THE PRESIDENCY 

OBAMA: GENDER SELECTIVE ABORTIONS OK - Apparently President Barack Obama has never met an abortion he didn't like. Although virtually every European nation and Canada prohibit abortions done selectively by sex, Obama said he was against any law prohibiting abortions based on the sex of the child. With his support, Democrats defeated a bill in the House that would outlaw abortions for the purpose of sex selection. Undercover videos revealed, and Planned Parenthood confirmed, that it would abort children based on sex except in the four states where doing so is illegal. Read more

CONGRESS 

PRENDA VOTE - My good friend Congressman Trent Franks (R-AZ) introduced H.R. 3541, the Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act (PRENDA) after learning that Planned Parenthood would abort babies for the purpose of sex-selection. The bill was considered under suspension, requiring a two-thirds majority to pass. PRENDA failed to reach the two-thirds majority. The final vote of 246 to 168 was because of massive Democrat opposition. A total of 7 Republicans and 161 Democrats did not agree with most Americans, that abortions based on sex-selection are wrong. BLACK PASTORS ON SAME SEX MARRIAGE - Shortly after President Obama and the NAACP endorsed same-sex marriage as a civil liberties issue, African-American pastors met in Washington, DC and were interviewed on the issue. The vast majority do not believe marriage rites should be extended to homosexuals and lesbians. Read more

NO SHARIA FOR KANSAS -A bill banning foreign laws, including Sharia Islamic law, from being used in Kansas to determine legal matters was signed by GOP Kansas Governor Sam Brownback recently. Both the Kansas House and Senate had voted overwhelmingly in favor. While opponents say Muslim tenets are unfairly targeted by the legislation, supporters say it is designed to uphold the U.S. Constitution. Read more

NO STRAIGHT SEX FOR CALIFORNIA - The California Senate voted 23-13 in favor of a bill prohibiting counselors and therapists from telling young people it is possible to change same-sex attractions. The bill has sparked outrage from individuals who have overcome unwanted same-sex feelings sparked by childhood sexual abuse. It is also being opposed by Pacific Justice Institute, whose attorneys believe its blanket ban on certain types of counseling is unconstitutional. Read more

MORE DEATH THREATS FOR GEERT WILDERS - Police in Amsterdam have arrested the spokesperson of the Islamist group Sharia4Holland on charges of making death threats against the Dutch Freedom Party leader, Geert Wilders. Abu Qasim was arrested after a speech he gave in Amsterdam's central Dam Square on May 25 (video here), when he warned that Wilders would be "dealt with" once the Netherlands became an Islamic state.
UK PRISON INMATES FORCED TO CONVERT TO ISLAM - Prisoners are under pressure to convert to an Islamic "gang" at a high-security jail, with non-Muslims in fear of violence just for cooking bacon, according to an official report. Muslim prisoners at the top security jail doubled in two years. Muslims represent around a third of all prisoners at Whitemoor Prison in Cambridgeshire. Prison guards said they had a policy of "appeasement" towards the powerful and growing Islamic population, particularly convicted terrorists who were feared to be recruiting future extremists. SECOND ISLAMIC CONQUEST OF EGYPT - According to the popular Egyptian website, El Bashayer, the Muslim Brotherhood presidential candidate, Muhammad Morsi, has just declared that he will "achieve the Islamic conquest (fath) of Egypt for the second time. Morsi says he will make all Christians convert to Islam, or else pay the jizya," the traditional Islamic tax or financial tribute required of non-Muslim "dhimmis." Read more

