PRESIDENCY 

THE PRESIDENT, ISRAEL AND GAYS?- And I thought Fidel Castro had long rambling speeches! During his address to the United Nations this week I got lost someplace between President Obama calling for an Islamic state in Samaria and this: "No country should deny people their rights because of who they love, which is why we must stand up for the rights of gays and lesbians everywhere." The remark had one goal, to raise money from homosexuals for his 2012 campaign.

OBAMA AND THE PALESTINIAN STATE - Last year President Obama demanded that Israel return to the "67" borders and promised Palestinians everything they had ever demanded. After telling Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas in advance that all his demands would be met, the President can't figure out why Abbas will no longer negotiate with Israel and instead demands a seat at the UN.

NETANYAHU RESPONDS - Prime Minister Netanyahu's response to Mahmoud Abbas' viral anti-Israeli speech was logical and balanced: '"I came here to speak the truth. The truth is that Israel wants peace. The truth is that I want peace. The truth is that Israel wants peace with the Palestinians, but they want a state without peace, and the truth is you shouldn't let that happen," he said. "The Palestinians should first make peace with Israel and then get their state. After peace is signed, Israel won't be the last country to accept a Palestinian state - we will be the first." SHOVEL READY? - I don't normally work on economic issues on Capitol Hill, but l must attend meetings where these issues are discussed. At a recent event someone handed out a summary of the Stimulus Bill included "shovel ready" spending on our highways. Of the $825 billion spent, just $27.5 billion, or less than 3%, was spent on roads and bridges. Where did the rest go? There were 3,545 "green jobs" created at a cost of $4.83 million each. There were 1,100 of those jobs lost when Solyndra went belly up.

THE CONGRESS 

U.S. COMMISSION ON INTERNATIONAL RELIGIOUS FREEDOM COULD SHUT DOWN - The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, an independent government watchdog for abuses of religious freedom abroad, may cease to exist if the Senate doesn't act over the weekend to reauthorize it. Congress leaves soon for a week long recess and the commission will shut down Sept. 30 without Senate reauthorization. One Democratic senator is apparently holding up the reauthorization, according to several sources. An extension has passed the House but Senate action is needed. Contact your Senators now!

RELIGION AND CULTURE 

GAY AGENDA: FROM WHITE HOUSE TO SCHOOL HOUSE - This past Tuesday, high school freshman Dakota Ary was given in-school suspension for stating in class that he believes homosexuality is wrong because of his Christian faith. Liberty Counsel is representing Dakota in this case, demanding full vindication and a full retraction of the suspension. If the school board does not comply, a lawsuit will be filed for violation of Dakota's First Amendment rights. Read more

MUSLIMS CAN VETO TAXI CAB ADS - Christians and Jews driving cabs in New York for years complained about vile advertisements on the tops of their cars for strip clubs. The Taxi Commission in New York City said the ads were up to the owner of the taxi medallion, not the driver or car owner. Then the Muslims complained and the rules were changed. The medallion owners must now get driver or owner approval of ads. Point: While Muslims make up less than one percent of New York's population, laws are frequently changed to accommodate them.

DANISH MEGA-MOSQUE - The city council of Copenhagen has given its final approval for the construction of the first official "Grand Mosque" in the Danish capital. The mega-mosque will have a massive blue dome as well as two towering minarets and is architecturally designed to stand out on Copenhagen's low-rise skyline. Read more  
NO AID FOR CHRISTIAN OR HINDU FLOOD VICTIMS - Christian and Hindu flood victims are being denied aid by the Pakistani government and Muslim organizations, charges Father Mario Rodrigues, national director of the Pontifical Mission Societies. "The only channel to get humanitarian aid to displaced people belonging to religious minorities, Christians and Hindus, is Caritas [the Church's charitable agency] " he told the Fides news agency. The US government gives Pakistan billions of dollars a year in aid. Read more
AT LEAST 110 MORE CHRISTIANS DEAD IN JOS - A rash of attacks by armed Muslim extremists on villages in Nigeria's Plateau state in the past month have left more than 100 Christians dead, including the elimination of entire families. In a guerrilla-type "hit and run" attack on the Christian community of Vwang Kogot, Muslim attackers at about 8 p.m. on Sept. 9 killed 14 Christians, including a pregnant woman. Read more

PRESIDENCY

"THE JEWS SHOULD LOVE ME" SYNDROME - There was unmistakable hatred in the eyes of President Barack Obama as he listened to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu speak during an Oval Office press conference. The President maintained a glaring stare and sneer on his face as the Prime Minister refused to ethnically cleanse 400,000 Jews from their homes and move them into a nation that would be less than nine miles wide, under Obama's terms. Yet Obama undoubtedly saw the Prime Minister's brave defense of his small nation as insubordination. Liberals such as Barack Obama view all minorities as Democrat Party property. These individuals are supposed to support liberal policies simply because of their race, sex or ethnicity. As a Jew, Prime Minister Netanyahu is expected to follow the current liberal line even if it means the destruction of Israel.

