THE PRESIDENCY 

OBAMA: GENDER SELECTIVE ABORTIONS OK - Apparently President Barack Obama has never met an abortion he didn't like. Although virtually every European nation and Canada prohibit abortions done selectively by sex, Obama said he was against any law prohibiting abortions based on the sex of the child. With his support, Democrats defeated a bill in the House that would outlaw abortions for the purpose of sex selection. Undercover videos revealed, and Planned Parenthood confirmed, that it would abort children based on sex except in the four states where doing so is illegal. Read more

CONGRESS 

PRENDA VOTE - My good friend Congressman Trent Franks (R-AZ) introduced H.R. 3541, the Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act (PRENDA) after learning that Planned Parenthood would abort babies for the purpose of sex-selection. The bill was considered under suspension, requiring a two-thirds majority to pass. PRENDA failed to reach the two-thirds majority. The final vote of 246 to 168 was because of massive Democrat opposition. A total of 7 Republicans and 161 Democrats did not agree with most Americans, that abortions based on sex-selection are wrong. BLACK PASTORS ON SAME SEX MARRIAGE - Shortly after President Obama and the NAACP endorsed same-sex marriage as a civil liberties issue, African-American pastors met in Washington, DC and were interviewed on the issue. The vast majority do not believe marriage rites should be extended to homosexuals and lesbians. Read more

NO SHARIA FOR KANSAS -A bill banning foreign laws, including Sharia Islamic law, from being used in Kansas to determine legal matters was signed by GOP Kansas Governor Sam Brownback recently. Both the Kansas House and Senate had voted overwhelmingly in favor. While opponents say Muslim tenets are unfairly targeted by the legislation, supporters say it is designed to uphold the U.S. Constitution. Read more

NO STRAIGHT SEX FOR CALIFORNIA - The California Senate voted 23-13 in favor of a bill prohibiting counselors and therapists from telling young people it is possible to change same-sex attractions. The bill has sparked outrage from individuals who have overcome unwanted same-sex feelings sparked by childhood sexual abuse. It is also being opposed by Pacific Justice Institute, whose attorneys believe its blanket ban on certain types of counseling is unconstitutional. Read more

MORE DEATH THREATS FOR GEERT WILDERS - Police in Amsterdam have arrested the spokesperson of the Islamist group Sharia4Holland on charges of making death threats against the Dutch Freedom Party leader, Geert Wilders. Abu Qasim was arrested after a speech he gave in Amsterdam's central Dam Square on May 25 (video here), when he warned that Wilders would be "dealt with" once the Netherlands became an Islamic state.
UK PRISON INMATES FORCED TO CONVERT TO ISLAM - Prisoners are under pressure to convert to an Islamic "gang" at a high-security jail, with non-Muslims in fear of violence just for cooking bacon, according to an official report. Muslim prisoners at the top security jail doubled in two years. Muslims represent around a third of all prisoners at Whitemoor Prison in Cambridgeshire. Prison guards said they had a policy of "appeasement" towards the powerful and growing Islamic population, particularly convicted terrorists who were feared to be recruiting future extremists. SECOND ISLAMIC CONQUEST OF EGYPT - According to the popular Egyptian website, El Bashayer, the Muslim Brotherhood presidential candidate, Muhammad Morsi, has just declared that he will "achieve the Islamic conquest (fath) of Egypt for the second time. Morsi says he will make all Christians convert to Islam, or else pay the jizya," the traditional Islamic tax or financial tribute required of non-Muslim "dhimmis." Read more

OBAMA'S STEM CELL MADNESS - Embryonic stem cells don't work. Every experiment with them has failed, yet governments spend hundreds of millions of dollars on this holy grail imagined by mad scientists. Now Barack Obama has authorized the used of federal funds for this Frankenstein type madness.

