Obama created Syrian nightmare - Experts are referring to areas held by Obama's rebels as "the new cauldron for hatching terrorist strikes in the West." A bleak, well researched report in the Washington Times shows a hub of Islamic terror growing stronger every day in areas held by the forces supported by President Obama and Senator John McCain. Obama Army exposed for smearing Christian groups - Last week soldiers at Fort Hood, Texas were warned about giving money to evangelical groups or to Tea Party groups. They were told they could receive military punishment for doing so. This occurred on the same base where Nidal Hasan killed 13 soldiers and an unborn baby and wounded dozens more - and his actions were labeled "workplace violence" - even as he shouted praise to Allah. Pro-gay agenda activist takes over Homeland Security - President Obama has picked Department of Defense lawyer - Jeh Johnson - to run the massive Department of Homeland Security. In case Jeh Johnson's name isn't familiar to you, he's one of the primary architects behind the repeal of the ban on homosexuals serving openly in the U.S. Armed Forces. Read more

Senators demand response to persecution of Christians - In a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry, U.S. Senators Roy Blunt (MO), Bob Corker (TN.) and Lamar Alexander (TN) said recent reports of more frequent, targeted attacks against Coptic churches and individuals in Egypt "warrants a clear U.S. response." Congressman wants abortion coverage disclosed - Congressman Chris Smith (R) has more than 100 co-sponsors for H.R. 3279, the Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act. If passed into law it would force companies to disclose to those buying insurance if they were paying for coverage of abortions. Read more

World Council of Churches ignores persecuted Christians - Would the world, let alone Middle East Christians, be better off without the World Council of Churches (WCC)? Why has the WCC, which claims to represent and serve 345 denominations worldwide, done nothing to help the persecuted churches in Iraq, Syria and Egypt? Read more
International Religious Freedom Day ignored? - The issue of religious persecution around the world should be front and center for our government, but clearly it's not, under Obama. Yemen: Muslim father burns teen daughter to death - Only a month after an eight-year old girl from Yemen died on her wedding night after suffering massive internal injuries from her 40-year-old groom, a Yemini father has been arrested for burning his 15-year-old daughter to death because she committed the "crime" of talking to her fiance before their wedding. Kenya: Muslims murder pastors - Evangelical Christians are mourning the death of two pastors who were killed on Kenya's coast over the weekend amid concerns about growing pressure on devoted believers in the African nation. Read more
Nigeria: Police in northern states enforcing Sharia on Christians - As Christians in Nigeria continue to suffer violent attacks at the hands of Islamic extremists, they are also facing official opposition as the authorities enforce an Islamist agenda in a number of states. Read more
Syria: Disgusted by the West, Christians turning to Russia for help - It is very ironic that Russia, known for its history of atheism and persecution of Christians around the world, should now be looked to as the protector of Syrian Christians. This, while the Obama Administration and other western nations are openly supporting Islamic terrorists who are seeking to kill Christians in Syria and oust President Assad. Read more

Obama's godless army - In Obama's new military, homosexual sex is fine, but praying or expressing one's faith is not. Morality is upside down in Obama's bizarre world - where good is evil and evil is good. It is a world where upholding traditional marriage between a man and woman can destroy your military career. It is also a world where Islam is elevated above Judeo-Christian values in Obama's foreign policies. Read more
Ft. Hood victim attacks Obama Administration - Sgt. Alonzo Lunsford was shot seven times by Islamic terrorist Nidal Hasan during the Fort Hood massacre four years ago. Lunsford is angered by Attorney General Eric Holder's refusal to file terrorism charges against Hasan, a Muslim who served in the U.S. Army, but hated America and sought to defend the Taliban. Congressmen defending faith in military - Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) is working for an amendment to the defense authorization bill that will protect the right of Christians and those of other faiths to express their religious beliefs without fear of punishment. Read more
Christian conservative for President? - Texas Senator Ted Cruz, (R) an outspoken pro-life Christian conservative was in Iowa today speaking at the Iowa Renewal Project, a gathering of conservative pastors. David Lane, who heads up the renewal project said, "There's going to be a major push in Iowa to get evangelicals registered and practicing in the civil government arena. You'll elect every senator, every congressman, every state representative, every governor, every mayor, every city council member - you'll own the whole deal if our constituency will engage." Pro-gay, anti DOMA decision will affect public schools - The recent Supreme Court decisions on Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) will have a negative impact on children in public schools in the near future, according to the Alliance Defending Freedom. Read more
American imam trashes Constitution and human rights - Muslim Imam Zaid Shakir recently spoke at the annual Islamic Society of North America-Muslim American Society convention in Hartford, Connecticut. He stated that Sharia law was superior to the U.S. Constitution and that Christians and Jews are dhimmi who must be submissive to Muslims. Read more

