The Presidency
Obama sponsored riots come to peaceful Jordan - The reelection of Barack Hussein Obama has made jihadists around the world confident they can overthrow even more "moderate" governments. The Muslim Brotherhood has now sponsored riots in Jordan allegedly because the government dropped fuel subsidies. This is the same benefit drop that allegedly caused the riots in Egypt that brought the Muslim Brotherhood to power there. A second Obama term is a green light for Islamic aggression. (See International for attacks on Israel.)
The Obama-Morsi love affair - Barack Hussein Obama loves the Muslim Brotherhood and his favorite of the bunch is Mohammed Morsi, the president of Egypt. "Moderate" Morsi just ordered the Egyptian ambassador out of Israel. Morsi is angry that the Israelis fired back at the Gaza Strip after over 150 rockets hit Israel. It is Morsi's position, and probably that of Obama, that Israel should absorb the attacks without retaliation. NOTE: As of Thursday Israel had been hit by over 850 rockets in 2012.
Romney finally gets it? - During a call with large donors to his campaign Mitt Romney said that he lost the election because Obama had bought off so many different groups with "gifts." The loss was due to far more than "gifts." Romney lost trying to sell tax cuts to a dependency driven society in which half of the households pay no income taxes at all. Congress
Why are Benghazi hearings secret? - Both the House and Senate held closed hearings today on the continuing and broadening Benghazi situation ... Why is it secret? Congressmen will ask the State Department why a group of known jihadists who had fought against the United States in Iraq were guarding the consulate in Benghazi. The February 17th Martyrs Brigade was formed in memory of those killed attacking the Italian Consulate in Benghazi on February 17th, 2006. At the time, Libyan strong man Gadafi was an ally of the West and defended the Italian consulate. In doing so he killed 13 "martyrs." The attack on the Italian consulate was a protest against an Italian minister who was DEFENDING FREE SPEECH." The February 17th Martyrs Brigade went on to fight against American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is the organization Hillary Clinton hired to defend the American Consulate in Benghazi! Now you know why the hearings are secret. I could disclose more, but I don't want a visit from the FBI.
Congress in, then out - Congress was in this past week for hearings but for no votes of any consequence. The House will adjourn to district work next week because of Thanksgiving and return to the Capitol on November 27th. No vote on the "fiscal cliff" can possibly be made prior to December.
Religion and Culture

Time to give up, says Focus on Family leader - Several years ago Jim Daly organized a coup against Focus on the Family founder Jame Dobson. He convinced the Board of Directors that Dobson was too political, and that to make the organization grow it needed to drop politics. Since Daly's take over, the organization has declined radically. His new solution is to toss in the white flag on same-sex marriage because he says, "demographics are against us." The real solution for conservative Christians is to oust those like Daly who want to follow the world instead of the Lord. Read more.
Higher unemployment and higher costs - On Thursday the government reported initial weekly jobless claims surged by 78,000 last week to 439,000. That marked the highest level since April 2011. In the closing weeks of the election the Obama Administration reported jobless claims dropping.
International
Obama reelected, Israel attacked - What a coincidence! Barack Hussein Obama is elected and immediately hundreds of rockets pour down into Israel from the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile the jihadist rebels supported by Barack Obama in Syria take over the villages around the Golan Heights and Hezbollah moves heavy weapons to Israel's northern border. Seventy percent of Jews voted for Obama, but eighty-five percent of Muslims also voted for him. Which group will he stand with? Does he "have Israel's back" as he said, or will he back the Muslim Brotherhood's call for Islamist control of the entire Middle East?
Syrian Christians Murdered - In October a video appeared on the Internet showing Syrian "rebels" murdering a dozen unarmed men. The news media reported the video as showing Syrian Army soldiers who had been captured being executed without trial. Somehow no one in the media noticed that none of these men were wearing military uniforms or military style boots. Most of the men were also clean shaven, indicating that they were probably not Muslims. In reality the men had been kidnapped from a Christian neighborhood the "rebels" had invaded in a town west of Aleppo. Some of the men in the video were recognized by workers in Syria who have assisted us in distributing aid to Christians. These men were murdered by the "rebels" simply because they were Christians. Others were murdered in Saraqeb south of Aleppo.
Last Christian in Homs killed - The last Christian to remain in Homs, Syria was murdered this past week. 84-year-old Elias Mansour, a Greek-Orthodox Christian did not want to leave his home on Wadi Sayeh street - even though he knew his life was in danger - to care for a handicapped son. Mansour reportedly said that nothing would induce him to leave his home, adding that, if he met the rebels, "He would remind them about the Ten Commandments and the Holy Scriptures." There were 80,000 Christians in Homs when the Islamists began the uprising against the secular government there and ran them out.