House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) spoke out against Obama's plan when he stated, "The Administration's decision to dramatically expand the number of stem cell lines derived from human embryos, and create incentives for the destruction of human life, is a provocative step beyond what the President proposed just months ago and yet another sign that he has quickly retreated from his promise to 'be a President for all Americans.' ... I urge the President to reconsider this decision and instead join Republicans in supporting bipartisan solutions such as Rep. Randy Forbes' Patients First Act, which would promote proven adult stem cell research that does not force taxpayers to aid in the destruction of human life." We commend Congressman John Boehner for speaking out as a leader on this issue.

USA SAFER WITH OBAMA IN EUROPE? - President Barack Obama is busy in Europe apologizing for the very existence of the Untied States and promising to destroy our economy and way of life by reducing "our" carbon footprint. The mainstream USA media reports on his antics in Europe as if he is a god. What does the European media think of him? One UK paper op-ed referred to him as the Loony Tunes president. Apparently some in Europe have noticed the obvious. Without his teleprompter, Obama has not much to say.

THE CONGRESS

TWO SENATORS SAY HUMAN LIFE IS SACRED - Sen. Brownback (R-KS) and Sen. Landrieu (D-LA), introduced the Human-Animal Hybrid Prohibition Act (S.1435) in July. The bill would prohibit the creation of human-animal hybrids. "This legislation works to ensure that our society recognizes the dignity and sacredness of human life," said Brownback. "Creating human-animal hybrids, which permanently alter the genetic makeup of an organism, will challenge the very definition of what it means to be human and is a violation of human dignity and a grave injustice." Commercial laboratories claim combining animal and human DBA can help create cures for various illnesses. Social conservatives see a huge moral issue. Read more

"IN GOD WE TRUST" RESOLUTION PASSES - Congressman Dan Lungren's (R-CA) resolution in the House will correct a problem in the new Capitol Visitor Center, through which everyone entering the Capitol must now pass. Although planned and built during the Bush Administration, there were no references to God in the new facility, not even the National Motto, "In God We Trust." On July 9th, House Resolution 131 was passed by a huge margin. Only the hard core socialists in the Democrat Party and Ron Paul voted against it. The full title of the bill was: Directing the Architect of the Capitol to engrave the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and the National Motto of "In God we trust" in the Capitol Visitor Center. AMERICA'S SPIRITUAL HERITAGE - There is growing support for Randy Forbes' H.Res.397, "America's Spiritual Heritage Resolution." We have 66 co-sponsors from both parties so far. This resolution details the Judeo-Christian heritage of our nation. Momentum began to build when Dr. Tom Price (R-GA), who leads the Republican Study Committee, recommended it to the group. Within 24 hours of his recommendation, twenty members of the Republican Study Committee signed on.

TAXPAYER FUNDED ABORTIONS - Congressman Todd Tiarht (R-KS) this month introduced an amendment to a funding bill to prohibit taxpayer dollars from being used to fund abortions in Washington, D.C. Tiahrt's amendment would have reinstated a 14-year-old prohibition on publicly-funded abortions that radical leftist Speaker Nancy Pelosi stripped out this year at the request of President Obama. His amendment was defeated in Committee. Read more

NY TO BUY HUMAN EGGS - Cash strapped New York State is slated to spend $600 million on embryonic stem cell research. As part of the grants offered the state will pay $10,000 for women to "donate" their eggs for the research. Frankensteinish scientists claim they will one day be able to cure any decease with embryonic stem cells. With billions of dollars spent not one illness has been successfully treated by using the cells of destroyed embryos. However, dozens of deceases, some deadly, have been cured with the use of adult stem cells. Read more

