The Presidency
Money for Muslim Brotherhood but none for White House tours - Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi has his own personal piggy bank for his totalitarian Islamist goals in the Middle East. Thanks to Secretary of State John Kerry and his boss, Barack Obama, Islamist Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood are being showered with $1 billion in aid from the U.S. We get to pay for the destruction of freedom in the Middle East, while kids are barred from the White House tours for "lack of funds." State Department award to anti-Semite - The Weekly Standard first reported that the First Lady and the Secretary of State would "honor" a woman who said it was "sweet news" when Israelis were killed in a bus bombing. The woman, Egyptian born Samira Ibrahim, has quoted Hitler on Twitts and frequently proclaims the 9-11 jihad attack on the United States as a great day for Islam. Decisions such as this explain why the State Department is referred to as "Foggy Bottom" here in Washington, DC. Read more
The White House and Saudi persecution of Christians - In the last two weeks I have written a column for WND.COM and appeared on radio shows including Mike Huckabee's national show to expose the persecution of African Christians who are guest workers in Saudi Arabia. I have posted stories on Facebook that have had thousands of visits. I placed an online petition asking congressmen to speak out against the Saudi persecution of Christians. That petition can be faxed for free to your congressman if you will sign it. The net result of my two weeks of work is 14 people who have contacted their congressman. I am flat out ashamed at the response and embarrassed to actually show up at a congressman's office claiming I have support from the American Christian community to stop the persecution and torture of Christians in Saudi Arabia. No wonder Barack Obama is so confident of his support for the Muslim Brotherhood and Saudi Arabia.
Congress
Senator grills Holder on social issues - Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) grilled Attorney General Eric Holder on his views about using armed drones to kill Americans on US soil, and on the Obama Administration's refusal to enforce laws that it does not like - rather than upholding all laws passed by Congress. Cruz noted that Holder's DOJ has refused to enforce voter intimidation laws against the New Black Panthers; has chosen not to defend the Defense of Marriage Act; and has chosen to ignore laws involving illegal immigration. Bill to protect religious freedom in ObamaCare - Congressmen Diane Black (R-TN), Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE), and John Fleming, M.D. (R-LA) held a press conference to announce the introduction of the Health Care Conscience Rights Act (HCCRA). This legislation would protect Americans' First Amendment rights and would stop the Obama Administration's assault on religious freedom. HCCRA offers a reprieve from ongoing violations of our First Amendment, including full exemption from the Obama Administration's Health and Human Services (HHS) mandate and conscience protection for individuals and health care entities that refuse to provide, pay for, or refer patients to abortion providers because of their deeply-held, reasoned beliefs. HCCRA has 50 original co-sponsors. Read more
Senator slams Muslim Brotherhood - Sen. John Cornyn (R.-TX) condemned Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood on Sunday evening for "trying to create a new Islamic dictatorship" in the Middle East. "The Muslim Brotherhood president in Egypt is trying to create a new Islamic dictatorship," Cornyn said during a speech before thousands of delegates at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee's 2013 policy conference. Congressmen and media mourn Chavez - At news of the death of Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez, the left-wing mainstream media and a few Democrat allies came out of the woodwork to mourn the human rights violator extraordinaire. Democrat Rep. Jose Serrano (D-NY) led the way with a tweet suggesting that Chavez "was a leader that understood the needs of the poor. He was committed to empowering the powerless. R.I.P. Egypt: Coptic Christians fear US support of Morsi - Thanks to Barack Hussein Obama, Coptic Christians in Egypt are being increasingly persecuted and marginalized under the Muslim Brotherhood regime of Mohamed Morsi. The Obama Administration helped oust Hosni Mubarak, which paved the way for the rise of Islamic tyranny in Egypt under Morsi. Read more
Denmark:- Uncovered women deserve rape - Imam Shahid Mehdi declared on TV that women who don't wear hijabs or burkas or who leave the house deserve to be raped. To prove his pint he actually tried to rape a woman in a public park in Copenhagen. Read more
Nigeria - Boko Haram attacks army during their "cease fire" - At least 20 people have been killed in a foiled attack on a military site in Borno state. The attack happened on Sunday in Monguno village in Borno state. Meanwhile Governor Ibrahim Gaidem of Yobe State said that the Boko Haram has destroyed 209 schools in that state.
Bangladesh - Is that blood on your shirt? - Most of those Khol's shirts for men now come from Bangladesh. Check them for Christian and Hindu blood. Acts of violence, especially against Bangladesh's Hindu minority, and strikes (hartal) continue across the country as Jamaat-e-Islami supporters call for reunification with Pakistan, and the creation of a "pure" state, free of its non-Muslim population.Read more

