The Presidency 

Obama's Prophet - To non Christians Jesus is simply Jesus, he is not the Savior. To non Muslims Mohamed is simply Mohammed, he is not the Prophet. Only Christians call Jesus "the Savior" and only Muslims call Mohammed "the Prophet." These were President Barack Hussein Obama's words at the United Nations this week: "The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam." In the next sentence he referred to Jesus Christ without using the term Savior. Many found this very odd, particularly in light of the United States backing a UN resolution supporting blasphemy laws, a resolution all previous American administrations have opposed.

Obama ordered arrest of film maker - Federal authorities have jailed without bail the individual who made the anti-Islam film clip that Obama and his Administration falsely claimed caused the murder of one of our ambassadors. Federal authorities claim the man was arrested not for the video, but for violating his parole in a bank fraud case dating back to the year 2000. If the arrest was not because of the video, why did prosecutors in demanding he be held without bail, use language nearly identical to Obama's concerning the film clip. The Wall Street Journal has called Mr. Nakoula's jailing a First Amendment affront. Read more

Resolution Reaffirming Importance of Faith and Supporting Free Exercise of Religion - Rep. Stephen Fincher, a Member of the Prayer Caucus, recently introduced H.Res.789 to reaffirm the importance of faith in the lives of Americans and to support the free exercise of religion. The measure recognizes the important role that Judeo-Christian principles played in the development of our nation, and rejects efforts to remove religious faith from the public square.

Group Letter on Religious Freedom - The Religious Freedom Coalition and numerous other groups wrote a group letter to Congressman Robert E. Andrews (D-NJ) asking for an apology and for a clarification of his position on the NLRB's violations of the First Amendment and harassment of religious educators. Read more.

Senate candidate arrest record - Congressman Todd Akin, who is running for the Senate in Missouri, was arrested 25 years ago, just as his Democrat opponent claims. However, his arrest record is getting him more support not less. When a left wing reporter asked him if he had ever been arrested he proudly responded, "Yeah, well, certainly. Probably about 25 years ago or so I was involved in some peaceful protests. As I've made very clear I don't apologize for being pro-life. I stand up for the things I believe in."

Bloomberg has 275 sq ft for you! - Mayor Bloomberg, who has just banned anything larger than a 16 oz drink at a restaurant, now wants people to live in a 275 square foot apartment, an area half the size of a subway car. He says single people need the apartments in New York and they will be cheap at $2,000 a month. Mayor Bloomberg's current mansion, which is just one of eleven homes he owns, including one in Bermuda, is reportedly 41 times larger than the proposed apartments. Read more

UN chief Ban Ki-moon wants to ban free speech - Shortly after President Barack Obama declared at the United Nations that "The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam," the Secretary General took to the podium to denounce freedom of speech. In remarks clearly designed to back Islamic blasphemy laws Secretary Ban made this remark about freedom of speech: " When some people use this freedom of expression to provoke or humiliate some others' values and beliefs, then this cannot be protected in such a way." Sweden: Jewish Center bombed - On Friday, the Jewish Center in Malmo, Sweden was bombed. Malmo Jews say they are routinely harassed in the city of 300,000 residents, which has a large immigrant community from the Middle East. Earlier this year, a rabbi was physically assaulted and in 2010, a group of Jews were attacked by Swedish Muslims during a peaceful protest in support of Israel. Read more
Spain: Pope must apologize for Christians freeing Spain from Muslim invaders - A communique from the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) - The "moderate" scholars loved by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton declared that the Pope must apologize for the Christian victory over the blood thirsty Islamic invaders who enslaved Spain for hundreds of years. Morocco: Force Arabic on European schools - The Moroccan minister Abdellatif Mâazouz is pressing governments in Europe to make the teaching of Arabic a standard part of the European school curriculum. Morocco is one of those "moderate" Islamic nations that liberals love to point to.
Australia ; Eight year old girl calls for jihad - eight-year-old Ruqaya yesterday was put on stage at a congress of Islamic fundamendalists in Sydney to espouse her love for jihad. Addressing a 600-strong crowd at the Australian chapter of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Bankstown in the city's west, the young girl urged all Muslim youth to fight for the restoration of the Islamic caliphate, a single global government for all Muslims established under strict sharia law. Mitt Romney avoids social issues - The Republican convention is over and the race between Obama's vision and Romney's vision for the American economy is all we are supposed to look at. There is much more to consider. Along with the Obama entitlement state comes same-sex marriage, abortion on demand, and control of the church pulpit by the government. Unfortunately the Romney camp doesn't seem concerned with these issues. They should be, since many voters who vote Republican do so for other than economic reasons.