ARE WE DONE WITH MICHEAL JACKSON? - I am not a pop music fan, but I am sure Michael Jackson was a terrific entertainer. He sold lots of CD's and sung to sold out shows. At one time he made a ton of money. But he was sure no civil rights hero and was probably a pervert who preferred young boys to grown women. That said I found the coverage of his death overdone and so did Congressman Peter King. (See Foxnews) At about the same time TV pitchman Billy Mays died. THE MIRACLE OF AMI ORTIZ - Several times I have mentioned the bomb injuries Ami Ortiz, the son of my good friends David and Leah Ortiz who live in Ariel in the heart of Samaria. At first everyone believed the bomb was planted by Palestinian Muslims upset about the the number of converts David Ortiz had won to the Lord. It is now apparent, however, that the bombing of their apartment was perpetrated by extreme orthodox Jews upset with the converts David had won over to the Lord in the Jewish community. OBAMA'S STEM CELL LIE- There is a huge difference between adult stem cells and embryonic stem cells. Adult stem cell research has provided real cures for real illnesses. I have met and shaken hands with a man who had all his Parkinson's disease symptoms relieved by adult stem cell treatment. On the other hand, embryonic stem cells have provided no cures and have actually caused injury. The embryonic stem cell "science" is obsolete and there is just nothing there that will ever help anyone. Why then did President Obama begin taxpayer funding of this obsolete science? He claimed he did it to cure five illnesses he listed, but it was adult stem cells that have yielded the cures in all five areas. Is Obama just flat out ignorant on the subject, OR is he satisfying the pro-death lobby in the Democrat party that wants to play with embryos to prove they are just cells and not real people? If that is the case perhaps Obama should invite a snowflake baby to the White House. Snowflake babies develop from embryos adopted from suspended animation. ARCHBISHOP HITS SEBELIUS NOMINATION - There is an angry reaction from the Catholic Church to President Obama's selection of Governor Kathleen Sebelius to head Health and Human Resources (HHS). "As a Roman Catholic, her appointment [as Secretary of Health and Human Services] is the source of the greatest embarrassment because she has publicly and repeatedly betrayed her Catholic Faith..." said Archbishop Raymond L. Burke. Read more

Meanwhile, yet another woman has been rushed to the hospital from the abortion clinic in Kansas run by George Tiller, whom Governor Sebelius honored at the governor's mansion with a party. He also faces criminal charges for late term abortions. Read more

THE CONGRESS

BROWNBACK TO CLINTON: IRAQI CHRISTIANS NEED HELP - Former Senator Hillary Clinton, who is now Secretary of State, is receiving numerous letters from congressmen and Senators about her human rights policy. I previously reported on a letter to her by Congressman Wolf, and now Senator Sam Brownback has also written her a letter concerning Iraqi Christians. Apparently the Obama Administration has no interest in human rights, and has dispatched Hillary Clinton to China and the Middle East to borrow money for the President's agenda. You read that right: Hillary Clinton has asked the Chinese and the Saudis to please continue to buy U.S. Treasury bonds so Obama can spend and spend and spend. Meanwhile people in China and the "Muslim world" suffer repression, as Obama and Clinton look the other way. See Brownback letter.

WOLF HOUNDS THE FBI - During most of the Bush Administration, the FBI turned for advice on "Islamic issues" to a group with terrorist ties, the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Then, there was an investigation of American fund raisers accused of funneling money to Hamas. This case resulted in criminal convictions, and CAIR was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator. The FBI claimed it was severing its ties to Council on American-Islamic Relations, but it appears that may not be the case. Congressman Frank Wolf (R-VA) is demanding answers from the FBI, and all he is getting is the run around. What exactly is the FBI's relationship with this group? Read more

CONGRESSWOMAN WATERS TELLS THE TRUTH? - Can a liberal congresswoman like Maxine Waters actually tell the truth and expose the real agenda of the Obama/Pelosi regime? Waters, with a slip of the tongue, told oil executives exactly what the liberals (socialists) in the Congress want: the nationalization of the oil companies. REAGAN TRIED TO CONVERT SOVIET LEADER - An American whose job it was to take notes at a summit meeting between President Ronald Reagan and Soviet Leader Mikhail Gorbachev, recalled an attempt by our President to convert the Soviet leader from atheism. Rudolf Perina said, "Reagan thought he could convert Gorbachev, or make him see the light." HILLARY CLINTON IS BLIND TO ABUSE OF WOMEN - In Saudi Arabia, a 75-year-old widow was sentenced to 40 lashes with a whip and four months in prison for "mingling" with two young men, one of whom was her nephew, because they brought her some bread. Don't hold your breath waiting for Secretary of State Clinton or President Obama to say a word about this injustice. Instead Clinton flew to the Middle East to beg the Saudis to continue buying U.S. Treasury Bonds so President Obama can continue his spending spree. Read more