PRESIDENCY 
KILLING THE MARKETS TO SAVE THEM - Every week for the past six weeks the price of both oil and gasoline has fallen. This week President Barack Obama decided to release oil from the emergency reserves held by the US government. These reserves are for catastrophic situations -- not market interference. The last time the reserves were used was during the Katrina disaster when oil wells in the Gulf of Mexico were shut down. The release of oil, coordinated with other nations trying to "stop speculators" from pushing up the price of oil, caused the stock market to drop almost 2%. Did Obama not realize that traders who buy oil contracts also buy insurance on those contracts? The speculators were not hurt, but those issuing the insurance sure were. Because Obama interfered with the market there has been major disruption in the natural trading order. Oil company stocks, which are the backbone of many retirement funds, fell drastically. The effect on the actual price of gas? About five cents a gallon -- and that is temporary.
DONATE BIG TO OBAMA, GET A BIG JOB - Does Obama reward big money bundlers with jobs, commissions, stimulus money, government contracts, and more? Well, after two years in office nearly 200 of his biggest donors have received government jobs and posts or won federal contracts worth millions of dollars. This according to a study by The Center for Public Integrity which is available on Iwatch.

THE CONGRESS 

SENATORS: PROTECT RELIGIOUS FREEDOM IN MIDDLE EAST - This week U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (R - MO) introduced legislation that would create a new U.S. Department of State special envoy for religious minorities in the Middle East, aimed at promoting and protecting religious freedoms. U.S. Senator Carl Levin (D-MI), Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, is an original co-sponsor of the legislation. Blunt said, "As we observe political upheavals throughout the Middle East, I expect this bill will encourage the State Department to redouble its efforts to call attention to all religious minorities and demonstrate to leaders in the region that the United States takes religious freedom seriously."

RELIGION AND CULTURE 

WILDERS AND FREEDOM OF SPEECH - Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders was acquitted of "hate speech" charges by a Dutch court, after a circus of a trial during which the government attempted to jail him for telling the truth about Islam. Wilders, who leads the third largest political party in the Netherlands, said, "This is not so much a win for myself, but a victory for freedom of speech." It may be a relief to him that he will not spend the next 16 months in jail, but the way in which he was acquitted did not change the law under which he was prosecuted; it is still on the books. DELTA AIRLINES' NO JEWS POLICY - Imagine the protests in the streets if Delta Airlines were to tell Muslims that they could not fly somewhere because the local customs would not permit them to enter that country? Those situations are impossible to conceive because they could never happen, right? But Delta Airlines is facing a similar moral dilemma as they get ready to complete an alliance with Saudi Arabian Airlines. The Delta-Saudi deal means adding Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAA) to Delta's SkyTeam Alliance. For the first time, this would allow Delta passengers to fly direct into Saudi Arabia, as long as passengers are not Jewish, do not have a passport from Israel or a passport that is stamped from Israel. MUSLIMS KILL AGAIN IN NIGERIA - This past week at least two Christians were killed in an attack on a police station in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria. This is the first suicide bombing outside of the Islamic controlled north of the country and shows that the Islamic terror organization Boko Haram is expanding its operations. Previous killings of security officers, politicians and clerics have occurred in the Muslim north where the group is trying to enforce strict sharia law. The name of the group translates as "Western education is sacrilege." RELEASE ASIA BIBI NOW - Pakistani Christians are demanding the release of Asia Bibi, mother of five, who has been falsely accused of blasphemy and jailed for nearly two years. In a recent article on the Egyptian crisis Gaffney went on to explain, "In Iran, shariah is already the law of the land, ruthlessly enforced by the Shiite theocrats of Tehran. In Egypt, the Mubarak regime's failure faithfully to enforce shariah is one of the principal impetuses behind the Iranian mullahs' Sunni wannabe counterparts, the Muslim Brotherhood (MB or, in Arabic, Ikhwan)." That is just part of the indictment of President Barack Obama by former Undersecretary of Defense Frank Gaffney. IS EGYPT THE NEW IRAN - President Jimmy Carter declared that he had helped bring democracy to Iran in 1979. Within a few months the notion of democracy was replaced by a Islamic theocracy. President Barack Obama. much to the displeasure of Saudi Arabian royalty, has now "helped" bring about democracy in Egypt. My take: Within one year any concept of democracy will be gone, replaced by either an Iranian type theocracy of a military government.

