Report From Washington, April 22, 2011

Muslim Brotherhood demands sharia law in Egypt / Obama helping Muslim Brotherhood? / John McCain fronts for Obama in Libya / Congress and the Ten Commandments / Liberals: Free speech kills / Son of Hamas and the Ground Zero mosque / Palm Sunday Church attack in Pakistan / Good Friday attack on church averted in Indonesia / Saudi Arabia arrests Christians

GOOD FRIDAY - This is the day that Our Lord suffered the cross as a sacrifice that all who believe may have eternal life. What appeared to be defeat to His tearful followers became a victory over death as He arose the 3rd day. May God bless you on this Holy Day

RESIDENCY

Cross Swords logo of the Muslim Brotherhood EGYPT: WORSE THAN WE THOUGHT - President Obama's National Intelligence Director said in February, "The term 'Muslim Brotherhood' is an umbrella term for a variety of movements, in the case of Egypt, a very heterogeneous group, largely secular, which has eschewed violence and has decried Al-Qaida as a perversion of Islam." (See video) This week, Mahmoud Ezzat, the Muslim Brotherhood's deputy Supreme Guide, told a forum in Cairo that the group wants to establish an Islamic state in Egypt. Read more
MCCAIN FRONTS FOR OBAMA - On Good Friday morning Senator John McCain toured Benghazi, Libya and made rather bizarre contradictory remarks. He said he was there to "learn who the rebels are" and then later said that the rebels are "my heroes." Why would the aging Senator call a group of Muslim fighters, some of whom formerly fought and killed our troops in Afghanistan, "heroes?" Obama is destroying the last vestiges of secular governments in North Africa such as in Egypt, and they are being replaced by extremists Muslims; and Senator McCain is all smiles about the result. McCain's comments must sound odd to the families of the men who died at the hands of these fighters in Afghanistan.

THE CONGRESS
CONGRESSIONAL RESOLUTION FOR TEN COMMANDMENTS - Just before the Easter Recess began, Congressman Louis Gohmert (R-TX) introduced H. Res 211, the Ten Commandments Weekend Resolution. The resolution supports the designation of the first weekend of May as Ten Commandments Weekend, a time to recognize the significant contributions the Ten Commandments have made in shaping the principles, institutions, and national character of the United States. Contact your congressman to co-sponsor and support H. Res. 211.
CONGRESS IN RECESS - The House and Senate are in "Spring Break" recess and will not return to session until May 2, 2011. No votes will occur prior to 6:00 PM on that date. Majority Leader's Calendar

RELIGION AND CULTURE
FREE SPEECH KILLS PEOPLE - This is the common argument of the Huffington Post, President Obama and General Petraeus when dealing with Islam. They all argue that those who are critical of Islam are causing Muslims to kill people. This is also the rationale of the psychopath who beats his wife: "She made me do it." Dr. Nicolai Sennels discusses the phenomena in The Psychopath's Argument: Free Speech Kills People
APRIL 7th CHAIRMAN'S REPORT ONLINE - In this issue: America's new Libyan "allies" are former Gitmo residents, terrorists / Obama wants to fund Gaddafi - no, wait - Gaddafi must go! / Senator Durbin's staff has ties to Islamic extremists? / Congressional caucus saves condemned Afghan Christian / New bill to forbid the use of foreign law in U.S. courts / "In God We Trust' Resolution passes House. NO 911 MOSQUE!
SON OF HAMAS WARNS AGAINST GZ MOSQUE - Last year, Mosab Hassan Yousef, whose father founded Hamas discussed on the Fox Business Channel why he feels the construction of the mosque in New York is a grave mistake. He said that building the mosque "on a graveyard" was like pouring "acid" on a wound. Yousef is the author of Son of Hamas. Although this was a short interview, Yousef made some powerful points about Feisal Rauf and his agenda. This interview is a great reminder of the real situation. Please pass it around. Watch here!

