THE PRESIDENCY
OBAMA'S OFFICIAL MUSLIM ENVOY - On February 13, President Obama announced the appointment of Rashad Hussain, deputy associate White House counsel, as U.S. special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). This is an organization that represents a group of nations promoting a specific religious agenda. Appointing an American envoy gives that organization some legitimacy. The OIC has a structure that is highly discriminatory, and it promotes a reactionary, anti-Israel agenda. It also attacks free speech and free exercise of religion in Western nations.

It gets worse. Rashad Hussain publicly defended a terrorism sympathizer in 2004. When he was appointed he lied about defending the terrorism sympathizer and even had references to his comments removed from a magazine. Politico.com, however, found an audio tape of his comments. Faced with the truth he "remembered" his comments. Obama says he has "faith" in Hussain even though he was caught in a bald faced lie and a cover-up. This says a lot about the character of the current occupants of the White House.

JUST A GREAT SHOW - I just loved the show -- I mean Health Care Summit -- held at Blair House with President Barack Obama as mediator between Nancy Pelosi and the far left on one side and the Republicans on the other side. The President had planned this to be an ambush of Republicans, to show the American people it is just the "party of no." A headline in the Washington Post said simply, The Democrats' health-care ambush failed. Health care in America does need to be fixed, but outrageous spending by both Democrats and Republicans has left the nation broke and dependent on handouts from China to even keep the government going. A slow incremental approach is needed to fix health care problems without causing the government to default on its loans to the Chinese, Japanese and Arab royalty.

THE CONGRESS
RESOLUTION SUPPORTS IRAQI CHRISTIANS - Wednesday the House passed by a vote of 415-3, Congressman Frank Wolf's H.Res. 944. The Resolution supports religious minorities in Iraq and its language details how Christians and other religious minorities have been brutalized in Iraq since 2003. Read more at Congressman Wolf's site!
HARRY REID SAYS UNEMPLOYED MEN BEAT THEIR WIVES - "Men when they're out of work tend to become abusive," according to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. The Majority Leader, who is up for reelection this year, is running behind in the polls and this should hurt his popularity among men. One columnist wondered if Reid would beat his wife if he lost the election and became unemployed. Not only did he say that unemployed men were abusive, he said that unemployed women were not. REALITY: The comments of Harry Reid were elitist. Like most liberals he groups people by sex, race, religion and ethnic background and uses broad statements to classify them. Liberals just don't see people as individuals; they see them as serfs who are beneath them.Read more
RANGEL IN TROUBLE -- AGAIN - The House ethics committee found that Ways and Means Chairman Charlie Rangel violated House gift rules by accepting corporate-funded trips to the Caribbean through an organization called the Carib News. Rangel has a long history with the Caribbean. He owns rental property in Jamaica which he did not report income on for years. He also uses a rent controlled apartment meant for the poor as his office in New York. This is the guy that Nancy Pelosi chose to run the most powerful committee in the House. Read more
A HOUSE IN CHAOS - Thursday, February 25th may go down as one of the weirdest days the House has ever seen. Under Nancy Pelosi, the House is usually in at least a mild state of chaos, but Politico.com termed the day a House in chaos. Besides dealing with the Rangel affair and the bungled Health Care summit, the House also, by accident we are told, passed a law that protecs terrorists and allows the criminal prosecution of our intelligence agents. It was a wild day!

MORE CHRISTIANS ATTACKED IN PAKISTAN - The United States sells advanced weapons including the F-16 fighter to Pakistan, a nation with hundreds of madrassas that teach jihad. Not a critical word is ever said by our government about the abuse of Christians in Pakistan. This week, hundreds of Muslims attacked a Christian colony in the port city of Karachi, because a Christian was involved in a petty dispute with a Muslim fruit vendor there. Islam preaches "collective punishment," meaning that all Christians must be punished for any wrong done by one Christian toward a Muslim, even if the accusation is untrue. Read more
GEERT WILDERS TO BECOME PRIME MINISTER? - The trial of Geert Wilders continues in the Netherlands. Prosecutors want to put this Member of Parliament in jail for being critical of Islam, but his popularity is building. Currently his populist PVV (Party for Freedom) only has nine seats in the Parliament, but polls show that increasing to 24 just behind the largest party. Because it is a multi-party system outcome is hazy. Meanwhile the Labor Party released po sters and campaign literature in Arabic which is sure to infuriate the real Dutch population further.
WESTERN CIVILIZATION ON TRIAL - The trial of Member of Parliament Geert Wilders is not an issue for just the Netherlands. It is not just Geert Wilders that is on trial; it is Western civilization. If Muslims in Western nations can have people put in jail for "insulting" their religion, it is a statement of surrender of not only Christianity, but the secular West. More at NRO

