The Presidency Priest says Obama does not understand Egypt - "Obama does not appear to understand the situation. This must absolutely be made clear: the Muslim Brothers are terrorists, and are tied to groups belonging to Al Qaeda and to the Salafites. The history of the Muslim Brotherhood, ever since their foundation, has been a history of 85 years of bloodshed." Read more
Obama military being cleansed of Christians - Christian service members are now being forced into the closet for their views on homosexuality and so-called "gay" marriage. Their fundamental rights to free speech and freedom of religion are being routinely trumped by homosexual activists in the military. Their careers are being destroyed because they uphold biblical truths about homosexual behaviors. Air Force Senior Master Sergeant Phillip Monk, a 19-year veteran who served in Iraq as a medic, has been punished for his Christian beliefs over homosexuality by his lesbian commander Major Elisa Valenzuela. White House jokes about attacks on Christians - The White House's deputy press secretary today downplayed Muslim attacks on Christians in Egypt, joking about the savagery that has left at least six Christians dead. Read more
Congress
Senator condemns attacks on Coptic Christians - Amid continued deadly violence directed against Coptic Christians and other civilians in Egypt, U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) called for Congress to pass bipartisan legislation aimed at promoting and protecting religious freedoms throughout the region. Not a single Democrat congressman or Senator has made a statement critical of the slaughter of Christians in Egypt. Read more
Congress in recess - The House will return on September 9th as per the schedule posted at the beginning of the year by Leader Cantor. Because Senate Leader Harry Reid is nuts, there is no telling when the Senate will reconvene, or if they will do anything when they do reconvene.
Religion and Culture
Reeducation camps for Christians? - According to a recent comment by Brad Avakian, Oregon's Labor Commissioner, business owners like Melissa and Aaron Klein of Sweet Cakes bakery should be "rehabilitated" out of their religious beliefs. The Kleins have said their religious beliefs were the reason for refusing to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding. Read more
Terrorist Assistance And Facilitation Act - Retired Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) agent Michael W. Cutler says that the so-called "comprehensive immigration reform" proposals in Congress should be more accurately described as the "Terrorist Assistance And Facilitation Act." He said, "If an Islamic terrorist walked into an immigration office and if we didn't have his finger prints on file and claimed his name is 'Donald Duck,' how would we know better? Read more

Egypt: Documented attacks on Christians - Violent aggression by Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamists, including those sympathetic to al-Qaeda, continues to be directed at one of the world's oldest Christian communities, following the military's break up last week of Brotherhood sit-ins. The Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party has been inciting the anti-Christian pogroms on its web and Facebook pages. Read more
Egypt: Coptic Pope calls MB terrorists - Christians in majority Muslim nations face horrid persecution and their leaders do not speak out for hear of even greater reprisals. The persecution reached the level in Egypt under the Muslim Brotherhood that staying quit was no longer an option. Now leaders such as Pope Tawadros II are exposing the terror they face and bitterly complaining that the Western media ignores the plight of Christians. Read more
Syria: The chemical attacks that weren't - Several hours before the alleged chemical attack by the Syrian government this past week the "opposition" began posting pictures of the dead. Claiming 1,700 dead while showing older photos of twenty people being buried caused France and other Western leaders to demand "action." Meanwhile the mass killing of Christians continue in Nigeria with no comment from Obama or any other Western leader. Read more
Australia: Out of context? - Radical Imam calls for death of Hindus and Buddhists - "Listen, oh Obama, oh enemy of Allah, you who kiss the shoes and feet of the Jews. Listen! The day will come when you are trampled upon by the pure feet of the Muslims.

