Obama gives foreign cops immunity in USA / Underwear bomber or coke bomber? / UK outlaws pro-terror Muslim group / Global cooling for next 30 years? / Rally to protest murder of Christians in Egypt / More on Iraqi Christian refugees

FINAL 2009 CHAIRMAN'S REPORT - The all new December 31, 2009 Chairman's Report is now available to read in PDF format. This issue examines the condition of the Christian churches, during this Christmas season, in Muslim nations such as Pakistan, Iraq and Iran. Click here to review.

THE PRESIDENCY

OBAMA'S FOREIGN COPS - In Executive Order 12425, President Barack Obama gave blanket immunity to Interpol, the international police force. Prior to this, Interpol had to operate within the boundaries of our Constitution while operating in the United States, honoring such protections as those granted under the Fourth Amendment, which prohibits unreasonable search and seizures. But under Obama's order, Interpol cops will have super rights that our own police do not have! They will be able to operate the way police do in nations such as Zimbabwe and Cuba. Where are the howls and cries of the ACLU? Read more
UNDERWEAR BOMBER OR COKE BOMBER? - Just this week I was a party to a conference call on airport security which was conducted by a high ranking member of the Homeland Security Committee. The Obama Administration, just as did the Bush Administration, is concentrating on passengers, and new high tech devices are promised, which will be capable of finding "underwear bombs." The problem is, there is no piece of equipment that can find liquid explosives hidden in a bag of Coca Cola syrup. Every day tens of thousands of pounds of food, including large metal canisters of carbinated water, are moving past airport security. Most of is examined with a quick look and virtually nothing is run through x-ray machines. At the same time, Muslims have gravitated to airport service jobs across the country. Virtually all aircraft cleaners working for Delta Airlines in Minneapolis are Somali Muslims. Meanwhile Mikey Hicks, an 8 year old New Jersey Cub Scout and frequent traveler, is constantly hassled by TSA because he shares the name of a suspicious person. He was first patted down at the gate for weapons when he was just two years old. Bottom line: Security at the airport is a show process to make us feel good and provides virtually no protection.

THE CONGRESS

HOUSE IN SESSION, SENATE IN RECESS - The Senate has been in recess for Christmas and New Year's Day. The House reconvened on Tuesday, January 12th, held some votes on Wednesday and the Democrats went on a retreat together without really doing much at all. The Senate will not reconvene until Tuesday the 19th which is the day after Martin Luther King Day.

ADL CONDEMNS ISLAMIC CONFERENCE - The Anti-Defamation League accused several Muslim groups on Monday of setting up an Islamic summit in Chicago for extremist and anti-Semitic invective. While claiming that the summit's purpose was to combat the radicalization of Muslim-American youth, it actually did the opposite. The ADL obtained transcripts of the summit in which speakers such as Egyptian Sheik Raghib Al Serjani called for the eradication of Israel. Materials sold at the convention included those of Anwar al-Awlaki, the U.S.-born Imam who has encouraged American Muslims to wage jihad. He is tied to the Fort Hood shooter, Maj. Nidal Hasan. GLOBAL COOLING NEXT 30 YEARS? - The blizzard in which Barack Obama returned from his "Global Warming Summit" in Copenhagen, is the beginning of a major cooling cycle according to noted climatologists. The research has been carried out by imminent climate scientists including Professor Mojib Latif who is a leading member of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. His group predicted a cooling trend in a 2008 paper. Read more in London's Daily Mail

U.K. BANS JIHADIST MUSLIM GROUP- U.K. Home Secretary Alan Johnson has outlawed Islam4UK under a law allowing the government to ban organizations that advocate or glorify terrorism. The group is a reincarnation of an organization that had been on the blacklist under other names, including Al Ghurabaa. The group has praised the 9-11 jihad attack against the United States. Johnson said, "An organization should not be able to circumvent proscription by simply changing its name." It is rare for the UK government to take a stand against even the most viscious forms of Islam. Oddly, the liberal Guardian newspaper believes that groups that support terror should be allowed to operate openly. Apparently leftists in the UK, like those in the USA ,believe that radical Islamists calling for the death of innocent people have more rights than Christian pastors calling for the rights of the unborn.
RALLY AT UN TO PROTEST MURDERS - Seven Coptic Christians, including some children, were killed and fifteen others injured during a Christmas mass in Eqypt. Three Muslim gunmen were attempting to assassinate Bishop Kirollos of the Nag Hamadi Diocese. The media reported the attack was revenge for an alleged rape, but it turns out it was a government approved attack because Christians had refused to participate in a forced "reconciliation" with Muslims from the last murderous attack in November. The bishop called the attackers "Muslim radicals" and said "This is a religious war about how they can finish off the Christians in Egypt." Information on the rally can be found here.
IRAQI REFUGEES NEED HELP - Please help Iraqi Christian refugees with a tax deductible gift in 2010. All contributions posted online this week will go to assist Iraqi Christian refugees in Jordan and Syria. Please contribute at www.rfcnet.or g or at the Iraqi Refugee Project page at Face book.