NEW THIS WEEK: CHAIRMAN'S REPORT FOR JUNE 29th, 2011 - William J Murray reports on President Obama, Congress and terrorism. This issue includes Obama's drive to make us more dependent on energy from despotic nations and his release of oil from the Strategic Reserve. The genocide of Christians in the Sudan which Obama is also ignoring while assisting Muslims in Egypt is questioned. At the Capitol Peter King's hearings on radical Islam in our prisons and the Child Interstate Abortion Notification bill are investigated. On the international front the continued slaughter of Christians in Nigeria by the Boko Haram is discussed. PRESIDENCY 

ABOUT THAT OIL RELEASE - Last week I wrote that President Obama's attempt to manipulate the markets with a release of oil from the Strategic Reserve would do little except frustrate markets. His intention was to bring down the price of oil and "teach speculators a lesson." On the day Obama announced the release of a million barrels of oil a day, oil was trading for $92 a barrel and yes, it quickly fell -- for a few days. Exactly one week after the release of oil from our emergency reserve, oil traded for $95 a barrel. The amount of oil the United States government holds in reserve is not large enough to affect world prices for more than a few days. Final result: The oil in the reserve, which was bought at an average price of about $50 a barrel, must now be replaced with oil costing nearly $100 a barrel.  
RECOGNIZING THE BROTHERHOOD - The sworn objective and the motto of the Muslim Brotherhood is:
"Allah is our objective.
The Prophet is our leader.
Qur'an is our law.
Jihad is our way.
Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope." The Obama Administration has begun a relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood stating, "The political landscape in Egypt has changed, and is changing. It is in our interests to engage with all of the parties that are competing for parliament or the presidency," a State Department official told Reuters. Negotiate this: The only acceptable final agreement for the Muslim Brotherhood will be the surrender of our Constitution and the establishment of sharia as the law under a Caliphate.

THE REAL WEINER SCANDAL IS AT STATE - Congressman Anthony Weiner's twitter photo scandal exposed an even greater Weiner scandal at the State Department. Weiner's wife, Huma Abedin, a close confident and adviser to Hillary Clinton and who holds a top security clearance, has open associations with the Muslim Brotherhood. It is more than likely that the decision to recognize the Muslim Brotherhood as a legitimate organization was orchestrated in her office. Considering her associations, can Huma Abedin be trusted or is she in fact a double agent? Human Events has published a recent article that sheds light on Huma Abedin.

 

THE CONGRESS 

CONGRESSMEN DEMAND PROTECTION FOR RADICALS ATTACKING ISRAEL - Six Democrat Representatives have signed a letter of concern to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton asking that she protect "Americans" on the "Audacity of Hope" - a ship that is expected to cause violence and political trouble for Israel. The ship - filled with 50 anti-Israel activists - is to leave today. The goal is to break Israel's naval blockade of the Gaza Strip. CONGRESSMEN COMPLAIN TO NBC OVER "UNDER GOD" DELETION - 108 Members of Congress sent a Letter to NBC chastising the network for cutting "Under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance during its coverage of the U.S. Open this month. NBC aired a patriotic video montage that included children reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and twice during the video "under God" was cut out of the Pledge. Congressman Randy Forbes, Co-Chairman of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, and 107 other Members of Congress sent the bipartisan letter to Mr. Stephen Burke, CEO of NBCUniversal, expressing serious concerns. RELIGION AND CULTURE 

