GOOD FRIDAY - This is the day that Our Lord suffered the Cross as a sacrifice that all who believe may have eternal life. What appeared to be defeat to His tearful followers became a victory over death as He arose the 3rd day. May God bless you on this Holy Day.

The Presidency
Obama's "free Syria" covers young girls in black-
Girls are covered from head to foot in schools in the "liberated" part of Syria. This curse on the women of Syria is brought to you by President Barack Obama and his main supporter in the destruction of secular states in the Middle East, Senator John McCain. Under the Assad "regime" wearing coverings to a public school was against the law. In the "new" Syria it is mandatory. Read more See International below for more on Obama's help for jihadists in Syria
Obama's "Arab Spring" Tunisia: "Stone her to death" - A Tunisian preacher is demanding that a protester, 19, be executed for posting her topless pictures on Facebook with an anti-Islamic slogan on her chest. To avoid arrest her parents have apparently placed her in a mental institution. Read more
Sleeping With The Devil - A former CIA operative, Robert Baer, exposes how Washington politics drastically compromised the CIA's efforts to fight global terrorism. Baer turns his attention to Saudi Arabia, revealing how our government's cynical relationship with our Middle Eastern ally and America's dependence on Saudi oil make us increasingly vulnerable to economic disaster and puts us at risk for further acts of terrorism.
Congress
Congress in recess -
Both the House and Senate are on a two week "District Work" break. While many Senators can take time off to bask in the sun somewhere, members of the House actually have to return to their districts and meet with constituents. All have offices in their districts. Congress will reconvene on April 9th. See House Calendar
Congressman: " Don't arm our enemies" - Congressman Louie Gohmert, a committed Christian and social conservative, delivered a speech critical of the Obama Administration for the dismantling of our armed forces and the arming of potential enemies such as Egypt with sophisticated weapons. Read more
No tax dollars for jihadists - The Religious Freedom Coalition has begun an online petition asking congressmen to speak out against any funding, military or otherwise, to jihadists anywhere in the world. The petition comes at a time the Obama Administration is furnishing CIA help as well as cash and "humanitarian" aid to jihadists fighting the secular government of Syria. Provide your name and zip code, and a copy of the petition will be faxed to your congressman free of charge. See petition here.

American Al-Qaeda fighter arrested -
What a contradiction for our government! A former Army soldier from Phoenix who joined rebels fighting the Syrian government and boasted to FoxNews.com of his exploits as a Muslim soldier of fortune earlier this month was arrested Wednesday in Virginia and could face life in prison. WHY? This man was fighting for the terrorists our government supports to overthrow the secular government of Syria and install an Islamist regime. Read more

Report From Washington - March 22, 2013

Editor: William J. Murray

In this issue: Obama in Israel - why now? / Obama to Israelis: Pretend you're Palestinians / Obama and the great green con / No tax dollars for jihadists / Jewish Senator wants jihadist state in Syria / Is U.S foreign aid a "jizya? / Hamas supporter to head Syrian rebels / Tenth anniversary of Iraq war - 20 bombings / More Christian kids murdered in Nigeria / "Moderate" Indonesia to tear down church \ Join me in fact finding trip to Israel.

The Presidency
Why Israel, why now? -
That is the question of many professional Middle Eastern experts as they watch President Obama's trip to Israel unfold. He and Prime Minister Netanyahu seem to be lavishing praise on each other, although it is widley known the two men detest each other. My guess: Obama will promise future support for Israel in return for putting the Muslim Brotherhood in charge not only in Syria but in Jordan as well.

Obama to Israeli youth -Pretend you are Palestinians - These were Obama's exact words to Israeli college students: ""Put yourself in their shoes - look at the world through their eyes. It is not fair that a Palestinian child cannot grow up in a state of her own, and lives with the presence of a foreign army that controls the movements of her parents every single day." Note that he called the Israel Army presence in Samaria "foreign."
Great Green Con - Global warming is not normally an issue for this update, but it sure is an issue for President Barack Obama who wants to spend trillions of taxpayers dollars to save the planet from getting warmer - OOPS - there seems to be a problem. The Earth is not warming as predicted by the gloomsters. Read more

Jewish Senator supports jihadists in Syria -
Armed Services Chairman Carl Levin, who is Jewish, has joined Senator John McCain in calling on Obama to bomb airports in Syria to help establish yet another Islamist state on the border of Israel. Strangely, the two Senators used a chemical attack by the Islamists on Syrian government troops as a reason to bomb the Syrian government troops.