THE PRESIDENCY

OBAMA CARE IS BACK - After several high profile defeats and the fastest dropping approval rating of any president in history, Barack Obama still thinks he has a mandate to force socialized medical care on Americans. Senator Scott Brown won in liberal Massachusetts by saying his would be the vote to stop Obama Care, but Barack Obama just does not get it. The White House is writing an all new "Health Care Reform Bill" to be unveiled Monday. President Obama, Senate Leader Harry Reid and Speaker Nancy Pelosi plan to ram it through on a simple majority vote. Reid will add Obama care as an amendment to a budget bill and pretend that it is not new legislation, just part of the existing budget. Read more

MCCAIN PLANS ANOTHER PRESIDENTIAL RUN? - Senator John McCain has every intention of a rematch with Barack Obama in 2012. He has kept his presidential committee intact and when asked about Gov. Sarah Palin running in 2012 he said, "I'm not dead yet." Nothing could be worse for the conservative cause and the Republican Party in 2012 than to have Senator John McCain at the top of the ticket again. The Senator will be 74 years old this year and 76 when he runs in 2012. The oldest man ever elected to the presidency was Ronald Reagan; he was 70 years old the day he was sworn in as the 41st president of the United States. Am I saying McCain is too old to be president? No, but I do remember Senator Bob Dole running for president in his seventies against a vigorous, younger Bill Clinton. In 1996 just about anyone could have beat Bill Clinton -- except Bob Dole. I believe the error is about to be repeated with an aging Senator running against a vigorous young president. I believe just about any Republican can beat Barack Obama in 2012 -- except John McCain. A VIDEO FOR OBAMA - If President Barack Obama would watch a startling video translated by MEMRI of a "child preacher" on an Egyptian TV program, perhaps his concept of "terror" would change. It is the story of a youth fighting the Byzantines, who longs for martyrdom to meet his "black eyed virgin wife" in Paradise. NOTE: This video was not done by the Taliban, it was on the air as an approved broadcast in "moderate" Egypt. Watch video
DID MUSLIMS ATTACK FT. JACKSON IN DECEMBER? - Shortly after Nidal Hasan's jihad attack at Ft. Hood on November 5th, at least five Islamic translators were "detained" at Ft. Jackson for planning to poison the food supply at that military facility. Because of the jihad attack by Hasan that killed 13 adults plus one unborn baby, the military has put a clamp on all news surrounding the planned attack at Ft. Jackson. I have previously reported that the Army has an all Muslim translator unit (with no Christians or Jews allowed) despite the fact that tens of thousands of qualified Christian translators who have fled Islamic oppression are available. Army spokeswoman Julia Simpkins said no "soldiers were in danger" but then oddly added a statement to the effect that this is a "diversity" at all costs situation in which Christians are discriminated against in order to have Muslims in uniform. THE CONGRESS

CONGRESS STILL OUT - Congress took an extra week off because of the blizzards that hit Washington last week ... and wow ... that just happened to run into Presidents' Day, so Speaker Nancy Pelosi decided to take off this week as well. Let's get some honesty here ... the Democrats are in big trouble and Pelosi needs to send them home as often and for as long as possible between now and November so they can campaign to keep their seats. Congress is now set to reconvene on Monday, February 22, 2010 ... unless it snows again. BYE-BYE BIPARTISAN JOBS BILL - With so many failures in the House and Senate for President Barack Obama, he desperately needed some bill to pass that was "bipartisan" to prove that Democrats really can work with Republicans. The agreed to bill was the $85 billion jobs legislation forged by Senators Max Baucus, a Montana Democrat, and Chuck Grassley, an Iowa Republican. It was introduced with much fanfare. A few hours later, Democrat Senate Leader Harry Reid tossed the weeks of work in the trash and put in a substitute bill that he will alow no amendments to. Even liberal writers at Time Magazine could not explain it. Fox News gave it a shot as well. I have my own theory, that Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are smoking something odd in those locked rooms where they make all the deals.