DEFUNDING PLANNED PARENTHOOD - Republicans in the House are finally going to try to stop tax funding for the largest abortion mill operator, Planned Parenthood. For decades the federal government has handed Planned Parenthood millions of tax dollars despite the fact that the majority of Americans are pro-life. The move is backed up by new videos of Planned Parenthood "counselors." who are actually commissioned salespeople, telling pimps how to get abortions for underage "sex workers." DON'T LET FCC KILL FREE SPEECH - U.S. Congressman Mike Pence (R-IN) and U.S. Congressman Greg Walden (R-OR) introduced the Broadcaster Freedom Act to prevent the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from reinstating the Fairness Doctrine, which would suppress free speech by requiring the government to monitor political views and decide what constitute fair political discourse. "The American people cherish freedom, especially freedom of speech and of the press. Bringing back the Fairness Doctrine would amount to government control over political views expressed on the public airways," said Pence, a former broadcaster. "We must pass the Broadcaster Freedom Act and bury the Fairness Doctrine once and for all."

"WHITE MALE" THREATENS TO BOMB MOSQUE - just a few days ago the liberal media ran the story of a "white male Vietnam veteran" who attempted to bomb a mosque in Detroit. The Islamic organization CAIR immediately issued a press release stating this proved "Islamaphobia." OOPS ... the man, Roger Dale Stockham, converted to Islam in an Indonesian prison and speaks fluent Arabic. He threatened to bomb the mosque because it was Shiite. Previously he had been arrested for threatening the life of President George W. Bush while he was in office. As soon as it became apparent that Stockham was a Muslim, the mainstream media dropped the story. 
SOCIAL CONSERVATIVES AND CPAC - In a full-page ad in the February 7 edition of The Washington Times, a group of conservative leaders, including William J Murray of the Religious Freedom Coalition, said they are deeply troubled by the direction of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) - which opened on February 10. Prominent conservative groups boycotting CPAC include the American Family Association, Liberty Counsel, Family Research Council, the Heritage Foundation, Religious Freedom Coalition as well as such leaders as Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sen. Jim DeMint and Sean Hannity.
 

NO 911 MOSQUE!

LIBERAL MEDIA HAVING SECOND THOUGHTS - The current edition of The Villager, a very liberal, pro-gay, pro-Obama, pro-anything-but-America weekly in New York City seems to be having second thoughts about the Cordoba House or Park 51 or P51 or whatever it is being called now. Most Americans (but not the Villager) call the project the Ground Zero mosque because it is being built on the human remains of the victims of 9-11. In an editorial this week the Villager looks at the project differently than when it was announced:

"Nine months later, that original presentation seems like a mischaracterization, at best. At worst, it seems like nothing more than the jump-off point for a public-relations spin campaign. The message we applauded and the project this community center has become are now murky and muddled." (Complete editorial)

Suddenly left leaning journalists are coming to realize that Sharif el-Gamal, the for-profit developer with the credit problems, and party animal Imam Feisal Rauf are not exactly cut from the same cloth. Those of us who understand Islam at its core knew that the project was "murky and muddled" from the beginning because we are familiar with taqiyya. Taqiyya is the allowance in Islam for Muslims to lie to non-Muslims for the purpose of advancing Islam. INDONESIAN MOBS DESTROY CHURCHES - How often do we hear in the media about the "moderate" Muslims of Indonesia? Well, those moderate Muslims attacked Christians and destroyed several churches because a Christian accused of "blasphemy" was sentenced to only five years in jail. The crowd first attacked the Catholic Church of Saints Peter and Paul and wounded the priest. Father Saldanha was beaten by the mob, which then attacked and set fire to two Protestant churches, Bethel Church and Pantekosta Church, before terrorizing a Catholic orphanage and a hospital run by the Sisters of Providence. FREEDOM ON TRIAL IN EUROPE - Geert Wilders, the leader of the third largest political party in the Netherlands, is on trial once again for "hate speech." He is just one of many leaders in Europe facing jail for telling the truth about Islam. Sometimes they are being tried in court for simply quoting the Qur'an. "The lights are going out all over Europe, and it's because of Islam," Wilders told a packed courtroom at the beginning of his retrial, "There are no Islamic Mozarts or Bill Gates because they can't exist where there is no creative freedom. An ideology that comes from the desert can only create a desert."