Conservative Senators offer Pro-life legislation - Florida Senator Marco Rubio is offering the "Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act." This will require that an abortionist, before performing an abortion on a minor from another state, must first notify one parent, unless the minor is the victim of sexual abuse or faces a life-endangering emergency. Other pro-life amendments to budget bills were offered by Senators Mike Lee and David Vitter. Read more

Using the Fax Congress system - The new system we are using to fax congressmen works, it's free, and it really helps me when I call congressional offices. E-mail addresses are NOT collected unless a box is checked for this weekly update from the Hill. I have received complaints that the system has too many steps and asks for too much information ... We must guard against sending anonymous faxes to congressmen. We must be able to prove that the fax you send is from a real person in his district. If we don't have the safeguards in place the faxes go in the trash. The information collected is confidential and not sold.

Is US foreign aid to Egypt a "jizya?" -
In sharia law, jizya refers either to tribute paid by non-Muslim nations to ward off jihad attack, or to a head tax paid by conquered non-Muslim adult males living under Islamic conditions. Islamic scholar Dr. Mark Durie asks if the current foreign aid to Islamic nations is not in fact a payment of tribute or jizya. Read more

Lesbian parenthood and drinking - The American Pediatric Society made a statement approving of same-sex marriage saying the outcome for children is no different than for those raised in normal homes. Meanwhile the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded $2.7 million to study why lesbians are at a higher "risk for hazardous drinking." This follows another study to learn why most lesbians are obese. Dysfunctional is dysfunctional, and same-sex relationships are as dysfunctional as hazardous drinking and eating.

Report From Washington - March 15, 2013

Editor: William J. Murray

In this issue: U.S. supports jihadists now? / Obama wants to remove "right to life" from UN declaration /White House silent on Saudi persecution of Christians / No tax dollars for jihadists / Senator may help Christians in Saudi Arabia / Using the Fax Congress system / New Pope should defend religious liberty / France: Frenchmen fight on both sides / UK Muslim MP blames Jews for his 16 day stay in jail for killing man / Australia: Wilders warns of Islam / Bangladesh: Hindus meet same fate as Christians / Join me in fact finding trip to Israel.

The Presidency
U. S. supports jihadists now? -
Less than 12 years after the devastating jihad attack on 9-11 that left thousands dead and our nation in shock, the Obama Administration is openly supporting radical Islamists in overthrowing secular governments in the Middle East. As I pointed out in my current WND.COM column Obama was not, unfortunately, the first president to support jihadists. Still, the post 9-11 support of Islamists should at least cause some in the media to a least ask questions, but that has not happened.
Obama wants removal of "right to life" from UN declaration - It is disturbing to learn that the U.S. delegation to the UN Commission on the Status of Women is calling for deleting a reaffirmation that every human being has the "inherent right to life, liberty and security of persons." This contradicts a foundational principle of citizens and civilizations worldwide. As chairman of the Religious Freedom Coalition I signed a group letter letter to Secretary of State Kerry demanding that this outrageous position be changed.
The White House and Saudi persecution of Christians - In the last two weeks I have written a column for WND.COM and appeared on radio shows including Mike Huckabee's national show to expose the persecution of African Christians who are guest workers in Saudi Arabia. I have posted stories on Facebook that have had thousands of visits. I placed an online petition asking congressmen to speak out against the Saudi persecution of Christians. That petition can be faxed for free to your congressman if you will sign it. The net result of my two weeks of work is 14 people who have contacted their congressman. I am flat out ashamed at the response and embarrassed to actually show up at a congressman's office claiming I have support from the American Christian community to stop the persecution and torture of Christians in Saudi Arabia. No wonder Barack Obama is so confident of his support for the Muslim Brotherhood and Saudi Arabia.
Congress
GOP Senator supports same-sex marriage now that son is "gay" -
Senator Portman (R-OH) has given up his previously stated core beliefs and the position of his church to support same-sex marriage because he has a homosexual son. Homosexual sex is ultimately just as destructive as cocaine use. Would Portman suddenly call for the legalization of cocaine if his son had announced that he was a cocaine addict? Read more
No tax dollars for jihadists - The Religious Freedom Coalition has begun an online petition asking congressmen to speak out against any funding, military or otherwise, to jihandists anywhere in the world. The petition comes at a time the Obama Administration is furnishing CIA help as well as cash and "humanitarian" aid to jihadists fighting the secular government of Syria. Provide your name and zip code, and a copy of the petition will be faxed to your congressman free of charge. See petition here.
Senator may help Christians in Saudi Arabia - This week I spoke to a Senator at length about the continued arrests and torture of guest workers in Saudi Arabia who are Christians. As of now only Congressman Fortenberry has spoken out in the House. A free fax petition is available to send to your congressman asking that he speak out against the abuse of Christians in Saudi Arabia. See petition here
Using the Fax Congress system - The new system we are using to fax congressmen works, its free and it really helps me when I call congressional offices. E-mail addresses are NOT collected unless a box is checked for this weekly update from the Hill. I encourage you to use this system. There is an additional charge to send a fax to Senators - but - the Religious Freedom Coalition gets half the fee to use for our work and it is only two bucks. Please use the system because it does work and it does help.