THE CONGRESS 

PROTECTING LIFE AND MARRIAGE IN THE MILITARY -
1. Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) offered an amendment to the Defense Authorization bill (H.R. 1540) that states that only those marriage ceremonies which conform to the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) can take place on military installations. DOMA defines marriage as a union of one man and one woman. The Department of the Navy had recently given permission for chaplains to perform same-sex marriages, but quickly reversed itself after congressional pressure.

2. Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) also offered an amendment to the Defense Authorization bill on "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" that would require all four military service chiefs to certify that gays in the military won't impact combat readiness or effectiveness before that White House policy allowing open homosexuality is adopted.

3. Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-M) offered an amendment to the same Defence Authorization bill that emphasizes DOMA in the military. The amendment defines marriage as a one man, one woman union for the military. All three of these military-related amendments passed out of committee and should be retained in the DoD bill.  
PRO-ISRAEL RESOLUTIONS - In response to President Barack Obama's demand that Israel return to pre-1967 borders that are not defendable, resolutions supporting Israel were introduced in the House by Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-T) and in the Senate by Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah. See Gohmert's video statement
JEWISH CHAPLAINS MEMORIAL - Congress has authorized a Jewish Chaplains Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. Although 13 Jewish chaplains have died while on active duty, there is no memorial in their honor. Groups have been working to change that, and have raised private funds to pay for the memorial, designed the memorial, and now have Congressional authorization from the House needed to erect the memorial. The final vote on H.R. 1627 was 380 to zero with 51 present/not voting.

RELIGION AND CULTURE 
SOCIAL CONSERVATIVES SUPPORT ISRAEL - Leaders of groups representing tens of millions of Americans including American Family Association, Reclaiming America, the Religious Freedom Coalition and others ran full page newspaper and TV ads supporting Israel after the inflammatory statements of President Barack Obama. Under the banner of Israel, You're Not Alone the coalition of organizations met with congressional leaders in Washington this week. ATHEIST NEWDOW LAWSUIT KICKED OUT - The Supreme Court rejected atheist Michael Newdow's case challenging "So Help Me God" in the Presidential Oath. This is the second case this year that Newdow has lost at the Supreme Court level. The Court also refused to hear Newdow's case challenging "In God We Trust" on U.S. currency.
SEX CHANGE FOR SEVEN-YEAR-OLDS? - Dr. Norman Spack is a pediatrician who has opened a clinic at Boston Children's Hospital to treat kids as young as seven years old who are "confused about their gender identity." Instead of counseling the youngsters to help them gain confidence in their own God-given biological gender, Dr. Spack and his associates, and the pathetic excuses for parents who bring their children to this clinic, are engaged in something much more disturbing. ACLU DEFENDS SHARIA - The ACLU, which was among the first to, in their words, "applaud and congratulate" efforts to build the Ground Zero Mosque, is also among the foremost defenders of sharia law in America. The ACLU has mounted an offensive against the fifteen states which have adopted or are considering the adoption of legislation to ban sharia and other foreign or international laws from being considered in their courts. INTERNATIONAL 

MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD: SHARIA FOR EGYPT - A Muslim Brotherhood leader declared that Islamic Sharia Law would be imposed in Egypt if they come to power. Sobhi Saleh, a Muslim Brotherhood leader, claimed Sharia would protect not only Muslims but also those non-Muslims who pay the Jizya (protection money). Obama plans on giving more than $1 billion this year to Egypt. Read more

CHRISTIAN SISTERS KIDNAPPED AND FORCED TO MARRY MUSLIMS - In Faisalabad, Pakistan a powerful Muslim businessman, with the help of a group of accomplices, kidnapped two Christian sisters, forced them to convert to Islam and marry him. The girl's father reported the kidnapping to the police but the police blocked investigations by reversing the facts: they said the daughters fled because of their father's violence. A priest from the diocese of Faisalabad points out that the kidnapping of young women has become "common practice", because the authorities and police are "puppets in the hands of extremists." PLEASE NOTE TWO KEY ITEMS .. Both girls were forced to marry the same man. Islam allows men to have up to four wives. Read more

PRESIDENCY
OBAMA WANTS INDEFENSIBLE BORDERS FOR ISRAEL - Today President Barack Obama joined the chorus of radical Muslims calling for Israel to return to its 1967 borders, giving Israel less total square miles than the city of Houston, Texas. The 1967 borders are not defensible and at some points Israel is not even eight miles wide. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was to meet with Obama on Friday, and Obama chose Thursday to make his dramatic remarks to appease Muslims worldwide. In previous meetings Obama has shown total disrespect for the Israeli prime minister, on one occasion making him enter through a side door. Obama's callus attitude toward Israel has cost him some very large liberal Jewish donors as well as Jewish voters. Still be persists in calling for Israel to return to its pre-1967 borders which is in essence suicide for that nation. Tel Aviv airport will be within the range of a simple mortar attack and Tel Aviv itself a prime target for rockets. In effect Obama has called for the destruction of Israel.  
CONSERVATIVE GROUPS SUPPORT ISRAEL - When Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu arrived in Washington, DC this week he was greeted by a full page ad in the Washington, DC edition of the Wall Street Journal showing the support of numerous social conservative organizations including the Religious Freedom Coalition. The ad, which was signed by numerous social conservative leaders including myself, conveyed the message from millions of Americans to Israel that, "You are not alone." There was also a message in the ad for President Barack Obama that Israel should not and cannot be abandoned. Read more