THE PRESIDENCY
CHAPLAINS MUST RECOGNIZE SAME- SEX MARRIAGE - President Obama has informed the Congress that he will veto the military authorization bill because of an amendment added by Congressman Todd Akin (R-MO) that would allow military chaplains to refuse to participate in same-sex marriages. Obama said he would veto all funding for the military unless chaplains can be forced to violate their faith. Read more
OBAMA ORDERS VIOLATION OF LAWS - DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act, is the law of the land. DOMA defines marriage as between one man and one woman and specifically states that the federal government will not recognize any other type of union. President Barack Obama has now ordered the military to preform same-sex marriages, even in states where same-sex marriage is constitutionally forbidden. As president, it is Barack Obama's duty to uphold the now, not to order others to violate it.

PROTECTING CHAPLAINS - As mentioned above, President Barack Obama has threatened to veto the entire military authorization bill unless chaplains can be ordered to violate established law. Below is the exact wording of Rep. Todd Akin's amendment to the FY2013 National Defense Authorization Act, Section 536 of H.R. 4310 states in part that no member of the armed forces may "direct, order, or require a chaplain to perform any duty, rite, ritual, ceremony, service, or function that is contrary to the conscience, moral principles, or religious beliefs of the chaplain, or contrary to the moral principles and religious beliefs of the endorsing faith group of the chaplain."
GROUPS HELP FIGHT INTERNET GAMBLING - The Religious Freedom Coalition and 12 other of the nation's leading pro-family advocacy groups submitted a letter to the leadership of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives calling for them to act immediately to stop the massive expansion of internet gambling enabled by Attorney General Holder's surprise reinterpretation of the Wire Act. Holder's action would allow states to sell lottery tickets on the Internet. Read more
TAXPAYERS ARE PAYING FOR ABORTIONS - Congressmen Bill Huizenga and Dan Boren introduced H.R. 5646, the Homeland Security Respect for Life Act, which closes loopholes that allow taxpayer funds to be used for abortions for illegal immigrants in detention by the Department of Homeland Security. The bill mirrors language that is currently included in the annual Commerce, Justice, Science Appropriations bill which prohibits taxpayer funding of abortions for federal detainees, but not those under DHS jurisdiction.

UNIVERSITY DROPS INSURANCE BECAUSE OF OBAMACARE - Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, announced that it is cancelling its health insurance policy for students and will not offer any plan that "requires us to violate the consistent teachings of the Catholic Church on the sacredness of human life." But beyond the contraception mandate, the university also cited skyrocketing costs associated with ObamaCare. Read more

THE PRESIDENCY
OBAMA PROMISES PALESTINIAN STATE IN TWO YEARS - The last time Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was at the White House, President Obama refused to have his picture taken with him and walked out of the meeting to have a hamburger. This week, however, Palestinian "President" Mahmoud Abbas received the royal treatment from Obama with photographers allowed to follow them around the White House. The Egyptian press is reporting from Palestinian sources inside the meetings that Obama committed to forcing the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state within two years. Abbas has no authority over the Gaza strip which is controlled by HAMAS, a terrorist organization. What exactly will he be president of?  
OBAMA AGAINST THE RULE OF LAW? - President Barack Obama has leveled criticism of Arizona's new law that allows police to arrest those in the United States who cannot identify themselves as legal residents. Also, he has ordered the Justice Department headed by radical leftist Eric Holder to "investigate" whether or not Arizona is violating the "civil rights" of the illegal aliens. Keeping this in mind, below is the actual Federal statute regarding alien ID:

"Every alien, eighteen years of age and over, shall at all times carry with him and have in his personal possession any certificate of alien registration or alien registration receipt card issued to him pursuant to subsection (d) of this section. Any alien who fails to comply with the provisions of this subsection shall be guilty of a misdemeanor _"

