OBAMA'S ABSOLUTE ENFORCER - President elect Barack Hussein Obama has made his first major decision and managed to anger people here and abroad. He picked Rahm Emanuel as his Chief of Staff, an often-profane, combative Chicago congressman who worked in the Clinton Administration. Emanuel is a multi-millionaire, having made his money in investment banking, the kind of banking that has nearly bankrupted our financial system. He is also Jewish, which has led to immediate criticism from the Muslim world. Just 24 hours before, Muslims had been proclaiming Obama "President of the World." Meanwhile Republicans say that his choice shows Obama has no intention of being bipartisan. Read more on Emanuel.

GOP SHAKE UP - The day Newt Gingrich was ousted as House Speaker by the Republican establishment and replaced with Dennis (the destroyer) Hastert, it was all downhill for the Republicans in Congress. Rather than being revolutionary, the party quickly moved to the profane and corrupt ways of the Nixon Administration. Finally there is a shake up, but some of the good guys are being tossed out and some of the bad ones are staying. It is sort of a non-shake-up. Roy Blunt, an evangelical Christian believer and social conservative, has lost his job as Whip, but Minority Leader John (The Haircut) Boehner will stay on. Boehner is a manager and not a leader. The good news is that Mike Pence will move up as Conference Chairman. He was a long time head of the Republican Study Committee which is the caucus of true conservatives within the Republican House members. Our friend Eric Cantor may move into the Whip slot. The shake up is a mixed bag and not thorough enough. Read more

This was just one of three major victories against same sex marriage on election day. Same sex Constitutional Amendments also were passed in Arizona and Florida by even wider margins. And again, it was African-American voters in Florida that led to the wide margin of the victory. Barack Obama carried Florida as he did California. John McCain carried Arizona. In Louisiana a ban against same sex couples adopting children was also passed. Read more

The Western media, particularly the liberal American press, has reported that Iraqi police have "blanketed" Mosul to protect the Christians from continued attacks by Muslims. Our contacts in Iraq tell us that if any police were sent to Mosul they are staying in their barracks. After weeks of murders, car bombings and houses set on fire, Christians just do not believe that Muslim police officers sent from Baghdad will protect them. Read more

OBAMA PULLS AHEAD - As the world economy continues to collapse, the polls indicate that Senator Barack Hussein Obama is surging ahead. Social conservatives who make up about 40% of the Republican Party are defecting to the Democrats as they watch their retirement dreams vanish to the free trade anachy. Unregulated hedge funds have over the past eight years gambled away the future of America, and the inability of President Bush and the Congress to rein them in has destroyed the Republican coalition. Most social conservatives are populists, not free traders and the Republican leadership's failure to understand that may lead to an Obama victory and a strengthening of the Democrat hold on the House and Senate.

MURTHA'S REDNECK DISTRICT - Loudmouth Congressman John Murtha of Pennsylvania recently called his constituents "racists." When this angered not only them but local media outlets, he modified his comments to say his constituents were "rednecks." Most recently he said that only the "older" constituents were "rednecks." He was apparently trying to explain why Barack Hussein Obama may not win in his district. He is now having some problems with his own reelection. Read more.

CHRISTIAN WORKER SLAIN IN KABUL - Gayle Williams, a 34-year-old dual British-South African national who helped handicapped Afghans, was shot to death as she was walking to work this week. In a statement the Taliban said she was murdered for"spreading Christianity." She was with an NGO that assists poor handicapped children. The Afghan government condemned the attack, the same Afghan government that put a man in jail for 20 years for asking a question about women's rights in class. Read more.
MORE CHRISTIANS FLEE - Nearly 10,000 Christians have fled Mosul in the last month and none are returning despite a promise of cash from the Iraqi government that has failed to protect them. That 10,000 represents half the city's Christian population. They have fled as murders and attacks on their homes continue. The Iraqi government says it sent 1,000 police to Mosul to protect Christians, but this was a lie told to the Bush Administration to appease them. No additional police have been dispatched to Mosul. WASHINGTON POST MOCKS PALIN'S FAITH - The Washington Post printed an editorial cartoon mocking Gov. Sarah Palin and all Pentecostals. The Post would not have printed anything like this about a Muslim or a Jew. The cartoon, which can be viewed here cannot be called anything other than despicable. In Nazi Germany the same kind of hate filled cartoons were printed about Jews in the Nazi controlled newspapers of Germany in the 1930's. Liberals, in their hatred and their desire for censorship, are closely related to fascists.
DEMOCRAT LEADER GOES TO MCCAIN/PALIN - In a rather astonishing announcement, one of the authors of the Democrat Party platform has announced that she will back John McCain and Sarah Palin. Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a top fund-raiser for Mrs. Clinton's primary candidacy, endorsed Senator McCain and warned that Obama would move the nation "too far to the left" Watch this exchange between her and CNN's Wolf Blitzer.
NEW VOTER GUIDE - David Barton, a true American historian, heads Wallbuilders. That organization has researched the records of both Barack Obama and John McCain and put together a voter guide based upon their actual statements and votes. You may download and distribute the guide. Click here for PDF version.

I was driving past the Pentagon on 9-11 just as flight 77 hit. My remembrance of that day was published a year later. Click here to read my personal account of 9-11.
MCCAIN AND OBAMA TAKE BREAK FOR 9-11 - The John McCain and Barack Obama campaigns set aside most of their campaigns on the seventh anniversary of the Jihad attack against the United States. The liberal media blitz against Gov. Sarah Palin did not pause . Liberals are accusing her of trying to ban books at a library (untrue); teach creationism in Alaskan public schools (untrue), and posing in a bikini with an assault rifle (also untrue despite the fact that CNN reported it). However, I did sort of like the cartoon of the Moose saying, "Be afraid, be very afraid.
THE PALIN FACTOR - Polls of Europeans, particularly the British, had Barack Obama the three to one favorite over John McCain; that was before Sarah Palin entered the picture and reminded the Brits of their beloved first ever female prime minister, Margaret Thacher. The tone of the British press has changed somewhat as can be seen from a recent article in the Daily Mail titled, A pistol-packin' Looby Loo: the Left's worst nightmare.

Congressman Putnam told me that leftist Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi had scheduled only 15 work days for the rest of year for the House. Of those days, only 14 are before the election and there is just one day of work after the election. She scheduled so few days despite the fact that most of the government's funding bills, which are already months late, need to be passed. Even bills to fund the military have not been passed. Meanwhile, Rep. Putnam said he does expect Pelosi to file dozens of bills to name post office buildings. Boy that sounds important!
SENATOR REID HAS PLANS? - Not much to report in the Senate at all. The Majority Leader of the Senate, Harry Reid, is not going to advance any legislation without the permission of Comrad Obama who is on the campaign trail and falling further behind the McCain/Palin ticket every day. Obama was going to showcase himself on the Senate floor with "education bills" but now does not have the time to come to Washington.
SENATOR BIDEN IN TROUBLE WITH BISHOPS - Two prominent U.S. Catholic bishops this week said that Democratic vice presidential nominee, Senator Joe Biden contradicted church teaching. He said on a TV interview that determining when human life begins is a "personal and private" matter of religious faith not to be imposed on others. Read more. He is just one of many pro-abortion Catholics such as Nancy Pelosi in the Democrat Party.