The Presidency
Obama's gay inauguration - The only religious leader scheduled for Obama's second inauguration, a pastor from Georgia, has now been forced to withdraw. What was the crime of Pastor Louis Giglio? It seems that back in the 1990's, he once delivered a sermon against homosexually. Obama picked a Cuban-American "gay poet" named Richard Blanco to serve as "Inaugural Poet." Meanwhile Newsweek magazine pictured Obama on the cover as "the first gay president." Read more
The new Cabinet members - Obama has appointed several controversial men to his cabinet. The main lightning rod so far is his pick for Secretary of Defense, former two term GOP Senator Chuck Hagel, who is a decorated Vietnam veteran. Critics point to his many anti-Israel and pro-Iranian statements, but miss the point. The White House makes the policy and the Cabinet members just follow that policy. Hagel was picked because of his positions, not in spite of them, and critics should be more vocal in pointing out that fact.
Obama's Syria problem - The jihadists President Obama supports in Syria appear to be losing ground to the Syrian army on all fronts and this is a serious problem for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, who are attempting to cleanse the Middle East of secular governments. News agencies are reporting that jihadists have withdrawn from many of the suburban areas of Damascus they once controlled and have moved north to areas where they can receive NATO supplies from Turkey.
Congress
Congressman against Obama's tanks and jets for Egypt - President Barack Obama knows full well that the tanks and jets he is sending to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt will eventually be used against Israel but has cleared the sale anyway. Congressman Vern Buchanan (R-FL) has joined the chorus of critics asking Obama to stop the shipments of 20 American F-16 fighter jets and 200 Abrams tanks to Egypt. "Simply put, the U.S. should not be providing military assistance to a regime that supports Hamas and is looking more and more like a dictatorship than a trustworthy democracy," Buchanan wrote.
Religion and Culture
More taxpayer money, more abortions - Planned Parenthood reported receiving record taxpayer funding in the last reporting year, while also performing a record number of abortions, according to its new annual report released this week. The nation's largest abortion provider maintained its infamous title, performing 333,964 abortions-a record for the organization that received 45 percent of its revenues from taxpayer-funded government sources. International Slavery alive and well under Islam - Slavery and human trafficking affect millions of people in the world today. Most slavery is centered in Islamic nations ... and indeed virtually every black slave brought to America in the 18th ant 19th centuries came from Islamic slave markets in Africa. Now National Geographic footage of slaves traded openly in the 1960's in Islamic areas has been found. Egypt: Christian women must wear veils or get raped - Egyptian imam Hisham el-Ashry popped up on prime-time television to tell women they must cover up for their own protection. "I was once asked: If I came to power, would I let Christian women remain unveiled? And I said: If they want to get raped on the streets, then they can," Ashry told Nahar TV last week. Read more
Syria: Car bombs in Christian neighborhoods - More car bombs have been detonated by Obama's rebels in Christian areas of Damascus. Last week one car bomb at a gas station killed dozens of people. Most Republicans in the Senate support Obama's war on the last secular government in the Middle East.
UK: Muslim preacher orders hit on 15-year-old girl - A Pakistani girl who was shot by the Taliban for advocating education for girls, and who is being treated in the UK, has had a fatwa issued ordering her death. Read more
Thailand: 157 teachers killed by Muslims - In the last ten years,157 teachers in Thailand have died at the hands of Muslim "separatists." The teachers have been killed, for the most part, for teaching girls. Just as in the USA, the Thai media refer to the Muslim terrorists as "insurgents" and rarely even mention Islam. Read more

THE PRESIDENCY
God and the Obama Democrats - President Obama's Democrats hashed out their Big Government platform and deliberately left out any mention of God or the importance of Jerusalem. However, they want Americans to pay for abortions and want gay marriages legalized in every state. After even the mainstream media bashed the platform, God and Jerusalem were placed back in -- but to boos from delegates on the floor of the Democrat convention. Read more

God lost all three votes - In the midst of the firestorm over God being removed from the platform Barack Obama made a call and ordered Him back in. Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, serving as the convention chairman, was forced to call a two-thirds voice vote to reinsert the deleted language on Jerusalem and God. God and Jerusalem lost the first vote. Villaraigosa called for a second vote. God and Jerusalem lost again. Villaraigosa called for a third vote and there was still not a two-thirds majority in favor of God in the platform, so the chairman simply gaveled the vote through while many delegates booed and hissed. Obama's abortion celebration - Gary Bauer noted that "Another striking example of the Democrats' extremism is how their convention turned into a celebration of abortion. The leaders of Planned Parenthood and NARAL, along with Sandra Fluke, were given prime-time speaking slots. In his acceptance speech, Barack Obama equated abortion with 'health care choices.'" Bauer has prepared a PDF that exposes the overwhelming baby-killing agenda of Barack Obama. See it here
CONGRESS
Both Houses in recess - The House will reconvene on Monday, September 10th, with the first vote occurring after 6:30 PM. Although the media would like to portray any recess as a "vacation," that is far from the truth. Most congressmen work six days a week in their district offices, meeting with constituents. Each congressman has more than a quarter of a million people in his or her district, many of whom demand direct contact which they can't get when the congressman is in Washington, DC.  