BRITISH MP KISSES GAZA STRIP GROUND - Just a few weeks after the cowards who run the UK government refused entry to Geert Wilders, a member of the UK Parliament appeared in the Gaza strip and kissed the ground while railing insults toward Israel. Sort of puts things in perspective, doesn't it? Because of the Muslim influence in the UK, the nation has become officially anti-Semitic and it would be wise for Jews to get out while they still can. THE PRESIDENT

OBAMA AND THE JEWS- On May 8th I attended a Washington, DC celebration for the 60 anniversary of the founding of modern Israel. The announced speakers were Vice President Cheney and Senator Lieberman (I-CT). I was a little surprised when early in the program Senator Barack Obama appeared on stage to credit President Truman for his recognition of Israel's independence. During his remarks he said that American would always be a friend and defender of Israel. What I found odd about this was the anti-Semitic nature of the church Senator Obama was a member of for two decades. At the end of his remarks he came off stage and waded into the crowd. When he got to me he shook my hand and thanked me for my support. It was obviously a case of mistaken identity.

BUSH ADMINISTRATION STILL PUNISHES THOSE WHO PAY RANSOM - Several weeks ago I reported that Iraqi Christian families have been refused admission to the United States because they "aided terrorists" by paying ransom to get their kidnapped loved ones back. These families have actually been added to terrorist lists by our government. Despite my repeated calls and e-mails to the White House and State Department there has been no explanation for this rather bizarre rule. Click here for story by Ken Timmerman.

GOODBYE HILLARY? - Virtually all the pundits now declare that the Democrats have their nominee and it is time for Hillary Clinton to step aside for Barack Obama. One voice calling for her to withdraw is that of Senator Ted Kennedy. Yet, when he ran for president in 1980 he refused to step aside even though he was 500 delegate votes behind Gov. Jimmy Carter. He carried his campaign to the floor of the convention. Senator Obama says he will have the delegates needed by May 20th to tell Hillary bye bye.

THE CONGRESS

TEN COMMANDMENTS ON THE HILL - On May 8th I participated in a press conference on the steps of the Supreme Court supporting Ten Commandment resolutions with Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, director, Christian Defense Coalition and Rev. Rob Schenck, president, of Faith and Action. Those present showed support for Ten Commandments resolutions filed by Senator Brownback (R-KS) in the Senate and Congressman Todd Akin (R-MO) in the House. Both resolutions stating that the Ten Commandments are the "cornerstone" of Western law are being blocked by the Democrat leadership of the House and Senate. WEEDING OUT THE UNBORN - U.S. Senators Sam Brownback (R-KS) and Edward Kennedy (D-MA) authored the an adverse prognosis opt for abortion because they are not given other choices.

Senator Brownback said. "The effect of this sort of 'weeding out' is creating new eugenics, a form of systematic, disability-based discrimination. Once you go down the path of valuing some lives more than others, of saying that people with disabilities don't have the same dignity and right to live as others, there are very few means that don't justify the so-called 'worthy end' of a disability-free society."

MILITARY HONOR AND DECENCY - The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1997 stated, in part, that "The Secretary of Defense may not permit the sale or rental of sexually explicit material on property under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defense." However, broad definitions in the statute have created a loophole which allows publications such as Playboy, Penthouse, and similar material to be sold at military exchange stores. Congressman Paul Broun (R-GA) has introduced the Military Honor and Decency Act, (HR- 5821) to close the loophole and stop all sales of pornographic material on military bases.