PRESIDENCY 

OBAMA AND THE RULE OF LAW - "Equal in the eyes of the law." Beginning in the 1960's liberals began their attack on this concept of the rule of law that made America a great nation morally and financially. Beginning with government job point systems that punished white men because of their sex and color, our society moved to one of special privilege that "protected" some groups and punished others. President Barack Obama has taken upon himself to bury what is left of the concept of the rule of law. Here are a few examples: ObamaCare, which he claimed would benefit all, has now issued exemptions to some very large corporations, while forcing other businesses to enter the system. Interns can no longer train in for-profit corporations, but can in government jobs. His Justice Department made it clear it will not file charges against anyone violating the voting rights of whites or orientals. The list goes on, but the difficulty of predicting which arbitrary laws will apply to which groups is destroying our economy as investors can't figure out the rules that apply to them. Hope is the casualty of the Obama war against the rule of law.
I WANT YOUR MONEY - This week my wife and I were privileged to attend a private viewing of "I want Your Money" with the producer, Ray Griggs . The movie, which is a documentary, explains the liberal concept of Utopian government and why it does not work, contrasting it with the proven success of Ronald Reagan's concept of limited government. While at times repetitive, it is funny and does make good points. This is movie that grandma and grandpa should take the grand-kids to. Younger kids will enjoy and understand the animation while older kids may learn concepts not taught in school. See trailer
OBAMA AND RELIGIOUS FREEDOM - Rich Daly of the National Catholic Register has written a major article on President Obama and his view of religious freedom. The article, "Where is Obama on Religious Freedom?" cites his refusal to confront Islamic domination of religious minorities and the Islamic push to force Western nations to enforce blasphemy laws. The article quotes me and uses the Religious Freedom Coalition as a reference.

THE CONGRESS 

CONGRESS ADJOURNED - The House and Senate have now both officially adjourned until after the November 2nd election.  
WHAT WILL HAPPEN NOVEMBER 2ND? - Virtually all polls show that Republicans have momentum and will retake the House in November; however, there is no clear victory in the Senate where Republicans would have to pick up ten seats for a majority. If the Republicans win nine and there is a 50-50 split, Vice President Biden will have to spend a good deal of time in the Senate chamber to cast a deciding vote in favor of the Obama agenda. CULTURE AND RELIGION 

50% OF DEBT FOREIGN OWNED? - The official chart issued by the Department of the Treasury shows that 50% of the debt issued by our government is "foreign owned," but is that true? Note the small slice in the pie for the Middle East. do you believe for a second that this is correct? Of course not. While China owns US bonds directly, many of the Saudi princes own US bonds and other debt instruments through hedge funds that are incorporated in the United States. Much of the Saudi ownership of our debt is shown as "domestic." We owe so much to so many that recovery is virtually impossible.  
CARTOON FEAR STRIKES NEWSPAPERS IN US - The Non Sequitur" comic strip by Wiley Miller has won many awards and appears in hundreds of newspapers." But when Miller did a take off on "find Waldo" called "find Mohamed," major newspapers dropped the strip out of fear. Miller said that editors, "... didn't see the satire was on them, of being petrified to run anything related to him (Mohamed)." There was no actual depiction of Mohamed in the strip. THE IMAM SLUM LORD Imam Rauf and his financial travails make little news in the mainstream media, but if he were anyone else his scandals would be front page news. New Jersey has sued the imam slum lord for failing to provide fire alarms and as many as 200 other violations. Rauf received huge sums in government support and still faced foreclosure on buildings. PLUS ... The State Department has been sued for information on its financial relationship with the slum lord imam. IRAN ARRESTS MORE IN STONING CASE - Iran arrested two foreigners for interviewing the son of a woman facing execution by stoning. Iran will not give the nationality or even sex of the two, but claims they have links with "anti-revolution" groups. Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that the two posed as reporters and were "preparing a report" on their meeting with the family of Sakineh Mohammadi-Ashtiani. Ashtiani is facing death by stoning, on trumped up charges in Iran. Her attorney has also been arrested as punishment for bringing the brutality of the Iranian government to the attention of "foreigners."  
MAHMOUND ANUTCASE TAUNTS ISRAEL AT BORDER - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a threat to world peace and may bring the world to war in the same time frame of his dictatorship as did Adolph Hitler. He is also a man that President Obama wants "dialog" with. This week he stood at a border crossing in Lebanon, in sight of Israel, and incited tens of thousands of rallying Hezbollah supporters, calling for the destruction of "the Zionists." Mr. Ahmadinejad cried out to the rally, "The world should know that Zionists will perish!" Iran has heavily armed Hezbollah in the last few years. The United States has also furnished Lebanon with war supplies and funds that have in turn been turned against Israel as well.