Both Houses in recess - The House will reconvene on Monday, September 10th, with the first vote occurring after 6:30 PM. Although the media would like to portray any recess as a "vacation," that is far from the truth. Most congressmen work six days a week in their district offices, meeting with constituents. Each congressman has more than a quarter of a million people in his or her district, many of whom demand direct contact which they can't get when the congressman is in Washington, DC.
The Todd Akin saga - According to the leftist media and Republican political strategist Karl Rove, the candidacy of Congressman Todd Akin for Senate is an insult to the entire nation. Todd Akin, according to the radical left and the Republican establishment, is either an idiot or a women hater. What is the real problem with Todd Akin? It's that he believes life begins at conception. By siding with the far left to destroy Todd Akin, the Republican Establishment could be tossing out victory this fall. Read more here

Congressmen defend Jesus statue - Eighteen members of the House of Representatives signed an amicus curiae brief filed by the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) urging a federal court to dismiss a lawsuit filed by the Freedom from Religion Foundation against a World War II memorial statue of Jesus in Montana's Flathead National Forest. School district can't kick out Christian club - A federal appeals court ruled today that the Minneapolis Special School District No. 1 engaged in viewpoint discrimination when it removed Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) from the after-school program. "When the government targets a particular viewpoint taken by speakers on a general subject, the First Amendment is violated," said a representative of Liberty Counsel which represented CEF in this case. Read more Foot notes in Army report reveal truth about killings The foot notes in a report from last May by the US Army that is now declassified, exposed the truth about the killings of U.S troops by Afghan soldiers and police. The cause, despite the public claims otherwise, is Islam. The report itself white washes the facts, but the footnotes they forgot to erase tell the truth. Read more.

Ramadan Rampage - The month of Ramadan proved to be a month of renewed Muslim piety on the one hand, and renewed oppression of non-Muslim minorities on the other. In Nigeria, for example, Islamic militants are living up to the assertion that "Ramadan is a month of jihad and death for Allah," proving that killing Christians is not only reserved for Christian holidays-like Christmas and Easter, when militants bombed churches killing dozens-but is especially applicable during Islam's Ramadan. Pakistan: 14-year-old Christian girl faces death - A Christian girl with Down's Syndrome has been arrested on blasphemy charges in Pakistan, accused of burning pages inscribed with verses from the Koran. Under Pakistan's insane blasphemy laws, she faces death. Pakistan receives billions of dollars of American aid each year. Read more
Germany: Jews warned against Yarmulkes - After an attack on a rabbi in Berlin by Muslim youth, the head of the Berlin Jewish community said he would "not recommend that any Jew go around in parts of Berlin with a kipah." In other words, don't look Jewish. Read more

CHAPLAINS MUST RECOGNIZE SAME- SEX MARRIAGE - President Obama has informed the Congress that he will veto the military authorization bill because of an amendment added by Congressman Todd Akin (R-MO) that would allow military chaplains to refuse to participate in same-sex marriages. Obama said he would veto all funding for the military unless chaplains can be forced to violate their faith. Read more
OBAMA ORDERS VIOLATION OF LAWS - DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act, is the law of the land. DOMA defines marriage as between one man and one woman and specifically states that the federal government will not recognize any other type of union. President Barack Obama has now ordered the military to preform same-sex marriages, even in states where same-sex marriage is constitutionally forbidden. As president, it is Barack Obama's duty to uphold the now, not to order others to violate it.
NEW AD POINTS TO MORE OBAMA VIOLATIONS OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM - The Religious Freedom Coalition has a continuing advertising campaign designed to stop President Barack Obama's frequent attacks on religious freedom. PROTECTING CHAPLAINS - As mentioned above, President Barack Obama has threatened to veto the entire military authorization bill unless chaplains can be ordered to violate established law. Below is the exact wording of Rep. Todd Akin's amendment to the FY2013 National Defense Authorization Act, Section 536 of H.R. 4310 states in part that no member of the armed forces may "direct, order, or require a chaplain to perform any duty, rite, ritual, ceremony, service, or function that is contrary to the conscience, moral principles, or religious beliefs of the chaplain, or contrary to the moral principles and religious beliefs of the endorsing faith group of the chaplain."
GROUPS HELP FIGHT INTERNET GAMBLING - The Religious Freedom Coalition and 12 other of the nation's leading pro-family advocacy groups submitted a letter to the leadership of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives calling for them to act immediately to stop the massive expansion of internet gambling enabled by Attorney General Holder's surprise reinterpretation of the Wire Act. Holder's action would allow states to sell lottery tickets on the Internet. Read more
TAXPAYERS ARE PAYING FOR ABORTIONS - Congressmen Bill Huizenga and Dan Boren introduced H.R. 5646, the Homeland Security Respect for Life Act, which closes loopholes that allow taxpayer funds to be used for abortions for illegal immigrants in detention by the Department of Homeland Security. The bill mirrors language that is currently included in the annual Commerce, Justice, Science Appropriations bill which prohibits taxpayer funding of abortions for federal detainees, but not those under DHS jurisdiction.