SAME SEX MARRIAGE IN NEW YORK - When the New York legislature this past week passed a law allowing same sex marriage they claimed to have "protected" religious organizations. This is not true. Religious adoption agencies will be forced to close and private businesses will be forced to participate in same-sex marriages. There will also be a loss of access to professional licenses in counseling. Heritage. Heritage Foundation has produced an excellent analysis. In New York Catholic Bishops issued a statement saying they expect efforts to enact government sanctions against churches.

GROUND ZERO MOSQUE PROMOTER HELPS FUND GAZA FLOTILLA -The main spokesman and promoter for the Ground Zero mosque, Imam Feisal Rauf, is also deeply involved with a leftist and Islamic group funding the Gaza flotilla mentioned above. INTERNATIONAL 

IRAQ'S VULNERABLE MINORITIES - Recent congressional hearings have entirely missed any discussion of how Al Qaeda and various Shi'a militias are active in Iraq and how, as a result, Iraq's most vulnerable ethno-religious minority communities are at greater risk of being annihilated when the U.S. leaves. Tina Ramirez of the Becket Fund has authored a report on the dangers to Christians and other minorities in Iraq as the United States withdraws.
  CHURCHES INSTALL METAL DETECTORS - Churches in predominantly Muslim northern Nigeria began installing metal detectors because of recent bombings. Churches are searching handbags for explosives as well. There have been several bombings of churches and church affiliated buildings by Boko Haram. On Christmas Eve, more than 80 Christians were killed. Boko Haram translates as "Western education is evil."
KABUL HOTEL ATTACK - At least eight Taliban armed with guns and bombs shot their way into the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul, Afghanistan killing several Westerners this week. US troops had to be called to take the hotel back. The attack came just days after the Obama Administration announced it was in talks with the Taliban.

RELEASE ASIA BIBI NOW - Pakistani Christians are demanding the release of Asia Bibi, mother of five, who has been falsely accused of blasphemy and jailed for nearly two years. Blasphemy laws in Pakistan are used to blackmail Christians and steal their homes and land. This is just one more outrage. More at Pakistan Christian Post

THE PRESIDENCY

OBAMA TICKET TO RIDE - Want to take a ride on the Washington, DC metro? Then get ready to be handed a ticket with Barack Obama's picture on it. The metro did the same thing for Bill Clinton prior to his inauguration, but not for George W. Bush. Read more

OBAMA AND GAZA - President-elect Obama has been silent on the Gaza conflict since it began nearly two weeks ago, but the liberal media has not. ABC, CBS, NBC and particularly CNBC have repeatedly broadcast photos of dead and injured Palestinians and have directly inferred that Israel is the aggressor. The following has never been reported by a major American media outlet (and that includes Fox News) since the conflict began: 3,200 were rockets fired at Israel from Gaza in 2008; 6,5000 rockets were fired at Israel since it gave up Gaza in 2005; and 543 rockets were fired at Israel from Gaza during the six month "cease fire" in 2008. 28 Israeli civilians were killed and 1,000 injured by rockets fired at Israel from Gaza. According to European powers and the American press, the rocket attacks should be endured by Israel and any retaliation is unjustified. President-elect Obama has no comment, but Israeli generals do. My contact in the Israeli military told me that the invasion of Gaza was begun in January for fear that the United States would not side with Israel in the United Nations after January 20, 2009.

OBAMA: "IT WILL GET WORSE" - While he will not talk about the Gaza situation, the President-elect gave a major speech in Virginia in which he said the US economy is moving toward "economic chaos." He has proposed a $300 billion tax cut for businesses, a $500 check to every American who didn't make over $200,000 last year and hundreds of billions in government spending to fix the infrastructure. Almost immediately the idea of tax cuts was hit by Democratic leaders in Congress who say that only government spending can "fix" the economy. Read more.