It is a Federal crime for an alien in the US not to have proper identification proving status. It is also a crime to enter the United States illegally. President Obama, who is supposed to uphold the law of the land, appears to believe that certain groups have the right to violate federal law.
WHAT KIND OF VOTERS? - In a video commercial for the Democratic Party distributed on the Internet, President Obama said he needs "young people, African Americans, Latinos and women" to help keep Congress in the hands of the Democrats in the November elections. Conspicuously absent from his comments were men, and those on Social Security. The "mainstream" media sees no bias in his call to action. Can you imagine the outrage if Gov. Sarah Palin put out a video commercial calling for "older white guys driving pickups" to vote for Republicans this November? What a striking double standard. Read more

THE CONGRESS

MUSLIMS BLOCK CHRISTIAN LEADERS FROM MILITARY - Invitations for Franklin Graham to speak at the Pentagon's National Day of Prayer event, and also one to Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council to speak at Andrew's Air Force base, have been rescinded for fear some Muslim somewhere would be offended by their presence. Apparently the military is refusing to allow any Christian leader to speak at a base if they have been critical of Islam in anyway. Oddly the military finds no problem with imams who refer to democracy as an "apostate religion" that must be destroyed. Congressman Trent Franks is circulating a letter to other House Members for signatures to send to Secretary of Defense Gates asking him what standards he is using to refuse Christian religious leaders the right to speak on base. NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER - This year, Billy Graham's son, Franklin Graham, is the honorary chair of the National Day of Prayer Task Force. The idea for the law establishing a National Day of Prayer came from a six week Billy Graham revival in Washington, D.C.in 1952. For the fist time there will be a National Day of Prayer observance on the steps of the U.S. Capitol. By law the date is set for the first Thursday in May which is May 6th this year. SILENT SURRENDER TO SHARIA - Woodrow Wilson said, "Never murder a man who is committing suicide." As radical Islam stands to the side directing, the West is committing suicide. In the UK, Belgium, France, Canada and even the United States, institutions and governments are surrendering to Islam. It is reminiscent of the post Wolrd War II era when the media saw Communism as inevitable. Today it is Islamic domination that is accepted as inevitable by the media, the corporate world and apparently by Barack Obama. The latest example is the vulgar cartoon series South Park which has in the past vulgarized Jesus Christ and the church in general. But when the South Park creators were warned by a radical Muslim group not to satirize Mohammad, they quickly backed off. The Muslim death threat said: "We have to warn Matt and Trey that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh for airing this show. This is not a threat, but a warning of the reality of what will likely happen to them." Not a threat? Theo Van Gogh was the Dutch TV producer who was murdered for satirizing Mohammad. A really compelling commentary on the South Park surrender to Islam was written by Nina Shea of the Hudson Institute.  
THE CROSS STAYS - the Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 decision that a cross serving as a Memorial to WWI veterans in the Mojave Desert can stand! The cross was first erected by the VFW in 1934, and the ACLU began lawsuits to remove it 1999. In 2002 Congress passed legislation designating the cross as a national memorial and stating that no federal funds may be used to remove the cross. Congress then passed legislation transferrnng the land the cross was on to the VFW. Still Federal Courts tried to remove the cross, despite its being transferred to private land. What is amazing is that four Supreme Court Justices felt compelled to vote to remove a memorial to veterans who died in combat. The ACLU's ultimate goal, of course, is to have all religious symbols chiseled off the graves of the dead at Arlington National Cemetery.
VIRGINA CHAPLAINS CAN SAY "JESUS" - Virginia state police chaplains can again refer to Jesus Christ in public prayers thanks to a restriction removed by newly elected Republican Gov. Robert F. McDonnell. The previous Democratic Governor, Tim Kaine, had restricted the practice in 2008, causing six of the then seventeen chaplains to resign in protest. Kaine is a close friend of President Barack Obama.

INTERNATIONAL

IRAN, THE U.N. PROTECTOR OF WOMEN'S RIGHTS? - Is this a total joke? The same week that Iran declared that women who have sun tans will be arrested for dress code violations the United Nations elected the rogue nation to the Commission on the Status of Women. The UN gave a four-year seat on this "human rights body" to a government that stones women to death for adultery and where lashings are used on women judged "immodest." Under Iran's standards a woman with a tan would be lashed. The United States provides most of the funding for the United Nations. Maybe it is time that stopped. 
MUSLIMS MURDER MORE CHRISTIANS IN NIGERIA - Nathan Sheleph Dabak and Sunday Gyang Bwede, both of whom worked for "The Light Bearer" Newspaper, a Church of Christ publication, were murdered in Jos by Muslims this week. The killers also stole their belongings and taunted the two mens' relatives using the victims' cell phones. The same church had two other members murdered by Muslims in the past week. Hundreds of Christians in the Jos area have been murdered this year with little or no action from the Nigerian government. Read more.