THE CONGRESS 
SUPPORTING ISRAEL - Majority Leader Eric Cantor filed a bi-partisan resolution in support of Israel. The resolution calls for President Obama's ambassador to the United Nations to veto any move to have an independent state declared for Palestinians. The majority Islamic nations and the anti-Semites of Europe want to reduce the size of Israel so that the Jews there can eventually be exterminated. SENATE GOP BLOCKS RADICAL OBAMA NOMINEE - Today Republicans in the Senate blocked the confirmation of the most radical judicial candidate Obama has yet put forward, Berkeley college professor Goodwin Liu, a man who has never served as a lower court judge and has hardly ever even argued a case before a federal court. If confirmed he would have become a federal judge on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals for life. Read more!

BURNING QUR'AN IS BIG NEWS, PLOTTING TO MURDER IS NOT - Just down the road from where Rev. Terry Jones made headlines talking about burning a Qur'an, two other religious leaders were arrested for conspiracy to murder, maim and kidnap victims in the name of their god. They had even raised and sent funds to a known terrorist organization. The father and son imams were arrested in Florida and other arrest warrants were issued, but don't look for the story on the front page of the New York Times as that paper is using its space to report on "Islamophobia." NEW MUSLIM US ATTORNEY SAID ISRAELIS ARE LIKE NAZIS - He has led marches against Israel and he shouted out the name of a terrorist leader. He has been an activist in numerous Islamic organizations with a hatred for Jews and Israel. As of this week he is also the new Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan. WHO IS FUNDING HUGE BROOKLYN MOSQUE? - Concerned residents of Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn formed a group called Bay People to stop construction of a large mosque in their neighborhood, but lost their appeal in court on May 10th. Yet some of the problems they first pointed out last summer do not seem to have been addressed. The mosque is apparently being funded by the Muslim American Society, a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, and is an organization which "has a troubling history of associations with radical organizations and individuals that promote terrorism" Read more

ISRAEL REJECTS '67 BORDER - Prime Minister Netanyahu rejected President Obama's call for Israel to return to the 1967 borders saying, "Israel believes that in order for peace to prevail, the establishment of a Palestinian state cannot come at the expense of the State of Israel's existence." His statement continued, "The Palestinians, and not only the United States, must recognize Israel as the Jewish people's nation-state."  
WHAT WOULD JOHN F. KENNEDY DO? - German newspaper Die Welt reported this past week that Iran is building missile silos in Venezuela. This is a clear indication that Iran is doing far more than supplying Venezuela with defensive anti-aircraft systems. The Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez and Iranian madman Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are allies and have signed numerous pacts. One of those allows for mining of uranium in Venezuela for sale to Iran. When it was discovered that the Soviet Union was shipping missiles to Cuba in 1960, President John F. Kennedy threatened war to stop them. What will President Obama do?

Don't move deadly rockets closer to Israel's families

When Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu arrives in Washington, DC this week he will be greeted by a full page ad in the Wall Street Journal showing the support of numerous social conservative organizations including the Religious Freedom Coalition. The full page ad ran in the Washington, DC regional edition of the Wall Street Journal and was seen by virtually every congressman and Senator.

The pressure on Israel to give up land, including a large part of their capital city of Jerusalem, has never been greater. Each time Israel has given up their land for the promise of “peace,” the people of that tiny nation have instead been bombarded by rockets fired from an even closer range. If those rockets are moved to the 1967 border as the PLO and Hamas now demand, Tel Aviv will be an easy target to hit.

President Obama has now joined the radical Muslim voices of the world to call for Israel to be reduced to its 1967 border, a border that cannot be defended.

In the years after Israel handed over control of the Gaza Strip in September, 2005 and evicted nearly 8,500 Israeli citizens, thousands of rockets and tens of thousands of mortar shells have been fired into Israel. Homes, schools, malls and even day care centers have been hit. Innocent civilians have been killed and injured by these attacks in Israel. Most recently an anti-tank missile hit an Israeli school bus.

A surrender of more land by Israel will only move the deadly missiles closer to the population centers of Israel. The Jewish people, given the land by Jehovah in a lasting covenant, should not be forced to surrender even another hectare. The advertisement in the Wall Street Journal is meant as an encouragement to Prime Minister Netanyahu and the people of Israel. The ad concludes by telling Prime Minister Netanyahu, “We, the undersigned, encourage President Obama, the State Department, the Congress, and the whole of the United States of America to stand unwavering with you, without further sacrificing Israel’s sovereignty, safety, or security. TV as well!

Not only does the full page ad appear in the Wall Street Journal on Thursday, May 19th, but in the Jerusalem Post on Friday, May 20th to let the people of Israel know that there are still millions of Americans standing with them. The coalition of groups from across the United States is also running an a TV commercial on the Fox News channel.