RELIGION AND SOCIETY

NO ISLAMIC TERRORISM? - Official US documents are being circulated advising federal agencies not to use the terms "Islamic" or "Muslim" in the same sentence as al Qaeda or the words terror or terrorist. The NCTC (National Counter Terrorism Center) says to "avoid calling anything Muslim." Not even the word "jihad" is to be used. The NCTC claims that using these terms causes Muslims to believe we are against them. I bet there is no ban on using the word "Christian" in the same sentence with the word "terrorist." I have sent a query to the NCTC to find out if the words "goofy" and "bureaucrat" in the same sentence is also forbidden. See UPI story

MODERN ISRAEL TURNS 60 - I would rather not admit it, but the modern nation of Israel is two years younger than me. I was two years old when David Ben Gurion delivered Israel's declaration of independence. Just 11 minutes later President Harry Truman, despite his own State Department being against him, gave US recognition of the new nation thus assuring its legitimacy. Events were held all over the world in celebration. At the Washington, DC event both liberals and conservatives attended. One of those in attendance was Teamsters Union president Jimmy Hoffa, Jr., who has done a pretty good job of stemming corruption and cleaning up the union's image. I talked to Mr. Hoffa for sometime and learned of his future plans for a lengthy visit to the Holy Land with his family. THE PRESIDENT

THERE REALLY IS A VICE PRESIDENT- The press and the late night comics are always making jokes about Vice President Cheney being in an "undisclosed location," and it is true he is rarely seen. However, he did manage to make it to a fund raising event on Thursday night for two candidates my political action committee supports, Bob Latta (OH-5) and Rob Wittman (VA-1) Both candidates, who are running for the House in special elections on December 11th, are 100% pro-life social conservatives and emphasize that fact at their Internet sites. In his remarks not even once did the Vice President mention the social issues these men support. Rather, he talked about how they would lower taxes and vote to protect the nation. There is just a disconnect between Republican leadership and the party base.

THANKSGIVING PROCLAMATION - President George W. Bush has issued his annual Thanksgiving Proclamation saying, "Our country was founded by men and women who realized their dependence on God and were humbled by His providence and grace." Click here to read the full proclamation.

THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE - Surprise, Surprise .... The respected Rasmussen Poll now shows Gov. Mike Huckabee tied for 2nd place nationally. Another poll shows Romney and Huckabee within 2 points of each other in Iowa. Meanwhile Rev. Pat Robertson has bet his reputation on pro-abortion candidate Mayor Rudy Guiliani. THE HOUSE

HOUSE IN RECESS - The House went into recess on Thursday for Thanksgiving and will not return until December 3rd. The House will then be in session for about one week before the Christmas break, (holiday break if you're a Democrat.) Meanwhile the House has passed only 105 bills, and 47 of those were to name buildings such as post offices. More than 40 other bills were extensions of previous Republican legislation. Not a single appropriations bill to fund the government for the fiscal year has been passed, but there have been 58 votes on withdrawing our troops from Iraq. So little actual work is being done under radical Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi that we may hit 2008 with virtually nothing on the President's desk for his signature.

LITTLE BOOK OF BIG GOVERNMENT- Will Rogers said, "The only difference between death and taxes is that death does not get worse every time Congress meets." The Democrat controlled Congress wants to spend $2.17 trillion next year. Minority Whip Roy Blunt has put together an amazing little book of facts and figures about big government that includes fascinating information such as how long it takes to spend a billion dollars at $1,000 a day. FAIRNESS DOCTRINE- Congressman Mike Pence has now persuaded all but six House Republicans to sign a discharge petition to bring legislation to the floor that would stop a future Administration from imposing the FCC "fairness doctrine" which is a killer of free speech. Pence introduced the legislation because radical Democrats want to "level the playing field" by forcing conservative talk show hosts to give equal time to liberals. WHAT HAPPENED NANCY? - The latest Gallup Panel survey, conducted Oct. 25-28, 2007, asked Americans whether they were "pleased," "neutral," "disappointed," or "angry" about the way the Democrats in Congress have been dealing with major issues under San Francisco radical Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Few Americans are pleased. Only 7% approved of the handling of the federal budget deficit and just 17% approve of their handling of terrorism. Between 12% and 26% are angry about various issues. In general the majority of Americans say they are disappointed with the congressional Democrats' performance so far. Click here for Gallup story.