THE PRESIDENCY 

SEE NO EVIL - As Ramadan ended on September 11th the number of dead bodies hit a record high. In just 30 "holy days" there were 226 terror attacks on civilians killing 1028 and wounding thousands more. Although for the most part Muslims killed other Muslims during their "holy month," Christians, Buddhists, Hindus and others were murdered as well. The attacks were spread all over the world and included Nigeria, Thailand. Pakistan, Yemen, Mali, India, Tajikistan, Dagestan, China, Egypt, Indonesia and Ethiopia. President Obama calls the sunset call to Muslim prayer, "The sweetest sound I have ever heard." There seems to be a disconnect with President Obama and the reality of Islamic terror 
OBAMA REAFFIRMS GROUND ZERO MOSQUE - The day before the 9th anniversary of the 911 jihad attack against the United States President Barack Obama reaffirmed his support for a Ground Zero mosque, saying, "This country stands for the proposition that all men and women are created equal; that they have certain inalienable rights. One of those inalienable rights is to practice their religion freely. And what that means, is that if you could build a church on a site, if you could build a synagogue on a site, if you could build a Hindu temple on a site, then you should be able to build a mosque on the site." The President's statement came just one day after Imam Faisal Rauf told CNN that there would be worldwide violence if he were not allowed to build a mega mosque at Ground Zero.

THE CONGRESS 

BUT THEY JUST GOT BACK - The House just returned from an extra long summer recess on Tuesday and was to remain in session until Oct. 8th. However, with the majority party in real trouble, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has indicated she may break early on October 1st to allow her minions to campaign for the November general election. This would mean there would be only 10 or 11 more days in session before the elections.
 

GROUND ZERO AND THE MEGA MOSQUE 

THE GROUND ZERO RALLY - At 3:00 PM thousands of people rallied at Park and Broadway to protest the building of a huge Islamic center at Ground Zero. For hours before the rally city officials set up a dramatic police presence that included more than 100 police cars, hundreds of officers and several buses for transporting arrested protesters. Rally planner Pamela Geller had planned on 1,000 participants, but as many as three times that showed up. People stood shoulder to shoulder, filling up three full blocks of Broadway. GEERT WILDERS AT GROUND ZERO RALLY - The key note speaker at the no mosque rally at Ground Zero was Dutch MP Geert Wilders, who is perhaps the most protected politician in the world after President Barack Obama because of his outspoken opposition to the Islamization of Europe. He has numerous death threats posted against him by Islamic groups as well as arrest warrants from Muslim nations accusing him of "blasphemy." Wilders said, "A tolerant society is not a suicidal society. It must defend itself against the powers of darkness, the force of hatred and the blight of ignorance. AT GROUND ZERO - This update was delayed one day because I am in New York for the anniversary of the 911 jihad attack on the United States and I wanted to be able to report on the day's activities including the rally agaisnt the Ground Zero mosque. New York is a huge city and one in which life goes on regardless of anything, and today was a typical example. The area set aside for the public sat across Broadway from Zuccotti Park where the families gathered. Broadway was not closed and cars, taxis, trucks and city buses passed by in front of those who gathered from all over the world to remember the events of the 911 jihad attack. The setting was designed by Mayor Bloomberg to discourage public participation which reminds all of us of the Islamic terror attack on this city.
GROUND ZERO SUNDAY SERVICES - On Sunday morning, the 12th, my wife Nancy and I attended a newly established church service at the Marriott Hotel directly next to Ground Zero. The service is organized by evangelist Bill Keller and is a precurser to establishing an evangelical, Gospel preaching church presence at Ground Zero