Congress support of jihadists - Most in Congress, both Democrats and Republicans, support the overthrow of the secular government of Syria. A Syrian general said this: "Don't they understand that we are the last dam that is holding back the flood of Islamists in Europe? What blindness." Read more

PAKISTAN: More rapes and forced conversions - As many as 2,000 women and girls from various minority sects were forcibly converted to Islam through rape, torture and kidnappings, while 161 people were charged with blasphemy in 2011, according to a report by the Society for the Protection of the Rights of the Child (SPARC). JORDAN: Jordanian Jihadists fighting in Syria - Jihadist fighters appear to have responded to the call of Jordanian Sheikh Abu Muhammed al-Tahawi for jihad in Syria. The Jordanian intelligence services say they have arrested extremist fighters trying to cross from Jordan into Syria. Read more
AFGHANISTAN: No pattern to "green on blue" killings - Lt. General James Terry said that in the killings of 45 Americans this year by Afghan police, to say that "we've found any one discernible pattern at this time would not be accurate." How about this one: All of the killers were Muslims our Army had trained and given guns to. Is that a pattern? Read more
SPAIN: "No go" area for female cops - It begins with the area around a mosque and as the number of mosques increases, so do the number of zones where female traffic cops are not allowed to go. And if female traffic cops can't safely traverse on those areas, ordinary women dressed in a non-Islamic approved style certainly cannot.. Read more
EGYPT: Punishing Christians for no crime - Raymond Ibrahim has written a well documented article on the the collective punishment of Egypt's Christians. If there is an argument between a Christian and a Muslim, hundreds of Muslims then descend on Christian homes for "collective punishment." Read more

PETITION TO HILLARY CLINTON ON IRAQI CHRISTIANS - Read and sign the Internet petition to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The petition urges Clinton to direct our embassies to assist Christians who have fled Islamic terror in Iraq. The petition is located at www.iraqichristianrefugees.org.

THE PRESIDENCY

OBAMA'S GAY TIMES - This week President Obama granted benefits to homosexual "partners" of federal employees. As a result, for the first time in our nation's history, homosexual partners of federal employees will receive benefits just short of health insurance and retirement funding.

The benefits do not include health care and retirement because of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) signed into law by Bill Clinton. The benefits do provide long-term care insurance and sick leave to take care of homosexual "partners." Obama has stated he wants to overturn DOMA to allow homosexual marriage and full benefits to be forced on all employers.

EVEN MORE OBAMA GAY TIMES - President Obama declared in a proclamation that June is to be "LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgendered) Pride Month." In his proclamation the President stated, "LGBT Americans have made, and continue to make, great and lasting contributions that continue to strengthen the fabric of American society." What contributions would that be? Sex in the men's room of every major airport and the destruction of young men's lives through forcible sodomy? HILLARY'S SAME-SEX BENEFITS - Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Thursday issued an order granting diplomatic passports, medical care and U.S. government jobs overseas to homosexual partners of U.S. diplomats. In effect a homosexual "partner" of a diplomat will be given employment preference over other applicants, even if he has no experience. As a result of receiving these diplomatic passports, homosexual partners of diplomats can no longer be arrested in the vast majority of nations where homosexuality is illegal. Later that same day, Clinton fell on the way to the White House breaking her elbow.

"PEACE BE UPON THEM" - When referring to the dead prophets, including Mohammed, Muslims are required to say "peace be upon him" or "peace be upon them." In his Cairo address, President Barack Obama used the term after reciting the names of Moses, Jesus and Muhammad. If he is a Christian as he claims, why is he referring to Jesus as a dead prophet? In fact, why is he using this Muslim phrase at all? Read this interesting article by Frank Gaffney.

THE CONGRESS

THOUGHT CRIMES MOVE IN SENATE - Many Washington insiders expected the Democrats' thought crimes bill to be attached as an amendment to an existing bill this week without notice or hearings. However, so many calls and letters have been received by Senators that today the Senate Committee on the Judiciary announced it would hold a hearing on the "Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009' on Thursday, June 25, 2009. This is a major set back for homosexual groups who had hoped no one who opposes the thought crimes legislation would have an opportunity to speak at hearings.

PELOSI AND THE CIA - On Tuesday, the House voted to table a Privileged Resolution offered by Congressman Rob Bishop (R-UT) to create a four member bi-partisan panel to examine Speaker Nancy Pelosi's accusations that she and the rest of Congress were lied to by the CIA. The creation of the panel was denied by a vote of 247-171. Democrats continue to block an investigation that would reveal if Pelosi's remarks were truthful.

FRIGHTENED DEMOCRATS - As the price tag grows for a "national health care" plan, some Democrats, particularly in the Senate, are getting cold feet about passage of the plan this year. The bill, over 600 pages long, may cost upwards of $3 trillion over ten years. To pay for it the Obama Administration wants to tax those with private health insurance and cut Medicare expenses. Medicare expenses can only be cut by reducing services to those over 65. Note: the bill creating the Interstate Highway system in 1959 was only 32 pages long.

CULTURE AND RELIGION

ANGLICAN OR EPISCOPAL? - Next week the Anglican Church in North America will "emerge" to challenge the legitimacy of the U.S. Episcopal Church. This will force the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, to recognize the ACNA as a legitimate Anglican alternative to the Episcopal Church, a step he perhaps does not want to take. So far, 4 complete dioceses and 683 congregations have moved to the ACNA while the pro-homosexual Episcopal Church is sinking in membership and is strapped financially. Apparently Anglicans are more interested in hearing about Biblical truth than about gay issues and global warming, and have voted with their feet to join the ACNA.

