Obama ignores mass killing of Christians - In the last two weeks there have been two car bombings in the majority Christian city of Jaramana, Syria. Ten were killed in the first bombing and eighteen, including three children, in the most recent bombing this week. Not a word from the White House of protest when Obama's "rebels" kill civilians, including children. I appeared on the Mike Huckabee show this week to discuss the bombings in Jaramana. Dishonoring those who serve - August 6, 2013 was the second anniversary of the deaths of more than a dozen members of SEAL TEAM 6 and support personnel who died in the ambush of their Chinook CH-47. Obama ignored the second anniversary of this tragic event. He was too busy giving speeches and then appearing with Jay Leno to discuss playing golf and basketball. Read more
Former Army officer on radical transformation - Retired Army Colonel Lawrence Sellin, Ph.D writes: "The anti-American political philosophies underlying the policies of Barack Hussein Obama can be defined as the juncture of three ideologies: socialism, Islam and opportunistic racism, to foster resentment among minority groups and promote race and class conflict as a lubricant for his radical transformation of the United States." Senator warns of persecution of pastors - Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) recently warned of the coming persecution of pastors for upholding traditional marriage and biblical truth. Read more
Congressmen file suit to allow legislative prayer - Congressman J. Randy Forbes (VA-04), founder and Co-chairman of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, along with Congressman Steve Scalise (LA-01), Chairman of the Republican Study Committee, have led 85 Members of the House of Representatives in defending legislative prayer before the Supreme Court of the United States. Congressional resolution on persecution of Copts - Congressman Trent Franks (R-AZ), Congressman Joe Pitts (R-PA), and others have just introduced House Resolution 329 to express support for religious freedom in Egypt - especially for Coptic Christians who are being targeted by Islamists. Read more
Congress in recess - The House will return on September 9th as per the schedule posted at the beginning of the year by Leader Cantor. Because Senate Leader Harry Reid is nuts, there is no telling when the Senate will reconvene and if they will do anything when they do reconvene.
Religion and Culture 
Deadly month of Ramadan - The "holy" month of Ramadan kicked off by warm comments from President Obama ended at sundown on August 7th. Terror attacks by Muslims during their "holy" month totaled 310, leaving 1,651 people killed and 3,048 more wounded. The attacks included 28 suicide bombers who sought their 72 virgins by blowing themselves up and killing civilians, including children. Most of the attacks were against other Muslims, but included attacks on Buddhists, Christians, Hindus and secularists. International
Syria: Islamists slaughter 120 Kurdish children - Reports have emerged detailing a new massacre in which 450 Kurds - including 120 children - were allegedly slaughtered by al-Qaeda-linked rebels fighting against the Syrian government. The report has sparked international concern. According to Iranian TV channel Al-Alam, militants from the Jabhat al-Nusra Front attacked the town of Tal Abyad on Monday, killing 120 children and 330 women and elderly near the Turkish border. Somalia: Three American jihadists killed - The list of Americans dying for jihad in foreign lands continues to grow. MEMRI has translated a video from a pro-jihad site that features three Americans who have died fighting jihad in Somalia to obtain their 72 virgins in paradise. Read more
Philippines: Muslims attack school/hospital - Five people were killed and 26 others were injured today in the city of Cotabato, Philippines. The bomb was placed in a van or other vehicle near a hospital and school during the afternoon rush hour. Read more
Iraq: Ramadan death total rising - During the month of July more than 1,000 Iraqi civilians were killed by Islamists trying to topple the government installed by the United States. It is the worst death toll for one month in more than five years. During the nine years the US was involved in Iraq, 4,486 American servicemen died and countless more were wounded . Read more

The Presidency
More Christians killed by Obama's "rebels" - The final death toll is not yet in from a series of car bombs and suicide bombers who attacked the Christian neighborhoods of Damascus and the Christian town of Jaramana. The death toll as of late Thursday was 54, although rescue workers were still digging in the rubble. There has been no condemnation of the attacks on civilians by President Obama or anyone associated with the Administration. Senator John McCain who supports Barack Obama's Islamist "rebels" also refused to issue a condemnation of the murder of Christians in Syria. Read more
Obama supports Muslim oppression - Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood President Mohammed Morsi issued a degree forbidding courts to rule against virtually anything he does in what can only be described as assuming dictatorial powers. Although Christians and secularists are demonstrating in the streets of Cairo, the Obama Administration stands firmly with Morsi and has no criticism of his power grab. Meanwhile Morsi's organization, the Muslim Brotherhood continues call for jihad against Israel and the killing of Jews.