PRESIDENCY 

ATTACKING SHERIFF JOE ARPAIO - The Obama Justice Department is convinced that Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who is Hispanic, is discriminating against other Hispanics. With no proof other than the extreme far left media's ravings, the Justice Department set up a toll free number in Arizona for people to file anonymous complaints against him. They have demanded all the Sheriff's records, without any criteria, so they can search for proof of the accusations of MSNBC's Keith Olbermann. For months the Department of Justice has spent tens of thousands of man hours trying to find something that Sheriff Joe has done wrong. All the while they were ignoring drug smugglers and human traffickers on our borders. Rather than to fight crime, the Obama Administration has posted signs in Arizona warning honest citizens to stay clear of large areas of the state.  
OBAMA A MUSLIM? - A recent Newsweek Magazine poll indicated that 24%, or nearly one in four Americans, think President Barack Obama is a Muslim. The day he was sworn in as president, just 9% believed he was a Muslim. The change over less than two years is so striking that I have been invited on numerous radio shows to discuss the statistics. I was even asked about this issue on the very liberal Pacifica Radio network. Perhaps President Obama has bowed just once too often to Muslim royalty and Muslim demands.

THE CONGRESS 

CONGRESS IN RECESS UNTIL SEPTEMBER 14th? - Because of a fairly unusual occurrence of Labor Day and Rosh Hashanah falling in the same week, Congress will not reconvene until late on Tuesday, September 14th. 
BAD NEWS FOR DEMOCRATS - The poll numbers for congressional Democrats are dropping at an increasingly rapid pace. Much of the drop has to do with arrogance and total disconnect with the majority of the American people. While 70% of Americans are against the Ground Zero mega mosque, Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi not only supports it, but wants those who are outspoken against it to be investigated. Investigated for what -- free speech?

CULTURE AND RELIGION 

TAKING AMERICA BACK - Conservative Internet giant World Net Daily will be holding a conference in Miami, Florida on September 16th, 17th and 18th, and large numbers of Tea Party supporters are expected to be present. On Friday I will be speaking at 2:00 on the proposed Ground Zero mega mosque and I will also participate in a panel at 2:30. The Religious Freedom Coalition will have a large display on hand all three days and our TV commercial about the intolerance of Islam will be featured as well as our new Internet site at www.no911mosque.org  
THE MEN BEHIND THE MOSQUE - Sharif el-Gamal, the real owner of the property for the proposed Ground Zero mosque, refuses to say where he obtained the $4.8 million cash he paid for the building. He has also refused to pay the City of New York $227,000 in taxes on the property. It has also been revealed that this devout Muslim has been arrested for several assaults, DWI and soliciting a prostitute. Meanwhile the writings of the front man, Imam Faisal Rauf show that he promoted signing an Arab-Israel peace treaty as a way to pacify the enemy while preparing for war. He stated that in the end Israel would be Muslim state with a Jewish minority.

The attacks were spread all over the world and included Nigeria, Thailand. Pakistan, Yemen, Mali, India, Tajikistan, Dagestan, China, Egypt, Indonesia and Ethiopia.  
BEHEAD GEERT WILDERS - Netherlands MP Geert Wilders is one of the great heroes of Europe who has stood up and boldly said that Islam is a danger to the European way of life. The Kingdom of Jordan has issued an arrest warrant for him for committing the crime of "apostasy," and now an Australian imam named Feiz Mohammad has issued a fatwa calling for him to be beheaded. This is the same imam who said Australian girls who are raped deserve it because of the way they dress. We need a mega mosque at Ground Zero to preach this kind of hate here as well?