THE SENATE

KENNEDY'S "HATE CRIMES" ALIVE- Senator Ted Kennedy's bill to punish people for having bad thoughts about homosexuals has been hidden in the DOD (Department of Defense Authorization Bill) in a dishonest attempt to try to force President Bush to sign it into law. Like ENDA in the House, Kennedy's legislation would give homosexuals super rights not enjoyed by the rest of Americans. Under his bill, if there is a mass shooting, such as there was at Virginia Tech, it would be more of a crime to shoot a homosexual than a normal heterosexual. Does this make sense at all? Conservative Senators are holding the line so far. if Kennedy's super rights for homosexuals is part of the DOD authorization, President Bush has said he will veto it.

HEATED PRIMARY - This week I met with Dr. Walter "Buddy" Witherspoon of South Carolina. He is a Committeeman to the Republican National Committee and has set up an "exploratory committee" to perhaps run against oddball Republican Senator Lindsey Graham. Last year Senator Graham told South Carolinians that they were just bigots if they didn't want to share their state with illegals. His popularity is way down and a conservative Democrat could win the seat if someone does not get the Republican nomination away from Graham. He just cannot be trusted on social conservative issues.

FAITH IS A WINNING MESSAGE - In an article written for the Washington Post, Senator Sam Brownback said,

"On the campaign trail I talked about being pro-life and whole-life. This is, first and foremost, recognition of the fundamental dignity of every human person. It says that every person, at every stage and in every place, is a beautiful and unique child of God. It says that every life, everywhere, has value and is worth fighting for. I think this is a winning message. Unfortunately, the GOP primary process this year, as in times past, has been more focused on "electability" than on message. I believe that's the wrong focus. Recent history has shown that when we as a party focus on message, we win; when we get bogged down with questions about which personality is most 'electable,' we lose."

The Senator dropped out of the race for lack of funds just as the winds began to shift and GOP voters started to look past the "electability" of Rudy Giuliani toward the "message" of Mike Huckabee. RELIGION AND CULTURE

FAITHFUL CITIZENSHIP - Catholic Bishops meeting in Baltimore, Maryland this week passed a statement entitled "Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship." The document outlines the citizenship and voting responsibilities of Catholics in the United States. The liberal press immediately attacked the statement and liberal "scholars" promptly stated that Catholics would ignore it. It is true that many who were born Catholics and have not attended Mass in years may not pay too much regard to the Bishops' statement. Practicing Catholics, however, probably will. NEW YORK'S ILLEGAL DRIVERS - With the polls showing more than 70% of New Yorkers against him, Democrat Gov. Eliot Spitzer gave up on his plan to issue drivers' licenses to tens of thousands of illegal aliens. He made the bizarre claim that he planned to issue the licenses to force the illegals to pay for auto insurance. The ruling class in America, including the liberal media, see nothing wrong with giving anyone entering the nation illegally a driver's license. Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was all for it until she saw the poll numbers; now she just is not sure. FEAR NOT ILLEGALS! You can still get a license in Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington.

INTERNATIONAL

MORE PERSECUTION IN "SECULAR" EGYPT - Two members of a Canadian based human rights organization in Egypt and their attorney were arrested in Cairo on November 10 by State Security Investigations (SSI). Wagih Yaakoob, official spokesman for the Middle East Christians Association (MECA) and Victor George, an administrator of the association's voice room on the "Pal Talk" messenger, were taken to Lazoghly State Security headquarters in Cairo for interrogation. Later in the day SSI officers in Alexandria arrested the association's attorney, Mamdouh Azmy, who was also taken to Cairo for interrogation. Reportedly, they are being accused of belittling Islam. IRAQI CHRISTIAN REFUGEES - Father Keith Roderick and I are just about done with the final report on our Fact Finding mission on Iraqi Christian Refugees. The final report and recommendations have taken longer than we thought; however, I believe a full report will be available by the next update release next week.