Congress
Grover Norquist and the Congress - Before I discuss Grover Norquist's tax pledge, I wish to describe the man: Grover has a full beard (like all observant Muslims) and is married to a Palestinian Muslim woman. Sometimes he claims to be a Christian. He was married to his Muslim wife by a Jewish rabbi in violation of the Torah. He has two adopted daughters who were given both Christian and Muslim names. Politically he is driven by the Libertarian concept of the worship of money. He holds social Darwinist Ayn Rand in the highest of esteem. It was Grover Norquist who brought Muslims into the highest levels of the Bush White House and continues to support members of the Muslim Brotherhood in establishing "good will." He is of course a fighter against "Islamaphobia," and he stated that Islam "is completely consistent with the U.S. Constitution and a free and open society." Norguist also brought a homosexual PAC in as a sponosr of the Conservative Political Action Conference causing many social conservative groups to leave. Yes, this is the nut case that the entire Republican establishment has taken orders from for the last twenty years.
The "tax pledge" is not what most Americans think it is. It is, and always has been, a tool to keep tax loopholes for giant corporations -- the kind of loopholes that allowed General Electric to earn billions in profits and pay no taxes at all. (The small business guy can't afford a full time team of high priced tax lawyers, so too bad for him.) According to Grover Norquist, closing tax loopholes or ending any taxpayer subsidies to industries is a tax increase. The "tax pledge" is and has always been a "screw the small tax payer and small businessman pledge" to keep taxes low for big industries and special interest groups.
Some Republicans now want to LOWER the tax rates for all of us and close the loopholes and stop the subsidy payments to various industries. According to Grover Norguist and Fox News commentators such as Shawn Hannity, that is a tax increase. Even a flat tax is a "tax increase" because while most would pay less, some would pay more. According to Norquist if 99% of workers have their taxes lowered but just 1% have to pay more because of closed loopholes, it is a tax increase and any congressman or Senator who votes for a plan like it is in "violation" of the Norguist tax pledge. Advice to the GOP: Hide this guy in a closet and fix the broken tax code. The tax code Norquist is protecting is now estimated to be as much as 75,000 pages. The core law, without regulations, is twice the length of the Bible. We need to dump this monster tax code, not protect it, and we need to institute a simple tax structure. What we have now is a system in which two individuals can earn the same amount of money, but one pays nothing in tax and the other hands over one-third to the government. That has to stop.
Religion and Culture Islam film maker unrepentant - The Egyptian-born Coptic Christian who made the anti-Islam film that sparked protests across the Muslim world says he has no regrets. In a New York Times interview, Mark Basseley Youssef said he wanted to reveal "the actual truth" about Mohammad and raise awareness of the violence committed "under the sign of Allah." Read more
Carnival's gay drag queen cruise - Gerry Cahill, Carnival's CEO, said in a letter that was posted on the cruise line's Facebook page that "anyone who wishes to dress in drag may do so." He has now changed his mind about the gay themed cruise because many families who are not queer will be on the same ship. Cahill is offering a refund to any queer who is offended by not being allowed to dress in drag. I am curious as to what Cahill would do if a Muslim "themed" group was also on board.Read more
International
Eight, including Americans, to die for free speech? - The
headlines have say that several Coptic Christians living in the USA
have been sentenced to death for blasphemy by an Egyptian court for
being associated with the Innocence of Muslim film. Actually, some of
those are American citizens, including pastor Terry Jones in Florida.
The White House has not condemned the outrage against free speech and
neither has any member of Congress on either side of the aisle. Read more.
Syria: Suicide
bombers supported by Barack Obama in Syria have killed dozens of
civilians Christians this week. Read more in Presidency section.
Syria: Syria
has presented the UN Security Council a list of 143 foreign citizens
killed in Syria fighting government troops. The Syrian government
reportedly presented proof that citizens of 19 different nations had
fought jihad against Syria.
Nigeria: On November 22nd 18 Christians were killed in an attack by Muslims in Maiduguri.
Nigeria:On November 23rd a church was burned and four Christians killed by Muslims on a rumor of Blasphemy of Mohammed.
Nigeria: On
November 25th St. Andrew Military Protestant Church was hit with
suicide bombers who killed 15 in Jaji. All deaths are in the name of the
"religion of peace."