CULTURE AND RELIGION

GLOBAL WARMING MELT DOWN - A few years ago the "Global Warming" religion changed its name to the "Climate Change" religion. The old name had a problem because there was no real proof of any global warming. (Barack Obama thinks global warming exists and is caused by CO2 and since 90% of the CO2 on the planet comes from termites, perhaps Obama plans a "war on termites?") Now we find evidence against global warming that is perhaps even more compelling than the "lost" data and the e-mails telling scientists to hide certain data. The grandfather of the global warming church, Phil Jones of East Anglia University, has now admitted that there has been no global warming for 15 years. He further confessed to the BBC that the "hockey stick" chart was not right because there was a medieval warming period that was equal to the one we had in the 1980s and 1990s. What will happen to all the global warming followers? They will just find another reason to impose socialism on the world, which was the real goal all along. The whole global warming scheme was a ploy to "equalize" the nations and transfer wealth. Read more on Jones

MORE CHRISTIANS KILLED IN IRAQ - "We don't want elections, we don't want representatives, we don't want our rights, we just want to be alive," said Father Baasil Abdul Noor, a priest at Mar Behnam Church in Northern Iraq. This week four Christians have been murdered in the Mosul area. The latest was a 20-year-old student, Wissam George, an Assyrian Christian who was studying to be a teacher. Many of the Christians in Northern Iraq fled Baghdad and other southern areas seeking the simple right to live. Pray for the Christians of Iraq. Read more
THE UNFAIR TRIAL OF GEERT WILDERS - The trial of Geert Wilders continues in the Netherlands. Prosecutors want to put this Member of Parliament in jail for being critical of Islam. In Canada MACLEANS ran an op-ed called "The absurd trial of Geert Wilders" and pointed out that this repression of free speech happens in Canada as well. There is no doubt that Geert Wilders is a victim of both political and religious persecution. If his right of free speech is denied and he is jailed it will mark the end of freedom in the EU. An interesting perspective appeared in the Jerusalem Post. Until Geert Wilders is given his rights we should all boycott Dutch products including Shell Oil.

THE PRESIDENCY

OBAMA RECESS APPOINTMENTS? - Senator Barack Obama vehemently opposed the recess appointments of President George W. Bush, as did Senator Harry Reid who now controls the Senate. Now both men believe that recess appointments are a vital way to "... keep government functioning." The Obama Administration has a staggering backlog of vacancies in key positions. Most of those vacancies have nothing to do with Senate "holds," but rather the lack of vetting candidates for appointment. REALITY: The Obama Administration has been so busy with a far left agenda of "health care reform," carbon tax," and forced unionization that filling jobs and fixing the economy has had little attention.
PAGAN AIR FORCE? - The new "worship circle" at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs represents nothing new. Wiccans and pagans have been part of the fourteen approved "religious groups" for more than a decade according to reports. Attention was called to the activities of the pagans and witches at the Academy because a cross was left at the pagan outdoor ritual site. About ten cadets and another thirty local servicemen participate in pagan or witchcraft rituals. The leader of the pagan group is Tech. Sgt. Brandon Longcrier, who moved the pagan center from a building to an outside venue last year. Doesn't it give you a warm, fuzzy and protected feeling to know that people in our armed services who believe in witchcraft have control of modern firepower, including nuclear weapons? One of these days maybe we can elect a veteran who is a gay witch to the Presidency.
$100 IN THE BANK COUNTS AS $1000? - Someone recently sent me this explanation of how the Federal Reserve Bank's fractional reserve system works: "If the reserve requirement is 10%, for example, a bank that receives a $100 deposit may lend out $90 of that deposit. If the borrower then writes a check to someone who deposits the $90, the bank receiving that deposit can lend out $81. As the process continues, the banking system can expand the initial deposit of $100 into a maximum of $1,000 of money ($100+$90+81+$72.90+...=$1,000)." In other words, about 90% of the money in "circulation" does not really exist. President Barack Obama wants to increase the phony money supply with yet another stimulus. An interesting site explains why it is mathematically impossible to pay off the national debt. Read more

