The Presidency
Obama demands more power - Barack Obama is demanding that Congress permanently give up its authority over raising the debt ceiling. He is demanding as a part of "negotiating" with the Congress, that a law be passed to allow him to increase the debt ceiling of the government at any time he deems it necessary. Giving this power to Obama will be "crossing the Rubicon" and there will be no return to congressional control of the Presidency. When Obama robs Peter to pay Paul, he can always count on the vote of Paul - This statement was obviously proven in the election of Barack Obama, who spent four years expanding the ranks of dependency by using every avenue of government possible, from food stamps to mortgage reductions. Official submission to Islam - Round three of the "Istanbul Process" opens today, December 3, and runs through Wednesday, at Canada House, in London, hosted by the U.K. and Canada. The Istanbul Process is Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's major transnational law initiative, undertaken in partnership with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). It was established last year to "implement" measures against speech and expression that negatively "stereotype[s]" Islam and Muslims, with a particular emphasis on enacting them in the West. Congress
America can't survive the cure - For years I have referred to the Democrats as the Tax and Spend Party and the Republicans as the Borrow and Spend Party. It seems that they are now merging into the Tax and Borrow to Spend Party. All solutions coming from Washington are a disaster for the future generations of this nation. Cutting federal spending enough to eliminate the debt means massive job loss and a depression. Raising taxes to cover the huge spending deficits means massive job loss and recession. Continuing to borrow trillions of dollars each year means inflation that will eventually destroy the wealth of the nation causing massive job loss and recession.
Congress at a stand still - The debt crisis and the "fiscal cliff" have brought the Congress to a stand still. Virtually no action is being taken on important issues such as the deterioration of American power. Egypt having sentenced American citizens to die for blasphemy is being ignored, as is the continued threat to our ally Israel.
Prayer Caucus year in review - One of the few bright spots on Capitol Hill is the Prayer Caucus headed by Congressman Randy Forbes (R-VA). During 2012 the Prayer Caucus opposed the removal of a reference to "God" from an Air Force logo; voted to add the D-day Prayer to the World War II Memorial; opposed efforts to remove a memorial cross honoring military veterans, and much more. Life in prison for this? - The tyrannical owner of the Muslim media outlet Al Jazeera is Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar. Al Jazeera claims it is open to free expression, so free it has shown US soldiers being killed by IEDs. Turkey: Government war on freedom of press - The government of Prime Minister Erdogan has waged one of the world's biggest crackdowns on press freedom in recent history. OBAMA, GAYS, MUSLIMS AND IMMIGRATION - President Obama has in effect ordered U.S. agencies to import homosexuals from all over the world who are "threatened." Thus anyone who walks into a U.S. embassy anywhere in the world where homosexual activities (including gay marriage) are illegal, can claim to be gay and be immediately put at the front of the line to immigrate to the United States. SECRETARY CLINTON, CHAMPION OF GAY RIGHTS - On December 6th at a conference in Geneva, Switzerland, attended by diplomats from all over the world including Arab nations, Secretary Clinton compared the struggle for "gay equality" to women's rights and racial equality. She said that a nation's cultural or religious "traditions" are not an excuse for discrimination against homosexuals. "Gay rights are human rights, and human rights are gay rights," she said. "It should never be a crime to be gay," Clinton declared and concluded that, "Gay people are born into and belong to every society in the world."

CLINTON TO BACK BLASPHEMY LAWS? - For more than 20 years, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has pressed Western governments to restrict free speech. Its charter states a goal "to combat defamation of Islam," and it wants "deterrent punishments" by all states to counter Islamophobia. SENATOR TO OBAMA: FT HOOD ATTACK NOT "WORKPLACE VIOLENCE" - During a joint session of the House and Senate Homeland Security Committees on December 7th, Senator Susan Collins (R-MA) blasted a letter by the Department of Defense labeling the Fort Hood jihad attack by Major Nidal Hasan, as a case of workplace violence. SHUTDOWN OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM? - The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) will cease to operate if Congress does not pass and President Obama does not sign into law no later than Dec. 16, legislation either reauthorizing it or continuing its funding. USCIRF is currently funded in a spending bill that expires on that date. Human rights activist Faith McDonnell said, "Dissolution of USCIRF would send a message to tyrants and thug regimes around the world that the United States no longer considers religious freedom a priority." POLAND'S FIRST HONOR KILLING - A prosecutor in Sieradz says that Poland has probably seen its first case of honor killing. A 34-year old mother of four named Agnieszka was murdered two years ago in June. Prosecution has accused a 40-year old Pakistani called Naaem, who has lived in Poland for 10 years. The investigation, according to prosecutor Józef Mizerski, is not a typical one in Poland. It is known as "the honor killing". In Pakistan, in 2007 alone, 1261 women lost their lives and none of the perpetrators was held responsible", says Mizerski. Read more