Dubai: European jailed because she was raped - A young Norwegian woman has been sentenced to 16 months in jail after she reported a rape in Dubai. The 24-year-old was in the United Arab Emirates on a business trip when she was raped and reported the assault to the local police. Under the UAE's Islamic Sharia law, rapists can only be convicted if either the perpetrator confesses, or if four adult Muslim males witness the crime. Read more
Egypt: Muslim Brotherhood declares war - Reports are that the Muslim Brotherhood will begin attacks against Egypt's military compounds, military personnel, government buildings, and soft targets (houses, stores, and churches) in order to recover and secure their power over Egypt - then reinstate Mohammad Morsi as President. Sudan: Christians uprooted and killed - South Sudan's secession has served as a pretext for Muslim President Bashir's regime to bulldoze church buildings once owned by South Sudanese and to deport Christians based on their ethnicity. Converts are tracked down and killed. Read more
China: Model of America with no soul - On July 17th, Religious Freedom Coalition chairman William J. Murray spoke at a religious freedom rally on the lawn of the Capitol Building organized by the Falun Gong, a persecuted minority in China. Murray referred to China as a "model of America without a soul," alluding to the 47% of the population who are self declared atheists. Read more

A Saudi slave escapes in California - Meshael Alayban, a Saudi Princess, has been arrested in Orange County, California on charges of human trafficking of a Kenyan woman who was her domestic slave. The woman escaped from captivity and flagged down a bus for help. Read more
CAIR attacks Florida professor - The Hamas-front group Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is attacking Professor Jonathan Matusitz for accurately stating that there is a connection between Islam and global terrorism. Read more

Egypt: Muslims murder more Christians - Following the shooting death of a priest in Northern Sinai and the murder of four Coptic Christians near Luxor, Christians are living in fear after first hoping that the deposing of the Muslim Brotherhood would ease their persecution. Read more
Syria: Massacre at Christian village - Obama's so-called "Syrian rebels" continue to bring death and destruction upon Christians and Christian churches in Syria. They're nothing more than bloodthirsty killers seeking to impose Islamic law on the Syrian people. Read more Clergy including two Bishops are still held by Obama's "rebels." Iraq: How the U.S. "fixed" Iraq - The Rev. Andrew White, pastor of an Anglican church in Baghdad, tells of the "terrible suffering" of Christians in Iraq. In the last ten years since Saddam Hussein was killed, 1,026 of his church members have been killed - 58 in one day. Iraq's Christian population has shrunk from 1.5 million to around 200,000. Report From Washington - December 14th, 2012