CONGRESS SNOWED OUT - A second record blizzard hit Washington the day funding to stop "global warming" was to be discussed in the Senate. All hearings and votes were canceled. The amount of snow that has fallen on Washington, DC this season is a record setter. The previous record was in 1889. Washington has had more than 55 inches so far this season. Conservative Senator Jim Inhofe, who has fought the global warming religion for years in the Senate, made light of the issue and wondered aloud where Al Gore was hiding in the snow. Read more
LAST KENNEDY LEAVES CONGRESS - Congressman Patrick Kennedy (D-RI) made it official today: "... my life is taking a new direction, and I will not be a candidate for reelection this year." With those words he announced that more than fifty years of a member of his family holding office in either the House or Senate had ended. Because of his long record of substance abuse problems, and his absences from session while in rehab clinics, it is difficult to tell if his decision was personal or politically based. After the election of Republican Scott Brown in Massachusetts his seat was also looking vulnerable. Read more

SHELL OIL BEHIND ATTACK ON RELIGIOUS FREEDOM? - Royal Dutch Shell markets gas in the United States under the Shell brand. This Dutch company is making further inroads into "Islamic nations" because of the huge immigration of Muslims to the Netherlands. It is no surprise then that the Dutch government is trying to jail the leader of the second largest party in the European Union because he "insulted" Islam. The persecution of Geert Wilders is political and economic. The Dutch authorities want the revenue from the largest firm in the Netherlands and that is Shell. The government wants to shut up any criticism of Islam that it believes would reduce Shell's profits. The solution of the Dutch government in the Netherlands is to eliminate free speech to increase possible Islamic revenue and that, I believe, is the reason for the persecution of Geert Wilnders. THE PRESIDENCY
OBAMA SAYS ATHEISTS EXPRESS GOD'S GRACE - In President Obama's liberal mindset all religions are the same. Liberals view religion as a "tradition" or a "personal preference" rather than as God's revelation of eternal truth. Obama actually stated at the National Prayer Breakfast this week that God's grace is expressed "by Americans of every faith, and no faith, uniting around a common purpose, a higher purpose." What is he talking about? Atheists don't express God's grace. Buddhism and Hinduism don't have the concept of redemption at all. Obama has no idea what he is talking about. Although he claims to be a Christian he never mentioned Christ or Christianity once, although he did manage to show some disrespect for evangelical pastors and at the same time promote the homosexual agenda by criticizing "homophobia." There were other firsts for President Obama. Breaking the long held tradition that the Prayer Breakfast should not be too political, he pushed his political agenda including his "health reform" and amnesty for illegals. He was followed by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who said, "religion, cloaked in naked power lust, is used to justify horrific violence, attacks on homes, markets, schools, volleyball games, churches, mosques, synagogues, temples." While she went on to talk about jihadist attacks she never mentioned Islam, giving the impression that all religions behave in such a manner. A lot of pastors from all over the world come to the National Prayer Breakfast each year, and I know many of them are deeply grieved by what they heard at this event.
OBAMA AID INSULTS POPE AGAIN - Harry Knox is the radical homosexual who is a member of President Barack Obama's Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. Obama stood by Knox when he said that Pope Benedict XVI is "hurting people in the name of Jesus." This week in a news conference Knox reaffirmed his viral anti-Catholic attitude to the point that Majority Leader John Boehner is calling for his resignation. Knox, who claims to have once been a Methodist minister, promotes the homosexual agenda and was a key leader in the Human Rights Campaign, an organization that wants to silence all criticism of homosexuality. YOUR STIMULUS DOLLARS AT WORK - Penn State University got $1.5 million to study plant fossils in Argentina. Of five jobs "created," two are in Argentina. One hundred residents of Buffalo, NY were paid $45 each to tell researchers how much malt liquor they drank while smoking pot, as part of a "study" that cost $389,000. Meanwhile, three grad students in Arizona got $1 million to study how ants work -- that is over $300,000 per job! My favorite was an aerospace company that received $15 million to monitor water quality in a creek that it had already been fined for polluting! It gets worse. The stimulus funds have been wasted for the most part on non-private sector jobs that provide no real goods or services. After a year of "stimulus," unemployment is higher and the nation is deeper in debt. America needs real jobs, not ridiculously expensive "keep busy" government programs.