INTERNATIONAL
PALM SUNDAY ATTACK IN PAKISTAN - Tensions are still running high in Pakistan where hundreds of Muslims on Saturday attacked the Christian village of Khokarki. The Muslims had organized a demonstration against a Christian man, Mushtaq Gill, and his son for allegedly desecrating the Qur'an. The mob wanted to "punish them publicly" before any police investigation was actually carried out. Read more
GOOD FRIDAY DISASTER AVERTED IN INDONESIA - Indonesian Muslim Jihadists planted nine bombs, one weighing almost a 1,000 pounds near a cathedral in Serpong, just west of Jakarta. Some were placed under a gas pipeline to cause large numbers of casualties. Police learned of the bombs while questioning terror suspects who had sent letter bombs to officials. National police spokesman Anton Bachrul Alam said the bombs were timed to explode as Christian worshipers arrived at the church to celebrate Good Friday.
SAUDI ARABIA ARRESTS CHRISTIANS - Hundreds of Thousands of Christians from all over the world are hired to work in Saudi Arabia, but they are not allowed to worship the Lord. Two Indian Christians of a thriving Pentecostal house church are now in prison in Riyadh. Vasantha Sekhar Vara, 28, and Nese Yohan, 31, who are members of the "Rejoice in the Church of the Lord" congregation have been in "pre-trail" detention. In India, Vara's pastor, Ajay Kuma Jeldi, said that Vara had told him by telephone that he had been pressured in prison to convert to Islam, but had refused. Week Ending January 11, 2008 - Washington, DC

President Bush in Israel to bring "peace" / Will it be "Ms. President" next year? / What I saw and heard in New Hampshire / More parents kill more of their kids / Iraqi Churches and convents burned this week

THE PRESIDENT
BUSH IN ISRAEL - What do Presidents Carter, Reagan, Bush 41, Clinton, and Bush 43 have in common? All of them declared they would bring peace to the Middle East with a treaty. So far they have collectively convinced Israel to give up land and safety in return for more and more terror. Now President George W. Bush is there trying to get the Fatah controlled Palestinian "government" to sign a treaty with Israel that the HAMAS controlled Gaza has already said it will not honor. All that the President is going to accomplish here is to make Israel even more vulnerable. My advice to the President: Come home and help us bring down the cost of gasoline and forget about signing treaties with Muslims who have no intention of honoring them anyway.

MS PRESIDENT? Hillary makes a comeback in New Hampshire. Everyone in the state who wanted a handout voted for her, and that gave her the edge. Exit polls show single mothers, welfare recipients, the unemployed and the elderly voted overwhelmingly for her. These groups are convinced that once Hillary is sworn in she will be able to deliver big bucks to them from taxes collected from intact middle class families. Meanwhile, college age kids who have yet to have taxes taken out of real pay checks voted for Barack Obama.

MORE ON NEW HAMPSHIRE- I spent several days in New Hampshire leading up to the primary election there. I have met every single Republican candidate and talked at length, at one time or another, to all of them except Rudy Giuliani who just doesn't talk one-on-one with many people . A summary of some of my activities, which you may find of interest, can be found at my political blog at www.gingpac.org.

FOUR DEAD PLUS FOUR DEAD - In Washington, DC a mother murdered her four children and then lived in the house with them for weeks. In Alabama a father tossed his four children off of a high bridge. We are separating death from reality in this nation as TV programs like CSI dissect bodies on TV, and liberal Democrats tell us how great it is that 48 million Americans have been murdered by the abortionist's knife. We need a President who will get on the bully pulpit and say enough is enough. I thought George W. Bush was that man, but he has became so distracted by the war in Iraq that his bully pulpit stands vacant most of the time. The nation desperately needs a leader who not only respects human life, but will say so publicly and more than just occasionally.

INTERNATIONAL
BOMBINGS FOR CHRISTMAS - On the two days when the Orthodox Church celebrates Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, four churches and three convents were bombed in two Iraqi cities. Just before the bombings, people in Christian neighborhoods received notices from Al Quaida that they would be bombing churches for Christmas. According to the Bush Administration everything is back to normal in Iraq now and refugees can come home -- that is, if they are Muslims. The bombings occurred primarily in Baghdad and Mosul. More information.

WATCH THE VIDEO ON IRAQI CHRISTIANS- Thousands of people have viewed the new video on the persecution of Iraqi Christians that is streaming from the Religious Freedom Coalition Internet site.