The Presidency Egyptians can thank Obama for martial law - Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, by issuing a decree this week that allows the military to arrest civilians, has in effect placed that nation under martial law. Morsi will rule by decree as a dictator, he says, only until the vote on a new constitution is held. Then, of course, the new constitution will give him nearly dictatorial power. In September, 2011 at the United Nations, President Barack Obama praised the Arab Spring: "One year ago, Egypt had known one president for nearly 30 years," Obama said. "But for 18 days, the eyes of the world were glued to Tahrir Square, where Egyptians from all walks of life - men and women, young and old, Muslim and Christian - demanded their universal rights." In reality, as sharia law arrives, Christians and women will lose all of the rights they had under the government Obama helped to overthrow.
Obama sends more F-16's to Egypt - On January 13, 2013 the United States will send four of an ordered twenty new advanced F-16 fighters to Egypt. These will be added to the existing 200 that Egypt already has. Said House Committee on Foreign Affairs chairman, Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen of Florida, "The Obama administration wants to simply throw money at an Egyptian government that the president cannot even clearly state is an ally of the United States." There is growing fear in Israel of the weapons being handed over to Egypt by the United States. Malou Innocent, a foreign policy analyst at the Cato Institute said, "Should an overreaction [by Egypt] spiral into a broader conflict between Egypt and Israel, such a scenario would put U.S. officials in an embarrassing position of having supplied massive amounts of military hardware to both belligerents."
Obama: "Unions built Detroit" - Detroit has lost more than half its population over the last few decades. Virtually all industry has departed the city and the state of Michigan -- except for government supported auto makers. Unions and their arcane rules destroyed the industrial base of Michigan by refusing to allow industries to modernize. The current Republican governor wants to attract manufacturing back to the state with Right-to-Work legislation that would end forced union membership. Obama disagrees saying, "You only have to look to Michigan where workers were instrumental in reviving the auto industry to see how unions have helped build not just a stronger middle class but a stronger America." A psychiatrist would refer to this as "magic thought or "delusional thinking."
Congress
Senator blasts UN on Human Rights - Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) on Monday spoke out against human slavery and in support of religious liberty around the world. Monday was International Human Rights Day, which was created by the U.N. Declaration on Human Rights in 1948. The U.N., which is run by totalitarians and human rights abusers, seldom lives up to its own declarations. It is refreshing to see Sen. Marco Rubio sincerely denounce human slavery, the persecution of women and the violation of religious liberty around the globe. Read more

FEMA says no to churches and synagogues - In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, many New York churches and synagogues have discovered that they are ineligible for financial assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). FEMA grants are available to a variety of nonprofit organizations; however, houses of worship are not included on the list. Ironically, many of the churches and synagogues of New York provided shelter for those forced from their homes during the storm.
International
Most Egyptians do not want freedom of speech - About 70 per cent of the Egyptian population will vote in favor of the constitution drafted by Islamists. This overwhelming support for the draft constitution was registered despite the fact that as my colleague Andrew McCarthy re-affirmed on12/8/12, the charter effectively, "denies freedom of conscience," and "denies freedom of expression." Obama's new Egypt: Secularist gets prison for blasphemy - A Cairo court sentenced activist Alber Saber to three years in prison for "contempt of religion." Prosecutors also accused Saber of running a Facebook page that "promoted extremist ideas" and atheism, as well as insulting the divine, prophets and Islamic and Christian religious rites and describing God as weak. Amnesty International called the ruling "an outrageous assault on freedom of expression."
Obama's new Egypt: Cut off hands for theft - The head of the Egyptian judges' "social club" gleefully describes how under Sharia law he will be able to order amputations for theft. Read more