UNIVERSITY DROPS INSURANCE BECAUSE OF OBAMACARE - Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, announced that it is cancelling its health insurance policy for students and will not offer any plan that "requires us to violate the consistent teachings of the Catholic Church on the sacredness of human life." THE PRESIDENCY
EXPOSING OBAMA'S WAR ON FAITH - Religious Freedom Coalition newspaper ads telling of the Obama Administration's threats to religious freedom begin running on May 13th. The first newspaper to accept the ad was the Panama City News Herald. This newspaper is in the Panhandle of Florida, in an area that has a large military presence. Many of those living in the area fought for religious freedom in Iraq and Afghanistan, only to see Christians persecuted by the predominantly Muslim governments there.

On May 16th the ads will appear in the Washington County News in Chipley, FL and the Holmes County Times Advertiser in Bonifay, FL. The ads' schedule will start to move south along the Florida Gulf Coast with areas around Tampa and Naples in the next few weeks. We will not advertise in the very liberal Tampa and St. Petersburg, Florida newspapers. It is not our goal to anger liberals, but to encourage social conservatives to contact their congressmen and Senators to demand that Congress block President Barack Obama's continued attacks on religious liberty. OBAMA'S GAY AGENDA - Obama has moved back to the position he had on same-sex marriage in 1996. In a typed and signed statement, Obama said: "I favor legalizing same-sex marriages, and would fight efforts to prohibit such marriages." Then, when he ran for the Senate in 2004 he said marriage should be between a man and a woman. While running for president he said he was against same-sex marriage, but this week he declared he was for it. What changed his mind back to his 1996 position? Money. Several gay "super-pacs" informed Obama that unless he backed same-sex marriage they would spend no money on his reelection. A man of principle Obama is not.
GOVERNMENT RATHER THAN GOD - Just what Obama ordered: One in five Americans-the highest percentage in the nation's history-relies on the federal government for benefits, ranging from housing, health care, and food stamps to college tuition and retirement assistance. That's more than 67.3 million Americans who receive subsidies from Washington. The federal government spent more taxpayer dollars than ever before in 2011 to subsidize Americans. The average individual who relies on Washington could receive benefits valued at $32,748, which is more than the nation's average disposable personal income ($32,446). Read more

CONGRESS 

PROTECTING CHAPLAINS - Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) added an amendment to the FY2013 National Defense Authorization Act, which protects the rights of conscience of military chaplains. Akin, who is a member of the Prayer Caucus, announced that he will offer an amendment to the bill to provide specific conscience and religious freedom protections for military chaplains and other service members. Akin said, "Chaplains and service members should not face recrimination or persecution in the military for standing strong on their religious beliefs in opposition to homosexuality. A military chaplain is charged with meeting the religious needs of all of those under his or her care, but that chaplain must also remain true to their own faith." Rep. Akin's amendment draws from the Military Religious Freedom Protection Act (H.R. 3828) introduced by Rep. Tim Huelskamp, which would provide similar protections for service members. The bill was passed out of committee with Congressman Akin's amendment being approved. Read more
CAPITOL HILL PRAYER EVENT - A prayer event was held in U.S. Capitol this week. On Tuesday in the U.S. Capitol, a ceremony took place commemorating the 223rd anniversary of President George Washington's first inauguration. The event focused on America's Judeo-Christian heritage, specifically highlighting our first President's reputation as a man of prayer. Rep. Louie Gohmert noted, "Preachers of every Christian denomination preached Christian doctrine in this chamber - right here where we sit." Read more

CAIR ATTORNEY TRASHES USA IN EGYPT - Palestinian-American Lawyer Lamis Deek accuses the major corporations and the US Department of Defense of financing films vilifying Arab and Muslim communities. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT FOR JUNE 29th, 2011 - William J Murray reports on President Obama, Congress and terrorism. This issue includes Obama's drive to make us more dependent on energy from despotic nations and his release of oil from the Strategic Reserve. The genocide of Christians in the Sudan which Obama is also ignoring while assisting Muslims in Egypt is questioned. At the Capitol Peter King's hearings on radical Islam in our prisons and the Child Interstate Abortion Notification bill are investigated. On the international front the continued slaughter of Christians in Nigeria by the Boko Haram is discussed. AS STIMULUS FADES UNEMPLOYMENT RISES - Both the markets and the White House were "stunned" today when unemployment rose to 9.2% and the economy created only 16,000 jobs in June. To put the number of new jobs in perspective, it takes 125,000 new jobs a month just to cover population growth. Liberal Democrats will scream for even more government spending, but that is always just a short term solution. Real job growth comes through private investment which the Obama Administration is discouraging through regulation and the threat of new taxes on business. OBAMA WANTS ARAB RATHER THAN CANADIAN OIL - Only Saudi Arabia has more recoverable oil reserves than Alberta, Canada. Unfortunately for Americans, the Obama Administration does not want oil from Alberta because it comes primarily from oil sands and Obama's "green" supporters don't like that fact. Currently Obama's EPA is blocking the construction of a pipeline to the USA from Alberta that would bring investments of over $9 billion and create 100,000 jobs. Simply put, out of liberal ideology, Obama would rather have American dollars flow to Arab nations that fund extremist Islam than to Canada.