THE CONGRESS

HOUSE AND SENATE MEET BRIEFLY - The House and Senate held brief sessions each day this week. On Thursday the House and Senate met in Joint session to certify the election of Barack Obama as President-elect. The results of the vote of the Electoral College were read aloud by none other than Vice-President Dick Cheney. Senator Harry Reid and Speaker Nancy Pelosi have not announced when serious legislation will be dealt with.

PLEDGE PROTECTION ACT - Congressman Todd Akin is once again preparing to introduce the Pledge Protection Act which would defend "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance to our nation's flag. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has sat on the atheist lawsuit to remove "under God" from the Pledge in hopes that the Justice Department under Barack Obama will agree with them that it is unconstitutional. FATHER NEUHAUS DIES - Father Richard J. Neuhaus began his public career as a liberal Lutheran minister and died a conservative Catholic priest who worked to bring together conservative Catholics and evangelicals on common social issue such as defending the unborn. He is mourned by all true social conservatives, and President George W. Bush issued a statement on his passing. Not a single major American news outlet has mentioned his death. Shame, shame, shame. THE PRESIDENT

MCCAIN TO LEAD GOP - I was in Dallas, Texas with Gov. Mike Huckabee when he announced with dignity and honor that he had done his best, but McCain had won the required delegates to become the Republican nominee for the presidency. The 71 year old Senator McCain, whose mindset is somewhere between the Nixon and Reagan eras, will now lead the party to a probable defeat in November unless the Democrat primary drags on and somehow Clinton and Obama can destroy each other. MCCAIN AND THE CONSERVATIVES - Shortly after obtaining enough delegates to claim the 2008 Republican nomination for the presidency, John McCain spoke at the luncheon for a premier conservative group, the Council on National Policy (CNP). I was there when he had 40 minutes to win over both economic and social conservatives who have huge differences with him on policy as defined by his voting record in the Senate and public pronouncements. THE HOUSE

NOT MUCH HERE - Radical leftist Speaker Pelosi has turned the House into a platform of political attacks for election year and not much is getting done. There have been over 70 votes on pulling our troops out of Iraq. Each votes requires debate, taking huge amounts of time. She now plans a variety of hearings she hopes will assist the Democrats in winning elections in November.

THE SENATE

GLOBAL AIDS - The PEPFAR bill that covers spending of billions of dollars moves from the House to the Senate this week. The House version, while better than it was, eliminates protected abstinence funding (33% of prevention funds), replacing it with a non-binding, undefined mush that gives no clear direction on abstinence. There is dissension among social conservatives whether the "mush" is better than nothing and if a fight should be waged in the Senate.

RELIGION AND CULTURE

CALIFORNIA OUTLAWS HOME SCHOOLERS- In an astonishing court decision, the state of California has made 166,000 home school parents outlaws. The California teachers' union cheered the decision as a way to defeat "religious people" and properly teach the young about sex. Click here for complete details.

HONORED FOR MURDER - Gaza's streets filled with joyous crowds of thousands following a terror attack at a Jerusalem rabbinical seminary in which eight young students were killed, among them a 16 year old American and a 15 year old French boy. Muslims in Gaza City and northern Gaza went to perform the prayers of thanksgiving In mosques as armed men fired in the air in celebration. Free sweets where passed out in the streets as part of the celebration of the murders of the young students. The response in Europe has been to warn Israel not to retaliate for the crime. THE PRESIDENT

THE PRESIDENT'S STIMULUS PACKAGE- President George W. Bush asked Congress for an emergency stimulus package to avert the nation from entering a recession. The House responded to his request with a tax rebate plan to send every American taxpayer a check for an average of $500. This will give a small boost to consumer spending for a short time, but according to a Heritage Foundation study, it will have little real effect. The study concludes that the checks the President sent out in 2001 also had little effect on the economy, although his actual 2002 tax cuts did. Making the President's tax cuts permanent will have a real impact; the cash back program will not help at all. I believe the nation's infrastructure should be fixed instead. PRESIDENT AT JERICHO - President Bush celebrated the seventh anniversary of his Faith-Based and Community Initiative by touring the Jericho prisoner reentry program in Baltimore. Jericho is a grantee of the Prisoner Re-entry Initiative that Bush set up in 2004. The program is run by Episcopal Community Services of Maryland and serves non-violent adult male offenders. The program prepares former inmates for employment with training and job placement while providing recovery counseling services.