The Presidency
Obama sponsored riots come to peaceful Jordan - The reelection of Barack Hussein Obama has made jihadists around the world confident they can overthrow even more "moderate" governments. The Muslim Brotherhood has now sponsored riots in Jordan allegedly because the government dropped fuel subsidies. This is the same benefit drop that allegedly caused the riots in Egypt that brought the Muslim Brotherhood to power there. A second Obama term is a green light for Islamic aggression. (See International for attacks on Israel.)
The Obama-Morsi love affair - Barack Hussein Obama loves the Muslim Brotherhood and his favorite of the bunch is Mohammed Morsi, the president of Egypt. "Moderate" Morsi just ordered the Egyptian ambassador out of Israel. Morsi is angry that the Israelis fired back at the Gaza Strip after over 150 rockets hit Israel. It is Morsi's position, and probably that of Obama, that Israel should absorb the attacks without retaliation. NOTE: As of Thursday Israel had been hit by over 850 rockets in 2012.
Romney finally gets it? - During a call with large donors to his campaign Mitt Romney said that he lost the election because Obama had bought off so many different groups with "gifts." The loss was due to far more than "gifts." Romney lost trying to sell tax cuts to a dependency driven society in which half of the households pay no income taxes at all. Why are Benghazi hearings secret? - Both the House and Senate held closed hearings today on the continuing and broadening Benghazi situation ... Why is it secret? Congressmen will ask the State Department why a group of known jihadists who had fought against the United States in Iraq were guarding the consulate in Benghazi. The February 17th Martyrs Brigade was formed in memory of those killed attacking the Italian Consulate in Benghazi on February 17th, 2006. At the time, Libyan strong man Gadafi was an ally of the West and defended the Italian consulate. In doing so he killed 13 "martyrs." The attack on the Italian consulate was a protest against an Italian minister who was DEFENDING FREE SPEECH." The February 17th Martyrs Brigade went on to fight against American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is the organization Hillary Clinton hired to defend the American Consulate in Benghazi! Now you know why the hearings are secret. I could disclose more, but I don't want a visit from the FBI.
Congress in, then out - Congress was in this past week for hearings but for no votes of any consequence. The House will adjourn to district work next week because of Thanksgiving and return to the Capitol on November 27th. No vote on the "fiscal cliff" can possibly be made prior to December.
Religion and Culture

Time to give up, says Focus on Family leader - Several years ago Jim Daly organized a coup against Focus on the Family founder Jame Dobson. He convinced the Board of Directors that Dobson was too political, and that to make the organization grow it needed to drop politics. Since Daly's take over, the organization has declined radically. His new solution is to toss in the white flag on same-sex marriage because he says, "demographics are against us." The real solution for conservative Christians is to oust those like Daly who want to follow the world instead of the Lord. Read more.
Higher unemployment and higher costs - On Thursday the government reported initial weekly jobless claims surged by 78,000 last week to 439,000. That marked the highest level since April 2011. In the closing weeks of the election the Obama Administration reported jobless claims dropping.
International
Obama reelected, Israel attacked - What a coincidence! Barack Hussein Obama is elected and immediately hundreds of rockets pour down into Israel from the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile the jihadist rebels supported by Barack Obama in Syria take over the villages around the Golan Heights and Hezbollah moves heavy weapons to Israel's northern border. Seventy percent of Jews voted for Obama, but eighty-five percent of Muslims also voted for him. Which group will he stand with? Does he "have Israel's back" as he said, or will he back the Muslim Brotherhood's call for Islamist control of the entire Middle East?
Syrian Christians Murdered - In October a video appeared on the Internet showing Syrian "rebels" murdering a dozen unarmed men. The news media reported the video as showing Syrian Army soldiers who had been captured being executed without trial. Somehow no one in the media noticed that none of these men were wearing military uniforms or military style boots. Most of the men were also clean shaven, indicating that they were probably not Muslims. In reality the men had been kidnapped from a Christian neighborhood the "rebels" had invaded in a town west of Aleppo. Some of the men in the video were recognized by workers in Syria who have assisted us in distributing aid to Christians. These men were murdered by the "rebels" simply because they were Christians. Others were murdered in Saraqeb south of Aleppo.
Last Christian in Homs killed - The last Christian to remain in Homs, Syria was murdered this past week. 84-year-old Elias Mansour, a Greek-Orthodox Christian did not want to leave his home on Wadi Sayeh street - even though he knew his life was in danger - to care for a handicapped son. Mansour reportedly said that nothing would induce him to leave his home, adding that, if he met the rebels, "He would remind them about the Ten Commandments and the Holy Scriptures." There were 80,000 Christians in Homs when the Islamists began the uprising against the secular government there and ran them out.

PRESIDENCY 

THE PRESIDENT, ISRAEL AND GAYS?- And I thought Fidel Castro had long rambling speeches! During his address to the United Nations this week I got lost someplace between President Obama calling for an Islamic state in Samaria and this: "No country should deny people their rights because of who they love, which is why we must stand up for the rights of gays and lesbians everywhere." The remark had one goal, to raise money from homosexuals for his 2012 campaign.