In Egypt, the Obama Administration made it clear to President Mubarak that he must leave power or see the wrath of the United States after he ordered the killing of some Muslim Brotherhood demonstrators. Yet, every single day, Christians are arrested, tortured and killed by Muslim extremist governments and Obama says nothing. JOBS, JOBS, JOBS FOR SAUDI ARABIA- The very day President Obama announced he would speak to the nation on job creation, his Administration announced regulations that would kill jobs and increase dependence on Islamic nations for energy. As a result of the regulations coal mines will close, older oil refineries will close, and an additional $7 billion a year will be spent by businesses on more regulation. Corporations must recover the money someplace, and that means fewer jobs, Meanwhile the Administration has shut down "until further notice" the North Anna Nuclear Power Plant in Virginia, which was not damaged during the earthquake in August. It will probably never reopen, causing even more oil to be imported.

THE CONGRESS 

SENATOR LIEBERMAN: OBAMA TOO CONCERNED WITH OFFENDING MUSLIMS - "The administration still refuses to call our enemy in this war by its proper name: violent Islamist extremism," Lieberman said, speaking at a National Press Club event hosted by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START). "To call our enemy 'violent extremism' is so general and vague that it ultimately has no meaning. The other term used sometimes is Al Qaeda and its allies. Now that's better but it is still too narrow and focuses us on groups as opposed to what I would call an ideology, which is what we're really fighting." Read the rest

CLAYTON, MO (KMOX) - Taking heat from Muslim groups upset with a coloring book about the 9/11 attacks, a publisher says he's been in contact with local police and the FBI. Wayne Bell, the publisher of Really Big Coloring Books, Inc., says there's been a negative backlash against the book "We Shall Never Forget 9/11: The Kids' Book of Freedom." "These are people from Al-Jazeera that have called in here numerous times, people from Iranian TV, people from Palestinian Hamas TV," Bell said, "A lot of people from the Islamic community have called in here and said increasingly negative things prior to the book being made and then after we made the book too, about the book itself." GAFFNEY WARNS ON MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD - Former Undersecretary of Defense, Frank Gaffney said, "In recent weeks, we have been put on notice repeatedly: Absent a fundamental course correction, America will go the way of Europe and others before it, succumbing to an insidious totalitarian doctrine known as Shariah whose purpose, in the words of its prime practitioners - the Muslim Brotherhood - is to "destroy Western civilization from within." NLRB: CHURCH SCHOOL NOT RELIGIOUS ENOUGH - St. Xavier University was founded in 1846, and is the oldest Catholic school in Illinois. Its corporate member is a Catholic body with the "powers for the governance of" St. Xavier, that "links the University to the [Catholic] Church and makes it an officially recognized member of the Church." St. Xavier's Board of Trustees must have at least four nuns from the order that founded the school, and, according to its bylaws, its governing body must "ensure [St. Xavier] continues its educational and religious mission." After quoting these sources and many others, the NLRB's regional director concluded in true Orwellian fashion that "the evidence establishes" that St. Xavier is "a secular educational institution or university." CHRISTIAN CONVERTS FLEE ASYLUM CENTER - At the center for asylum seekers in Jaern, Norway, where a Christian convert last week was attacked with boiling water, four other Christians have fled the center because of threats. Muslims at the asylum center told Christians, "This is Jihad, holy war, and we are waiting for at fatwa (license to kill) from the local imam at the mosque in Sandnes." One young man going by the name of "Arsland" told the newspaper Dagen, "I had to escape and flee the asylum reception center in fear for my life. "Arsland" is from Afghanistan and had converted to Christianity. Read more

THE PRESIDENCY

OBAMA'S OFFICIAL MUSLIM ENVOY - On February 13, President Obama announced the appointment of Rashad Hussain, deputy associate White House counsel, as U.S. special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). This is an organization that represents a group of nations promoting a specific religious agenda. Appointing an American envoy gives that organization some legitimacy. The OIC has a structure that is highly discriminatory, and it promotes a reactionary, anti-Israel agenda. It also attacks free speech and free exercise of religion in Western nations.