The war in Iraq has unfortunately taken public attention away from some of the President's greatest accomplishments in his two terms in office. The recognition by his Administration that faith based programs do a better job helping those in need than government programs, is one of those accomplishments. The President should be commended for setting up programs in government that recognize and assist programs such as Jericho.

THE HOUSE

$10 BILLION FOR AIDS OR ABORTION? - The Presidents' Emergency Program For Aids Relief (PEPFAR) is in danger of becoming a massive payout kitty for pro-abortion groups. There are numerous pro-life issues and at least two other values issues to be addressed. Under Chairman Lantos' legislation, PEPFAR will become a massive $10 billion per year pot that will be prioritized toward abortion providers due to its integration with reproductive health and family planning requirements. Please read this summary of what is wrong with the Democrat version of PERFAR and contact your congressman.

THE SENATE

$150 BILLION NOT ENOUGH - The Senate Democrats have decided that sending taxpayers a rebate check for $600 to $1200 each is just not enough to "stimulate the economy. They propose to send checks to millions of people who do not pay income tax, including 20 million people on Social Security. Rather than the $150 billion proposed by President Bush and passed by the House, the Democrat Senate version will cost $193 billion.

The federal government is in debt and has neither the $150 or the $193 billion. The money will be raised by issuing bonds that will be bought by foreign interests, most likely the Chinese and the Saudis. Because our government operates with a perpetual deficit, this money will NEVER be paid back. We, the taxpayers, will continue to pay the interest on the debt to the Chinese and the Saudis FOREVER. THE HUCK HATERS - Why may the GOP wind up with McCain as their presidential nominee? If the entire Washington, DC establishment, including the Club for Growth, had not pounded so hard on Huckabee in South Carolina, John McCain would have lost. Huckabee and Romney would have emerged from Florida as the leaders. But the Huck haters in Washington, including well known evangelical leaders spent the last three months ignoring McCain and beating up on Mike Huckabee. Even after he lost in South Carolina, the Washington Times had to run a slanted front page attack against him that included a ten year old photo. Somehow I don't think the Club for Growth and the rest of the GOP Washington insiders are now happy with the results of their work.

Thanks to all the Huck haters who ignored McCain, it looks like they wind up with a 72 year old man who can't raise money as their front runner, against a young and vigorous Democrat who can get honey out of a rock. Sounds like a Dole/Clinton match up.

INTERNATIONAL

3500 ROCKETS - Since the Israelis withdrew from Gaza in 2005, some 3500 rockets have been fired from there into Israel itself. In the last six months alone some 1700 rockets have been fired at the Israeli town of Siderot. The solution of the US Administration and the European Union is of course for Israel to give up even more land for "peace." The peace the Muslim Palestinians want will come only with the total destruction of Israel. View this video of the current situation in Sderot.

DEATH FOR INTERNET ARTICLE? - Last week I reported on an Afghan student, Sayed Parwiz Kambakhsh, who had been sentenced to death for copying a paper from the Internet that the courts there deemed "blasphemous" to Islam. I approached two different officials in the Bush Administration and one in the State Department to find our what could be done to save the young man's life. I was told it was best to "resolve the situation quietly." We cannot establish religious freedom in Afghanistan or Iraq "quietly." We are now in the situation where only high profile cases such as this one are dealt with. How many are stoned to death without our knowledge because we failed in create a true atmosphere of religious freedom in the nations we are occupying?
