigate hate crimes, the grants to be given to local and "tribal" law enforcement agencies. Careful reading reveals the following: A local agency only gets additional grant funds if it is investigating a "hate crime." There will now be a huge spike in "hate crime" investigations as local agency that are cash strapped try to get the funds. Homosexuals were given the special protections and rights in the Defense Authorization as a payback by Obama for the many millions of dollars donated to him, much of it illegally, by homosexual groups. OBAMA THE GOLF GUY - President George W. Bush suffered from media attacks for participating in any recreational activity while our troops were in harm's way. There has been virtually no news media reports on the 24 golf outings by Obama. Even less attention has been paid to the identities of those who play golf with him, such as UBS America's CEO Robert Wolf. (UBS is a Swiss Bank) The CEO had raised half a million dollars for Obama and his bank got a sweetheart deal with the IRS. Obama has also given the keys to the White House bowling alley to his top donors, and he watched a 3-D movie with them in the White House movie theater. Read more

THE CONGRESS

A TRILLION HERE, A TRILLION THERE - This week, left wing radical Speaker Nancy Pelosi unveiled yet another "health reform" bill in the House. This one is almost 2,000 pages long and sort of merges three previous bills that passed different committees in the House. The cost to taxpayers is "only" a trillion dollars, (and that's if all the savings the bill estimates actually come to pass, which no rational person believes). One underlying concept of the bill is that demand on medical services will not increase once the government begins to subsidize medical insurance. Remember cash for clunkers? When the government gave out checks for $4,500 to individuals to buy cars, demand increased 10%. But the Pelosi bill assumes no increased demand if government subsidizes health insurance. Is this a joke? 
PELOSI'S ABORTION BILL - Late-term abortionist Leroy Carhart was standing with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi when she announced her new "health care" bill. He wants to make sure that there will be taxpayer-funded abortions, including partial birth abortions. Few understand that the United States is one of only a handful of nations in which abortion is a major industry. Germany has one-third the abortions as does the United States, and late term abortions are virtually impossible to obtain in Europe. Read more
ABOUT CASH FOR CLUNKERS - Remember those $4,500 checks to buy new cars this past summer? A new estimate shows the actual cost per "clunker" taken off the road was $24,000 each! Edmunds.com found that of the 690,00 cars sold during the program only 125,000 sales were caused by the rebates. The rest of sales were because of accidents, lease returns and folks that just happened to be lucky enough to have the government money available when they traded their car. So the $3 billion was actually only causing the sales of 125,000 cars. Read more

RADICAL MUSLIMS vs. FBI IN MICHIGAN SHOOT OUT - On Wednesday, the FBI fatally shot Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah when he refused to surrender during a raid on Ummah facilities. More than a dozen were arrested. The Imam preached that criminal acts were acceptable if they advanced Islam. He urged his followers to support Al Qaeda, the Taliban and Hezbollah and that all infidels (us!) must live under Muslim rule. Dawud Walid, head of CAIR's (Council on American-Islamic Relations) Michigan branch, defended Abdullah, calling him a "respectable imam in the Muslim community." The Obama Administration sees CAIR as a moderate Islamic organization and its leaders are frequently invited to Administration functions. The shoot out was not much more than fleeting news in the "mainstream media." Read more  
JEWS SHOT AT LOS ANGELES SYNAGOGUE - Yes, it was in the news very briefly. The police "think" it may have been a "hate crime." Two Jewish men where shot in the legs on the steps of a Los Angeles synagogue. I can't find a single news outlet where this story is featured ... you sort of have to dig for it. Just imagine if this would have been a "gay night club." Obama would have sent scores of FBI agents and it would be front page news in the New York Times and Washington Post ... but, they were "just" Jews. Read Fox story
VIDAL SAYS 13 YEAR OLD RAPE VICTIM A "HOOKER" - I know there are some sane people in Hollywoood because I have met them. For example there are Chuck Norris, Ben Stein, Pat Boone, Kathy Ireland, and Rick Schroeder. But let's face it, most of Hollywood is flat out nuts and Gore Vidal proves it. In an interview he defended Roman Polanski's drug-rape of a 13-year-old girl claiming she was really a "hooker." This comes a few days after he said in a TV interview that he wanted to murder President George W. Bush. ABC, CBS, CNN and NBC oddly don't see anything about his comments that they can complain about. We live in a very ill society. Read more