Week Ending December 14, 2007 - Washington, DC

Huck and Hillary / Christmas resolution passes House / Then there was nothing / Two new Republicans in House / The Senate and Sudan Divestment / New Iraqi refugee video released / All new December Chairman's Report available.

THE PRESIDENT
HUCK AND HILLARY -
In an earlier update I said that if everyone who said, "I'd vote for Huckabee if I thought he could win," would actually vote for Huckabee, he would win. Suddenly all those folks started to talk to each other and realized that was true. Huckabee is now number one in Iowa, South Carolina and several other states, and he is closing in nationally on Rudy Giuliani. One poll has him in a statistical tie for first place nationally. Why is Mike Huckabee's message resonating? He didn't have any money, his campaign was run on a shoe string budget, and he didn't have any consultants to tell him what to say. Huckabee just answers the questions that are asked the best be can based on what he believes, and the people seem to like that. Meanwhile Hillary Clinton is sinking in the polls. The more voters get to know her the less they like her. There is a chance she may not win in Iowa or New Hampshire. Barack Obama has Oprah on his side, but that is not going to win him the nomination. He has no executive experience and is a first term Senator. I am beginning to think there will be a dark horse getting the Democrat nomination, perhaps someone who is not even running yet. (Previously reported at
http://www.gingpac.org./

THE HOUSE
CHRISTMAS RESOLUTION -
In October the Democrats, headed by radical Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, were full of glee as they passed a Ramadan Resolution through the House proclaiming Islam as one of the world's "great religions." This week Congressman Steve King (R-NY) offered H.Res 847, "Recognizing the importance of Christmas and the Christian faith." Some of the statements in the resolution are:

Whereas Christians identify themselves as those who believe in the salvation from sin offered to them through the sacrifice of their savior, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and who, out of gratitude for the gift of salvation, commit themselves to living their lives in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Bible;

Whereas Christians and Christianity have contributed greatly to the development of western civilization;

Whereas the United States, being founded as a constitutional republic in the traditions of western civilization, finds much in its history that points observers back to its roots in Christianity;

The document goes on to "resolve" that the House of Representatives "acknowledges and supports the role played by Christians and Christianity in the founding of the United States and in the formation of the western civilization." Pelosi and all but nine Democrats were forced to vote for King's resolution or face the charge that they favor Ramadan to Christmas.

AND THEN THERE WAS NOTHING- I have been on the political scene in Washington since 1980. In my nearly three decades of working to pass legislation I have never seen the House in such total disarray with a seeming inability to pass legislation, not even the authorization bills that fund the actual operation of the governments. In the next few weeks the Pentagon will actually have to send out lay-off letters to tens of thousands of civilian employees because San Francisco radical Nancy Pelosi just can't seem to get any legislation passed other than to name various post office branches after friends of her party.

WITTMAN WINS IN VIRGINIA, LATTA WINS IN OHIO - Bob Latta (R-OH) and Rob Wittman (R-VA) won special elections on December 11th for the House. The elections were important and conservative Republicans won both of them. These were not just Republican victories, but victories for the social conservative movement. Bob Latta and Rob Wittman are solid pro-life social conservatives. They won with very large margins despite a huge amount of money spent by the Democrat party. It seems that the word is out about Nancy Pelosi and the voters don't want to send her anyone else to help mess up the House.

