THE PRESIDENCY

OBAMA SINGS "CHICAGO, CHICAGO" - Barack Obama running errands for the Daley political machine in Chicago is like Nero fiddling while Rome burned. Chicago has been run by the Daily family for nearly a century. The current Mayor Richard Daley told Barack Obama to take Air Force One and run over to Copenhagen and plead for Chicago to have a turn at hosting the Olympics. Obama's wife Michelle also made a the plea to Olympic Committee, but she didn't ride on Air Force One. Oprah Winfrey gave her a lift on her private jet which is actually more luxurious than Air Force One, although a little smaller. While Obama was overseas pleading like a third world dictator for an Olympic game a decade in the future, the official unemployment rate hit 9.8% while the real rate hit at least 17%. In the end Obama lost the bid to Rio de Janeiro and headed home after only five hours with his tail between his legs. The total trip lasted 20 hours and cost the taxpayers over one million dollars. REAL UNEMPLOYMENT AT LEAST 16% - Officially the unemployment rate rose to 9.8% in September as another quarter of a million jobs, mostly in manufacturing, were lost in America. However, one Fed official places the rate at 16%, and even that rate does not include the self employed, such as carpenters, masons, and tradesmen of all kinds who can find little or no work. It also doesn't include people who are working many fewer hours than they would like. Dont' worry though -- President Obama and radical left Speaker Nancy Pelosi have a solution: A huge tax on energy production and manufacturing. They plan to save the planet from carbon dioxide (the stuff plants need to grow) by implementing a "cap and trade" program. Refineries and energy producers will have to pay huge sums of money to continue to produce electricity or manufacture trucks. Meanwhile the EPA, now controlled by Obama, has refused to issue permits for 79 new mountaintop coal mines putting thousands of people out of work in West Virginia and Kentucky.

THE CONGRESS

72 HOUR RULE - Before taking office Barack Obama promised transparency and honesty in government. Apparently members of his Administration, along with Democrat leaders in Congress, didn't get the memo. House Members were given only 12 hours to review the 1,073-page long stimulus bill that cost $787 billion. Most people probably give more thought to buying a used car. The cap and trade bill, which would cost $846 billion and weighs in at 1,428 pages, was available for only 16.5 hours before the vote. To slow down this steamroller process, Congressman Greg Walden is pushing H. Res 179 that would require a full 72 hours after a bill has been finalized and made available to Members, before it could be voted on. So far 182 members have signed a discharge petition to force radical left Speaker Nancy Pelosi to allow a vote on the H. Res 179. Read more  

ACORN IS TAX EXEMPT - Congressman Todd Tiahrt (R-KS) has offered a resolution in the House stating that ACORN should be stripped of its tax exempt status because of its numerous violations of the law. In his H.Con.Res. 192, Tiahrt lists various election law fraud cases against ACORN as well as its acceptance of funds from Obama's political campaign as reasons for the far left organization to lose its exemption. Since 1994 ACORN has received $53 million in funding, most of it while Republicans controlled Congress. Now that the Democrats are in control, the Republicans have figured out that ACORN is a criminal enterprise. NEWS FLASH: ACORN has always been a criminal enterprise! Read more
 
OBAMA CARE BILL - Most of my work on Capitol Hill involves issues of religious freedom. However, in order to advocate for those issues, I have to be present at wide ranging meetings that cover many other subjects; hence my ability to write this update each week. The health care issue comes up at virtually every briefing I attend with congressmen and Senators. After listening to countless briefings and discussions, I have been able to reach a conclusion as to three major results that will ensue from the final health care bill. The final health care bill will: 1. Cut Medicare benefits 2. Raise taxes, 3. Be over 1,000 pages long. Regardless of promises from Barack Obama, it will pay for a full range of "reproductive health care procedures," which is liberal speak for abortions and sex-change operations.

CULTURE AND RELIGION

MUSLIM MARCH A FLOP - Muslims claim to outnumber Jews in the United States. I have always known the six million figure which Muslims claim is bogus, because so many people of Arab descent in the United States are Christians who fled Islam. I was very skeptical about the claim that 60,000 American Muslims were going to march on Washington, in an event called "Our Time Has Come". The official estimate for the march turned out to be about 8,000 people. Prior to the march, social conservatives, including myself, requested that the Muslim organizers publicly disavow terrorism. MUSLIM MARCH ORGANIZERS - One of the "moderate" imams who helped organize the "Our Time Has Come" march had previously advocated that our current Constitution be discarded and replaced by a new Constitution that would create a Caliphate to rule over America. Another of the "moderate" organizers is an attorney who has represented Islamic terrorists including those who first bombed the World Trade Center in 1993. IRAN'S AHMADINEJAD A JEW? - The news is astonishing. The mad Iranian leader who just days ago at the United Nations denounced the Holocaust as a fabrication, has been discovered to have been born a Jew. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's real family name is Sabourjian, a Jewish name meaning cloth weaver. His family converted to Islam when he was four years old for "economic" reasons. If the Mullahs run him out of Iran because of his Jewish blood, I wonder if he will plead for mercy from Israel and ask for asylum. Read more .... IRAQI CHRISTIAN REFUGEES - The persecution of our brothers and sisters in Christ who fled Iraq has gotten worse since our troops left the cities. Rather than Christians returning to Iraq, more are making their way to Jordan and Syria. Our ministry is barred from operating in Syria, but our feeding and medical program continues in Jordan. A third shipment of medical supplies has been delivered, and this week we funded our feeding program in Amman for another three months. Your help is still needed.