NEWDOW AND UNDER GOD - Atheist Michael Newdow has appealed his loss in New Hampshire federal district court to the First Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston. Newdow wants to overturn Chief Judge Steven McAuliffe's decision in favor of "under God" in the Pledge in the Hanover, New Hampshire public schools. Lower courts have ruled that the words "under God" do not violate the Constitution. AFGHAN GIRLS SET THEMSELVES ON FIRE - NBC News reported on a horror which is common in Islamic nations without once mentioning Islam. Young girls, sometimes as young as eleven years old, who are forced into polygamist marriages, set themselves on fire because they are treated as slaves. Once disfigured they believe the husbands will discard them for another pre-teen or teen. Our brave men and women are fighting to uphold an Afghan constitution that allows polygamy, the slavery of young girls, and the death penalty for those who convert to Christianity.See NBC clip here. Polygamy is the driving force behind Jihad. In many Muslim nations up to 50% of the men cannot find wives because of polygamy. These are the recruits for Jihad.  
IRAQI CHRISTIAN REFUGEES - The persecution of our brothers and sisters in Christ who fled Iraq has gotten worse since our troops left the cities. Rather than Christians returning to Iraq, more are making their way to Jordan and Syria. Our ministry is barred from operating in Syria, but our feeding and medical program continues in Jordan. A third shipment of medical supplies has been delivered, and last week we funded our feeding program in Amman for another three months. Your help is still needed.
SPECIAL IRAQI UPDATE - Our ministry partner from Jordan will be in Washington, DC in November, and arrangements have been made to visit several congressional offices. We will also prepare a large shipment of medical supplies to be sent back to the clinic we support in Jordan, enough to last through November and December. THE PRESIDENCY

OBAMA, LINCOLN'S BIBLE AND THE ATHEISTS - Atheist Michael Newdow and 17 other individuals, and also 10 atheist groups, filed a lawsuit to block the use of the words, "so help me God" and other religious references in the president's oath of office, invocation and benediction. "There can be no purpose for placing 'so help me God' in an oath or sponsoring prayers to God, other than promoting the particular point of view that God exists," the lawsuit states. President-elect Obama has chosen to be sworn in with his hand on the Bible used for the inauguration of the first Republican president, Abraham Lincoln. Read more.

RICK WARREN, OBAMA, GAYS AND THE RIGHT - While homosexual groups are attacking Barack Obama for picking mega church pastor Rick Warren to give the benediction at the Inauguration, right wing groups are attacking Rick Warren for accepting the invitation. Apparently , homosexual activists and conservative evangelical Christians have at least one belief in common -- that Rick Warren and Barack Obama should not be seen together on the same platform. THE CONGRESS

HOUSE AND SENATE IN RECESS - The Senate will reconvene on January 6, 2009 and on January 8th will count the electoral ballots submitted by the states to certify the election of Barack Obama as President of the United States. Two states may be missing one vote each on that day -- Illinois and Minnesota. The disgraced governor of Illinois has appointed Roland Burris as a replacement for Barack Obama, but the Illinois Attorney General refuses to certify Burris, and Democrat Senate leaders say they will reject him. The Minnesota seat is even more contentious. Because some pro-life groups refused to support Senator Norm Coleman because he was only 99% pro-life, now an absolute pro-death, pro-abortion, pro-euthanasia, foul mouthed comedian may get the seat. State authorities have been recounting the ballots over and over again for weeks since the November election and the battle may now go to the courts, with no one being seated.

HAMAS, WHICH NEVER STOPPED FIRING, DECLARES END OF CEASE FIRE - HAMAS leader Khaled Mash'al made the following statement: "The tahdiah ['calm'] was limited to six months, ending on December 19. It should be noted that the enemy did not comply with the terms of the tahdiah, and that the siege still pressures our people. Therefore, we in Hamas, and I think most of the [other] forces, [say] loud and clear that after December 19, 2008, the tahdiah will end, and will not be renewed." After uttering these words HAMAS once again began to fire rockets at schools, hospitals and other civilian targets in Israel. Israel, fed up with the attacks, has retaliated by killing over 400 in Gaza including high ranking HAMAS terrorist commanders. The Western press has attacked Israel saying that its attack on military targets was not "proportionate" to the small number of Israeli civilians killed. Read more.