THE SENATE
SUDAN DIVESTMENT LEGISLATION -
The Senate passed S - 2271, legislation which allows state governments, asset and pension fund managers to divest from companies that do business with Sudan. The bill passed this week by by unanimous consent. A sponsor of the legislation, Senator Sam Brownback said, "This divestment legislation allows the United States to work more effectively to change the economic calculations of the Sudanese regime," said Brownback. "Since 2003, more than 400,000 people have died in Darfur and more than 2.5 million have been displaced. We must not stand idly by as more people are displaced from their homes or are killed. We have said not on our watch, and now we have said not on our dime."

Week Ending November 30, 2007

New Iraqi refugee policy? / Stem Cell vindication for President Bush / Passing of a great pro-life leader / Another GOP Senator leaves town / Atheist Newdow in court next week / Is "under God" in danger? / Jailed for a Teddy bear - the Islamic way / Have you visited our Christmas store?

THE PRESIDENT

NEW IRAQI REFUGEE POLICY-
The Bush Administration has somewhat changed its policy toward Iraqi refugees who have worked for Coalition forces. As reported by the Religious Freedom Coalition fact finding mission in October, all Iraqi refugees had to go through the United Nations before being interviewed at one of our embassies. In other words the UN decides who should be interviewed for refugee status. Further, our embassy in Iraq would take no applications at all. Iraqis had to flee Iraq to apply to come to the USA. The Administration has now ordered that State Department employees in Baghdad can apply there. The policy will take effect in about one month and really only apply to a few hundred people. Unfortunately, all those who have fled Iraq or do not work for the State Department must rely on the United Nations for assistance.

STEM CELL VINDICATION- In 2001 I received a short note from President George W. Bush thanking me for being one of the few who supported his stem cell research policy. He refused to allow the continued creation of human embryos destined only to be destroyed in the laboratory and their stem cells extracted. This ban angered liberals, but the President's allowing the use of existing lines of stem cells angered many conservatives. Even Washington Post columnists now say he was right in his decision to allow what already existed while looking for alternatives. The alternative was found and stem cells can now be made from common skin cells. Click here to read Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer.

THE HOUSE

HOUSE IN RECESS - The House went into recess on Thursday for Thanksgiving and will not return until December 3rd.

GREAT PRO-LIFE CHAMPION PASSES - It was just last year that Congressman Henry Hyde left the Congress of the United States after 32 years of service. Following the Roe v. Wade case that legalized abortion in the United States, he became the single greatest champion of the pro-life movement, giving eloquent speeches. Mr. Hyde's efforts against abortion began in 1976, when his amendment to an appropriations bill prohibited Medicaid from paying for abortions. Known as the Hyde Amendment, it is still the law today. The world will miss this great pro-life champion.

THE SENATE

ANOTHER GOP SENATOR LEAVES-
Senator Trent Lott (R-MS) has announced that he is resigning his seat from the Senate. He did not intend to run for this current term, but did anyway to help get federal funds for his home state after the Katrina disaster. His own home was lost to Katrina and he is not a wealthy man as are most Senators. He will take a position with a lobbying firm in DC that pays probably triple his Senate salary. Republican Governor Haley Barber will appoint his successor.

THE ATHEIST'S DAY IN COURT-
On Tuesday, December 4, 2007 the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, otherwise known as the Nutty Ninth, will hear atheist Michael Newdow's latest lawsuit to have "under God" removed from the Pledge to our flag. There will be a lot of publicity on this next week! Have you read my book, The Pledge, One Nation Under God! ?

NEW CHAIRMAN'S REPORT - The November 21, 2007 issue of the Chairman's Report is now available online. This is the latest Chairman's Report and has new information on lawsuits filed by atheist Michael Newdow. The atheist Newdow has filed a new lawsuit against "under God" in the Pledge in New Hampshire. Click here to read the new Chairman's Report.

JUST PUT EVERYONE IN JAIL -
A court in Sudan has sentenced a British elementary school teacher to 15 days in prison and deportation on charges of inciting religious hatred. British citizen Gillian Gibbons, who had been teaching in Sudan just since August, allowed her class of 7-year-olds to name a teddy bear "Mohammed" as part of a school project. UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband expressed his "concern" and not much more. Gibbons could have faced longer jail time plus lashes on the back. Not a single feminist organization, teachers' union or liberal "civil rights" group has spoken up on this outrage. Click here for UK Times story.