THE PRESIDENCY

FULL STEAM AHEAD -President Barack Obama took over the Oval office during one of the worst recessions in history. Rather than focus on jobs and the economy he plunged ahead with a radical leftist agenda. First he flew to the Middle East and apologized to Muslims for America. Then he flew to Europe and Asia and apologized for America. Then he hired as part of his personal staff people such as Van Jones that openly called themselves communists. He appointed radical pro-abortionists and cross-dressers to high positions and began his push to "fix" global warming and the "health care crisis." The result was 3,000,000 more jobs lost and a nation divided. His poll numbers are in the trash and Democratic elected officials don't want to be seen with him. His response? Push on with health care reform, the gay agenda and the Al Gore global warming religion. Our nation needs a president.  
IMMIGRATION "REFORM" NEXT? - President Obama has determined that he has "won" on health care. He has assured himself that he has the votes in the House after he promised the Progressive Caucus (the socialists) that if they voted for the smaller health care reform package that he would be able to pass a nationalized program later. He is moving on to immigration. The president's plan is simple: Legalize millions of illegal immigrants in hopes of securing the Hispanic vote in 2012.
OBAMA'S AL QAEDA LAWYERS - President Obama appointed Eric Holder to head the Justice Department because the two men are as one when it comes to ideology. Thus, don't expect any criticism from Obama over the hiring of lawyers who volunteered their time to defend terrorists held in Gitmo. Let me say that again: The Justice Department is hiring, for pay, ten lawyers who represented terrorists free of charge. It seems that these men are more aligned in thought with Attorney General Holder than with more mainstream members of the bar.

THE CONGRESS

HOW MAJOR HASAN WAS ALLOWED TO MURDER - Before Major Nidal Hasan murdered13 service members plus one unborn baby at Ft. Hood in November, he warned of what he was going to do. In advance he even presented a slide show explaining why it was required of Muslims in the military to kill their fellow soldiers in the name of Islam. He was ignored. The final report of the military said that over a dozen officers should be punished for failing to see that Hasan was becoming violent. This politically correct report did not once mention Islam or use the word terror. Men are being punished who did not report Hasan precisely because they feared the political correctness that infuses the military.

Ft.Hood is in Congressman John Carter's district. He has introduced HR 4267, the Military Whistle Blowers' Protection Act, that would allow members of the military to report individuals such as Nidal Malik Hasan without fear of reprisal. Make no mistake about this: If any of those now being reprimanded had actually stepped forward before the shooting and complained of Hasan's Islamic declarations, they would have been punished. That has to stop and it is the reason that Congressman Carter has introduced this bill. Please contact your congressman about HR 4267  
NEW SCANDALS - Congressman Charles Rangel has finally stepped down as chairman of the powerful Ways and Means committee. He is involved in numerous scandals including failing to report income tax on property in Jamaica. Another Democrat House member, Eric Massa, has resigned rather than face further investigation over improper sexual conduct toward a male staff member. In 2004 the Republicans lost control of the House largely because of scandals. Democrats now face a duel problem: numerous scandals including those of the governors of New York and Illinois, plus the unpopularity of President Obama's far left agenda including nationalization of health care.
AWAY FROM CAPITOL HILL - I am currently in Naples, Florida at a meeting of the Council on National Policy and as a result do not have my usual Washington sources. While here, I have met with Senator Jim DeMint and Senate candidate Marco Rubio among others. I have attended various briefings that will assist me in my work on Capitol Hill. Next week's update will be expanded to include inside information on the current scandals on Capitol Hill.

MAY DAY IN AMERICA - The Religious Freedom Coalition is a sponsor of May Day 2010. OUR MIDDLE EAST PROJECTS - I have received numerous e-mails from individuals asking why I do not post information in these updates on certain of the projects of the Religious Freedom Coalition in the Middle East. The answer: I post as much as I can. I can't post photos that show locations of the faces of individuals. I can't post comments that would allow Muslims to learn the location of food distribution centers or education centers. To post material the way it is done by some organizations for work in places like Haiti, for example, would cause attacks on the facilities and perhaps even lead to the deaths of individuals. I can only post on the Internet what I feel will not endanger others.