It gets worse. Rashad Hussain publicly defended a terrorism sympathizer in 2004. When he was appointed he lied about defending the terrorism sympathizer and even had references to his comments removed from a magazine. Politico.com, however, found an audio tape of his comments. Faced with the truth he "remembered" his comments. Obama says he has "faith" in Hussain even though he was caught in a bald faced lie and a cover-up. This says a lot about the character of the current occupants of the White House.
JUST A GREAT SHOW - I just loved the show -- I mean Health Care Summit -- held at Blair House with President Barack Obama as mediator between Nancy Pelosi and the far left on one side and the Republicans on the other side. The President had planned this to be an ambush of Republicans, to show the American people it is just the "party of no." A headline in the Washington Post said simply, The Democrats' health-care ambush failed. Health care in America does need to be fixed, but outrageous spending by both Democrats and Republicans has left the nation broke and dependent on handouts from China to even keep the government going. A slow incremental approach is needed to fix health care problems without causing the government to default on its loans to the Chinese, Japanese and Arab royalty.
 

THE CONGRESS

RESOLUTION SUPPORTS IRAQI CHRISTIANS - Wednesday the House passed by a vote of 415-3, Congressman Frank Wolf's H.Res. 944. The Resolution supports religious minorities in Iraq and its language details how Christians and other religious minorities have been brutalized in Iraq since 2003. HARRY REID SAYS UNEMPLOYED MEN BEAT THEIR WIVES - "Men when they're out of work tend to become abusive," according to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. The Majority Leader, who is up for reelection this year, is running behind in the polls and this should hurt his popularity among men. One columnist wondered if Reid would beat his wife if he lost the election and became unemployed. Not only did he say that unemployed men were abusive, he said that unemployed women were not. REALITY: The comments of Harry Reid were elitist. Like most liberals he groups people by sex, race, religion and ethnic background and uses broad statements to classify them. Liberals just don't see people as individuals; they see them as serfs who are beneath them.Read more
RANGEL IN TROUBLE -- AGAIN - The House ethics committee found that Ways and Means Chairman Charlie Rangel violated House gift rules by accepting corporate-funded trips to the Caribbean through an organization called the Carib News. Rangel has a long history with the Caribbean. He owns rental property in Jamaica which he did not report income on for years. He also uses a rent controlled apartment meant for the poor as his office in New York. This is the guy that Nancy Pelosi chose to run the most powerful committee in the House. Read more
A HOUSE IN CHAOS - Thursday, February 25th may go down as one of the weirdest days the House has ever seen. Under Nancy Pelosi, the House is usually in at least a mild state of chaos, but Politico.com termed the day a House in chaos. Besides dealing with the Rangel affair and the bungled Health Care summit, the House also, by accident we are told, passed a law that protecs terrorists and allows the criminal prosecution of our intelligence agents. It was a wild day!

MORE CHRISTIANS ATTACKED IN PAKISTAN - The United States sells advanced weapons including the F-16 fighter to Pakistan, a nation with hundreds of madrassas that teach jihad. Not a critical word is ever said by our government about the abuse of Christians in Pakistan. This week, hundreds of Muslims attacked a Christian colony in the port city of Karachi, because a Christian was involved in a petty dispute with a Muslim fruit vendor there. Islam preaches "collective punishment," meaning that all Christians must be punished for any wrong done by one Christian toward a Muslim, even if the accusation is untrue. Read more  
GEERT WILDERS TO BECOME PRIME MINISTER? - The trial of Geert Wilders continues in the Netherlands. Prosecutors want to put this Member of Parliament in jail for being critical of Islam, but his popularity is building. Currently his populist PVV (Party for Freedom) only has nine seats in the Parliament, but polls show that increasing to 24 just behind the largest party. Because it is a multi-party system outcome is hazy. Meanwhile the Labor Party released po sters and campaign literature in Arabic which is sure to infuriate the real Dutch population further.
WESTERN CIVILIZATION ON TRIAL - The trial of Member of Parliament Geert Wilders is not an issue for just the Netherlands. It is not just Geert Wilders that is on trial; it is Western civilization. If Muslims in Western nations can have people put in jail for "insulting" their religion, it is a statement of surrender of not only Christianity, but the secular West. More at NRO