OBAMA, GEORGE SOROS AND THE LIBYAN "REBELS" - The foreign affairs adviser for a top U.S. lobby firm hired to represent the rebels of Libya served a few months ago as President Obama's special representative to Egypt, where he reportedly held a clandestine meeting with the Muslim Brotherhood. In addition, a public relations firm working on behalf of the rebels recently arranged a meeting for Libya's opposition with a progressive group funded by billionaire George Soros that is known for its close relationship with the White House. CONGRESSMAN SAYS LIBERALISM SPRINGS FROM HATRED FOR GOD - Missouri Congressman Todd Akin (R) refused to retract his statement that liberals have a "hatred for God." Akin said of NBC editing out the words "under God" from the Pledge, "Well, I think NBC has a long record of being very liberal and at the heart of liberalism really is a hatred for God and a belief that government should replace God. And so they've had a long history of not being at all favorable toward many of things that have been such a blessing to our country. These powerful words have liberals enraged." According to Akin, "This is a systematic effort to try to separate our faith and God, which is a source in our belief in individual liberties, from our country. And when you do that you tear the heart out of our country." Read more

DON'T FUND SAME-SEX MARRIAGE IN MILITARY - Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) has offered an amendment to H.R. 2219, the Department of Defense Appropriations Act of 2012, which would prohibit the implementation of the Navy's new guidance on same sex marriage for its chaplains. This comes after the Navy recently issued guidance to their chaplains to officiate at same-sex marriages on military bases. This was a contradiction to the Defense of Marriage Act, and so, Members of Congress sent a letter urging the rescindment of this new policy. The Navy decided to halt the policy until further notice, but it is safe to assume that they may reinstate the policy at some point in the future. This amendment would halt funds for the implementation of these guidelines. Contact your congressman and urge him to support Huelskamp's amendment.

RELIGION AND CULTURE 

GAYS FOR JON HUNTSMAN - I was just a little stunned when someone sent me a link to a story in Q Salt Lake. The Q stands for queer and it is a gay newspaper in Salt Lake City which has semi-endorsed Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman. Rather than editorialize I will quote directly from the gay site, "While there are no official endorsements from any caucuses or groups within the Republican Party yet, the Utah Log Cabin Republicans worked with Huntsman when he was governor, and are ready and willing to work continue that relationship," Melvin Nimer, the president of the ULCR, said. "Huntsman was the first governor of Utah to open up the governor's mansion to the LGBT community," Nimer said. "They [the Huntsman campaign team] have reached out to get some help from us and some people within the group are working with him." Having read this glowing endorsement of Huntsman in the official "queer" site, I think I will personally reach out to a different candidate.

ISLAMISTS DEMAND TAKEOVER OF THREE UK CITIES - Islamic extremists have called on British Muslims to establish three independent states within the UK. The notorious Muslims Against the Crusades (MAC) group have named Yorkshire towns Bradford and Dewsbury, as well as Tower Hamlets in East London, as testbeds for blanket sharia rule. Moreover, if you go to the links of these anecdotes, you will find that in every single case the Pakistani police either did nothing to apprehend the culprits or, more often, actually helped them while turning against the victims. IMAM SAYS: "THE WORLD BELONGS TO US" - The United States has officially recognized the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and looks forward to "working with" it. Muslim Brotherhood Egyptian Shaykh Safwat Hegazy in a recent video threatened Jews and Christians, and ultimately the whole world, saying, "Jerusalem belongs to us, and the whole world belongs to us." He states the Islamic caliphate will return, and that "every land upon which Islam has set foot will return to us." He makes pointed references to Qurayza and Khaybar, which are clear threats against the Jews, and also states, "we will kill anyone who has polluted the al-Aqsa Mosque." RELEASE ASIA BIBI NOW - Pakistani Christians are demanding the release of Asia Bibi, mother of five, who has been falsely accused of blasphemy and jailed for nearly two years.