THE CONGRESS

RADICAL EXTREMIST APPOINTED TO HEAD LEGAL COUNSEL -President Obama has nominated a radical, baby-hating feminist to head the Office of Legal Counsel. The nominee, Dawn Johnsen, has filed legal briefs in which she compared pregnancy to slavery. She also called pregnant women "losers" and "fetal containers." Johnsen has compared those who oppose abortion to members of the Ku Klux Klan. Johnsen is so radical as a baby hater that she opposes Democrat plans to reduce the demand for abortion. As head of the Office of Legal Counsel, she will not represent all Americans, only a minority of baby hating feminists. Representatives of numerous organizations have written to Senators asking that her nomination be rejected. (See letter) View Congressman Cantor comments on Dawn Johnsen. ABOUT THAT DEBT

YOU OWE $10,000 TO CHINA - I hope we all like our new Chinese toasters, because they're going to cost our kids and grandkids thousands of dollars each! Right now our government owes $12.3 trillion, or a little over $40 thousand for every man woman and child in America. If you have a family of four then you owe $160 thousand. The Congress just upped the debt limit to $14,294,000,000,000 or a little over $45,000 for each and every person in the United States. The debt per family, just to China alone, is about $10,000. See actual amendment language. More than half the debt is owned by foreign entities such as oil rich Muslims and the Chinese government. Currently the interest on our public debt is $1.5 billion a day. Should the USA credit rating drop from AAA, which is likely, the interest paid must rise.
A HOUSE YOU CAN'T AFFORD - We have all watched as millions of Americans lost homes to foreclosure in the last two years. While a few home owners lost jobs, most of the home losses were caused by families borrowing more than they could pay back. When these families borrowed the money, they believed that sometime in the future they would make more money and be able to keep the homes. It didn't work out that way. Today our federal government is doing the same thing, borrowing trillions of dollars in the hope that future income will somehow cover the payments. With an aging population and the manufacturing base having moved to China, it is highly unlikely that future income will increase. On the contrary the debt will balloon as baby boomers retire and the government pays for their medical expenses. Today's federal debt does not include the $35 trillion or more dollars needed for baby-boomers retirement and medical expenses. China can't lend us that much, they don't have it. Not even the entire world has the money to pay the obligations the United States has promised to pay in the next thirty years. At some time in the future the house is going to be foreclosed on.

INTERNATIONAL

SWEDEN DEPORTS IRAQI CHRISTIANS - The Swedish government appears to have no problem allowing the construction of mosques financed by Saudi Arabia, but has kicked Iraqi Christians out of the country illegally. An Assyrian news agency reports that "25 Assyrian persons and families were forcibly returned to Iraq. Upon their arrival at Baghdad airport, no arrangements were made to safely transport them to their final destinations. With the threat of kidnapping very high, nearly all stayed at the airport, only to be helped by Assyrians working at the airport, who realized the returnees were Assyrian. Of the 25 who were returned, 24 fled the country again, and one was given refugee status by UNHCR in Ankara, which has acknowledged that it is not safe for Assyrians and other Christians in Iraq." An investigation of the reports in Sweden by a radio station has created political problems for the leftist government. Read more
DUTCH RULE AGAINST FAIR TRIAL -A Dutch court has ruled that the defense cannot call witnesses to defend Ge,ert Wilders. Of the eighteen witnesses he called in his defense only three will be permitted by the court, and the public is not allowed to hear their testimony. On the other hand the pro-Muslim prosecution witnesses will be allowed press coverage. The trial against the conspirators who attempted to kill Adolph Hitler was conducted in a more fair and open manner. The Dutch government allows Islamic imans to preach anti-Semitic hatred every Friday. Dutch Muslim publications slur Christians and Jews and call for the death of anyone who converts from Islam. All that appears to be permitted under "free speech" in the Netherlands, but criticizing Islam gets you put in jail. The trial of Geert Wilders is really about the surrender of the Netherlands to Islam. The Dutch government fears their Muslim immigrants. Their cowardice causes them to persecute those who cherish free speech. Anyone doing business with Dutch firms such as Shell Oil (part of Royal Dutch Shell) is participating in the persecution of Geert Wilders. L earn more
MODERATE INDONESIA CLOSES CHURCHES - Our American department stores are full of clothes made in the "moderate" Islamic nation of Indonesia (although I, for one, don't buy them) . Last week authorities ordered the Christian Baptist Church in Sepatan, Tangerang district, Banten Province to cease services. In West Java, officials closed the Huria Christian Protestant Batak Church (HKBP). This is the same "moderate" Islamic nation where three teenaged Christian girls were beheaded and Christian villages attacked and burned to the ground. Read more