OBAMA AND THE PALESTINIAN STATE - Last year President Obama demanded that Israel return to the "67" borders and promised Palestinians everything they had ever demanded. After telling Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas in advance that all his demands would be met, the President can't figure out why Abbas will no longer negotiate with Israel and instead demands a seat at the UN.

NETANYAHU RESPONDS - Prime Minister Netanyahu's response to Mahmoud Abbas' viral anti-Israeli speech was logical and balanced: '"I came here to speak the truth. The truth is that Israel wants peace. The truth is that I want peace. The truth is that Israel wants peace with the Palestinians, but they want a state without peace, and the truth is you shouldn't let that happen," he said. "The Palestinians should first make peace with Israel and then get their state. After peace is signed, Israel won't be the last country to accept a Palestinian state - we will be the first." SHOVEL READY? - I don't normally work on economic issues on Capitol Hill, but l must attend meetings where these issues are discussed. At a recent event someone handed out a summary of the Stimulus Bill included "shovel ready" spending on our highways. Of the $825 billion spent, just $27.5 billion, or less than 3%, was spent on roads and bridges. Where did the rest go? There were 3,545 "green jobs" created at a cost of $4.83 million each. There were 1,100 of those jobs lost when Solyndra went belly up.

THE CONGRESS 

U.S. COMMISSION ON INTERNATIONAL RELIGIOUS FREEDOM COULD SHUT DOWN - The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, an independent government watchdog for abuses of religious freedom abroad, may cease to exist if the Senate doesn't act over the weekend to reauthorize it. Congress leaves soon for a week long recess and the commission will shut down Sept. 30 without Senate reauthorization. One Democratic senator is apparently holding up the reauthorization, according to several sources. An extension has passed the House but Senate action is needed. Contact your Senators now!

RELIGION AND CULTURE 

GAY AGENDA: FROM WHITE HOUSE TO SCHOOL HOUSE - This past Tuesday, high school freshman Dakota Ary was given in-school suspension for stating in class that he believes homosexuality is wrong because of his Christian faith. Liberty Counsel is representing Dakota in this case, demanding full vindication and a full retraction of the suspension. If the school board does not comply, a lawsuit will be filed for violation of Dakota's First Amendment rights. Read more

MUSLIMS CAN VETO TAXI CAB ADS - Christians and Jews driving cabs in New York for years complained about vile advertisements on the tops of their cars for strip clubs. The Taxi Commission in New York City said the ads were up to the owner of the taxi medallion, not the driver or car owner. Then the Muslims complained and the rules were changed. The medallion owners must now get driver or owner approval of ads. Point: While Muslims make up less than one percent of New York's population, laws are frequently changed to accommodate them.

DANISH MEGA-MOSQUE - The city council of Copenhagen has given its final approval for the construction of the first official "Grand Mosque" in the Danish capital. The mega-mosque will have a massive blue dome as well as two towering minarets and is architecturally designed to stand out on Copenhagen's low-rise skyline. Read more  
NO AID FOR CHRISTIAN OR HINDU FLOOD VICTIMS - Christian and Hindu flood victims are being denied aid by the Pakistani government and Muslim organizations, charges Father Mario Rodrigues, national director of the Pontifical Mission Societies. "The only channel to get humanitarian aid to displaced people belonging to religious minorities, Christians and Hindus, is Caritas [the Church's charitable agency] " he told the Fides news agency. The US government gives Pakistan billions of dollars a year in aid. Read more
AT LEAST 110 MORE CHRISTIANS DEAD IN JOS - A rash of attacks by armed Muslim extremists on villages in Nigeria's Plateau state in the past month have left more than 100 Christians dead, including the elimination of entire families. In a guerrilla-type "hit and run" attack on the Christian community of Vwang Kogot, Muslim attackers at about 8 p.m. on Sept. 9 killed 14 Christians, including a pregnant woman. Read more