THE PRESIDENCY

OBAMA'S STEM CELL MADNESS - Embryonic stem cells don't work. Every experiment with them has failed, yet governments spend hundreds of millions of dollars on this holy grail imagined by mad scientists. Now Barack Obama has authorized the used of federal funds for this Frankenstein type madness.

House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) spoke out against Obama's plan when he stated, "The Administration's decision to dramatically expand the number of stem cell lines derived from human embryos, and create incentives for the destruction of human life, is a provocative step beyond what the President proposed just months ago and yet another sign that he has quickly retreated from his promise to 'be a President for all Americans.' ... I urge the President to reconsider this decision and instead join Republicans in supporting bipartisan solutions such as Rep. Randy Forbes' Patients First Act, which would promote proven adult stem cell research that does not force taxpayers to aid in the destruction of human life." We commend Congressman John Boehner for speaking out as a leader on this issue.

USA SAFER WITH OBAMA IN EUROPE? - President Barack Obama is busy in Europe apologizing for the very existence of the Untied States and promising to destroy our economy and way of life by reducing "our" carbon footprint. The mainstream USA media reports on his antics in Europe as if he is a god. What does the European media think of him? One UK paper op-ed referred to him as the Loony Tunes president. Apparently some in Europe have noticed the obvious. Without his teleprompter, Obama has not much to say.

THE CONGRESS

TWO SENATORS SAY HUMAN LIFE IS SACRED - Sen. Brownback (R-KS) and Sen. Landrieu (D-LA), introduced the Human-Animal Hybrid Prohibition Act (S.1435) in July. The bill would prohibit the creation of human-animal hybrids. "This legislation works to ensure that our society recognizes the dignity and sacredness of human life," said Brownback. "Creating human-animal hybrids, which permanently alter the genetic makeup of an organism, will challenge the very definition of what it means to be human and is a violation of human dignity and a grave injustice." Commercial laboratories claim combining animal and human DBA can help create cures for various illnesses. Social conservatives see a huge moral issue. Read more

"IN GOD WE TRUST" RESOLUTION PASSES - Congressman Dan Lungren's (R-CA) resolution in the House will correct a problem in the new Capitol Visitor Center, through which everyone entering the Capitol must now pass. Although planned and built during the Bush Administration, there were no references to God in the new facility, not even the National Motto, "In God We Trust." On July 9th, House Resolution 131 was passed by a huge margin. Only the hard core socialists in the Democrat Party and Ron Paul voted against it. The full title of the bill was: Directing the Architect of the Capitol to engrave the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and the National Motto of "In God we trust" in the Capitol Visitor Center. AMERICA'S SPIRITUAL HERITAGE - There is growing support for Randy Forbes' H.Res.397, "America's Spiritual Heritage Resolution." We have 66 co-sponsors from both parties so far. This resolution details the Judeo-Christian heritage of our nation. Momentum began to build when Dr. Tom Price (R-GA), who leads the Republican Study Committee, recommended it to the group. Within 24 hours of his recommendation, twenty members of the Republican Study Committee signed on.

TAXPAYER FUNDED ABORTIONS - Congressman Todd Tiarht (R-KS) this month introduced an amendment to a funding bill to prohibit taxpayer dollars from being used to fund abortions in Washington, D.C. Tiahrt's amendment would have reinstated a 14-year-old prohibition on publicly-funded abortions that radical leftist Speaker Nancy Pelosi stripped out this year at the request of President Obama. His amendment was defeated in Committee. Read more

NY TO BUY HUMAN EGGS - Cash strapped New York State is slated to spend $600 million on embryonic stem cell research. As part of the grants offered the state will pay $10,000 for women to "donate" their eggs for the research. Frankensteinish scientists claim they will one day be able to cure any decease with embryonic stem cells. With billions of dollars spent not one illness has been successfully treated by using the cells of destroyed embryos. However, dozens of deceases, some deadly, have been cured with the use of adult stem cells. Read more

ARE WE DONE WITH MICHEAL JACKSON? - I am not a pop music fan, but I am sure Michael Jackson was a terrific entertainer. He sold lots of CD's and sung to sold out shows. At one time he made a ton of money. But he was sure no civil rights hero and was probably a pervert who preferred young boys to grown women. That said I found the coverage of his death overdone and so did Congressman Peter King. (See Foxnews) At about the same time TV pitchman Billy Mays died. THE MIRACLE OF AMI ORTIZ - Several times I have mentioned the bomb injuries Ami Ortiz, the son of my good friends David and Leah Ortiz who live in Ariel in the heart of Samaria. At first everyone believed the bomb was planted by Palestinian Muslims upset about the the number of converts David Ortiz had won to the Lord. It is now apparent, however, that the bombing of their apartment was perpetrated by extreme orthodox Jews upset with the converts David had won over to the Lord in the Jewish community. KIDS CELEBRATE HOMICIDE BOMB MOM - To think this is normal human activity you would have to be a Muslim. On a Hamas TV children's program called "Tomorrow's Pioneers", the two young children Michael Jackson, of female suicide terrorist Reem Riyashi watched in the studio as her murderous suicide attack on innocent people was reenacted.