Rather, the French government is arguing for the EU to supply arms to jihadist fighters in Syria. Read more

The Presidency
Money for Muslim Brotherhood but none for White House tours -
Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi has his own personal piggy bank for his totalitarian Islamist goals in the Middle East. Thanks to Secretary of State John Kerry and his boss, Barack Obama, Islamist Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood are being showered with $1 billion in aid from the U.S. We get to pay for the destruction of freedom in the Middle East, while kids are barred from the White House tours for "lack of funds." State Department award to anti-Semite - The Weekly Standard first reported that the First Lady and the Secretary of State would "honor" a woman who said it was "sweet news" when Israelis were killed in a bus bombing. The woman, Egyptian born Samira Ibrahim, has quoted Hitler on Twitts and frequently proclaims the 9-11 jihad attack on the United States as a great day for Islam. Decisions such as this explain why the State Department is referred to as "Foggy Bottom" here in Washington, DC. Read more

Senator grills Holder on social issues -
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) grilled Attorney General Eric Holder on his views about using armed drones to kill Americans on US soil, and on the Obama Administration's refusal to enforce laws that it does not like - rather than upholding all laws passed by Congress. Cruz noted that Holder's DOJ has refused to enforce voter intimidation laws against the New Black Panthers; has chosen not to defend the Defense of Marriage Act; and has chosen to ignore laws involving illegal immigration. Bill to protect religious freedom in ObamaCare - Congressmen Diane Black (R-TN), Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE), and John Fleming, M.D. (R-LA) held a press conference to announce the introduction of the Health Care Conscience Rights Act (HCCRA). HCCRA offers a reprieve from ongoing violations of our First Amendment, including full exemption from the Obama Administration's Health and Human Services (HHS) mandate and conscience protection for individuals and health care entities that refuse to provide, pay for, or refer patients to abortion providers because of their deeply-held, reasoned beliefs. Report From Washington - March 1, 2013

Editor: William J. Murray

In this issue: The Sequester Scare, part 2 / Direct aid to terrorists / See no Saudi evil / Congressman speaks out on Saudi evil / Muslim congressman spokesman for racist group / Prayer Caucus fights abortion mandate / 20th anniversary of first WTC attack / UN: Turkey's PM calls Zionism a "crime against humanity" / Turkey: How democracy died / Nigeria: 16 die during phoney Muslim cease fire / Join me in a fact finding mission to Israel

The Presidency
The Sequester Scare part 2- At midnight last night the sequester took effect, and the United States did not collapse as President Obama said it would. The military has not been shut down and there are no five hour delays at airports. Obama even released hundreds of convicted felons illegally in the United States to scare the American people into backing his tax increases. None of it worked. Why? There are no real cuts in spending in the sequester. The cuts were made only to the proposed increases in spending for 2012.
Direct aid to terrorists - Unhappy that the black flag of jihad is not flying over Damascus, the Obama Administration is now considering direct military aid to the two year old jihadist rebellion against the secular government of Syria. Obama claims the "sequester" has destroyed the readiness of our military, but at the same time says he can somehow find tens of millions of dollars to arm the "rebels" in Syria who are trying to overthrow the secular government there.
See no Saudi evil - Last week I reported on the arrests of 53 Ethiopian Christians in Saudi Arabia for the "crime" of praying in private. The White House seems to approve of the arrests of the Christians, while condemning the arrest of an anarchist band in Russia after they defiled the altar of a church. I wrote a lengthy op-ed on the Administration's support of intolerance and evil in Saudi Arabia which has appeared in several places including WND.COM. See my column here
Congress
Congressman speaks out on Saudi evil - So far only one lawmaker has spoken up about the latest abuse of Christians by the Saudi Arabia monarchy/dictatorship. Rep. Jeff Fortenberry, (R-NE), who sits on the Caucus on Religious Minorities in the Middle East said, "Nations that wish to be a part of the responsible nations of the world must see the protection of religious freedom and the principles of reason as an essential part of the duty of the state." Muslim congressman spokesman for racist group - Congressman Keith Ellison refuses to explain his association with the anti-Semitic, anti-white Nation of Islam. Newspaper reports from the 1990's indicate Ellison was an activist for Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam, even speaking on behalf of the controversial group as a "representative." During his first campaign for Congress, Ellison claimed he had never been a Nation of Islam member. Read more
Prayer Caucus fights abortion mandate - The Congressional Prayer Caucus, founded by Rep. Randy Forbes, has recently filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit in support of Hobby Lobby's challenge to the abortion mandate in Obamacare. The abortion mandate forces Christian-run businesses like Hobby Lobby to provide abortion, contraceptives, and sterilization resources to their employees. Read more