TAXPAYER MONEY FOR TERRORISTS - In the War Supplemental Bill just passed by the House, $550 million was allotted to Israel and $600 million to the Palestinian Authority for use in the "West Bank" and Gaza. Note that those who wish to destroy Israel received more money than Israel did. It's too late to stop this injustice, but I have asked two Senators to try to amend the bill in the Senate, to allot a percentage of the Palestinian funds to the "religious minorities" in the West Bank. This would assist Christians, who face daily persecution at the hands of the Muslim majority. Christians were a majority in Bethlehem, but are less than 20% of the population of the city since the Palestinian Authority took control from Israel. Contact you Senator about helping Christians in the West bank.

ARAB PEACE WITH ISRAEL - The commander of a Gaza organization called Ansar Jund Allah (or Jund Ansar Allah) broadcast a message on June 17th to "all Jews" in which he said, '"We have come to you... with people who love death more than you love life." You can view the entire broadcast with the translation at MEMRITV, however, you will have to subscribe to the service, which is free. THE PRESIDENCY

BLACKBERRY TURN-IN DAY- Officially the government does not change hands until about 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 20th, but today is actually the last real day the Bush Administration has any effective control. All of my friends at various departments, such as Justice, State, Labor and even the White House were ordered to turn in their Blackberry handsets today. Although they will be paid through Tuesday, they were told not to report to work on Monday.

A FAREWELL TO GWB- When George W. Bush was sworn in as Governor of Texas in 1995 my wife Nancy and I were present in Austin, Texas. We moved the offices of the Religious Freedom Coalition to Washington, DC from Dallas, Texas shortly after that. We were also at both of George W. Bush's presidential Inaugurations, in 2001 and 2005, and in fact participated in Inaugural Balls both times. Going full circle now, we have been invited and will attend the farewell ceremony for President George W. Bush at Andrews Air Force Base on January 20th. We were not invited to any of the Inaugural Balls or other events for Barack Obama.

OBAMA'S GAY MILITARY - Barack Obama has indicated that one of his first orders as Commander-in-Chief will be to eliminate the "don't ask, don't tell" policy toward homosexuals in the military initiated by President Clinton and continued by President George W. Bush. Under the order to be issued by Obama, homosexuals will be allowed to openly flaunt their sexual encounters in the military. Why is this a problem? In a combat unit men must act as a team. When "lovers" are in the unit they watch out for each other and not the team. Read more

BUSH PROCLAMATIONS - Before leaving office, George W. Bush issued two proclamations of interest to social conservatives. He proclaimed January 18th as National Sanctity of Life Day. The March for Life will be held in Washington, DC on January 22nd, the anniversary of Roe V. Wade. President Bush could not issue a proclamation for that date because Barack Obama will be president. It is VERY doubtful that Obama will ever issue a "Sanctity of Human Life" proclamation because he simply does not believe an unborn child is a human life. CLINTON GOES TO STATE - Senator Hillary Clinton was confirmed this week as Secretary of State and has already moved into her new digs in Foggy Bottom. Before she could get out of her Senate office a delegation consisting of myself, my wife Nancy, and Father Keith Roderick delivered an Iraqi Christian Coalition letter to her, asking that she assist persecuted Iraqi Christians upon becoming Secretary of State. PLEASE ACT NOW - Congressman Todd Akin is once again preparing to introduce the Pledge Protection Act which would defend "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance to our nation's flag. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has sat on the atheist lawsuit to remove "under God" from the Pledge in hopes that the Justice Department under Barack Obama will agree with them that it is unconstitutional. INAUGURAL "PIG SEX" - This is beyond disgusting. This weekend, as part of their celebration in helping to elect Barack Obama, homosexuals will hold a "pig sex" event at the Doubletree Hotel here in Washington, DC. The hotel is owned and operated by the Hilton Hotel Corporation. The acts and conduct that is advertised at their Internet site cannot be reproduced here, but I can say that the activities make those in Biblical Sodom look mild in comparison. THE PEOPLE SAY: "DEBT IS THE PROBLEM" - A new poll indicates that 80% of Americans believe that the problem with the economy is government and personal debt. Read more. Personally I believe that a tax structure that promotes use of debt rather than equity led to the meltdown in 2008. Rather than sell stock, companies borrowed funds to expand. No interest needs to be paid to those who invest in stock, but a bond holder wants his interest payments regularly. Every one of the corporate bankruptcy filings, including that of Circuit City and others, came about because they could not make interest payments on a huge debt load.
