BUSH JUST WILL NOT HELP IRAQ'S CHRISTIANS - The murder in Mosul, Iraq of Archbishop Paulos Faraj Rahho is on the hands of President George W. Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Their refusal to assist the persecuted Christians in Iraq has emboldened Islamists to pillage, rape and murder them. Had the Bush Administration been proactive, the archbishop's life could have been spared. The Administration will not even allow Christians in Iraq to form a police force, while giving Islamist extremists such as Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr the right to maintain small armies. The White House did not even condemn the kidnapping and Coalition forces in Iraq treated it as a "criminal affair" even though the demand of the kidnappers was for Christians to attack American forces. KARL ROVE'S "M & M" TICKET - Former Bush sidekick Karl Rove is daily pushing his McCain and Mitt ticket, almost as if he were being paid big bucks as a Mitt Romney promoter. Karl Rove claims to be an evangelical and should understand the dynamics working against Romney. As a Washington insider he knows full well that Mitt Romney will further weaken the already shaky support of evangelicals for McCain. They will be driven away in mass from the Republican ticket, yet he persists in pushing Romney for the number two slot. A large coalition of Christian evangelicals is forming to stop the Romney for VP train. Paid advertising has already been reserved for a media campaign to expose Romney's left leaning background.

A PASTOR TOO FAR - All of a sudden conservative radio and TV talk show hosts have obtained videos of Barack Obama's long time pastor preaching that the US government invented AIDS to kill black people. Dr. Wright is also shown proclaiming that God should damn America and that this nation was responsible for the 911 Jihad attack against it. Just about every bad thing in the world, according to him, is the fault of "rich white people." Hmmm. I wonder who could have secretly recorded these racist tirades? Could Hillary want to win so badly that she had this vicious material from Obama's church delivered to Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh? Click here for more information.

THE HOUSE

NO SPY BILL - Billionaires who are involved in the transfers of hundreds of millions of dollars internationally are the primary backers of the Democrat party. These men, including extremist billionaire George Soros do not want the government to have the ability to eaves drop on international communications. The president says he needs the authority to stop terrorists, but the Democrat controlled House is resistant because their billionaire buddies' international transactions, which may be illegal, could also be traced. Speaker Nancy Pelosi also wants these billionaires to have the right to sue any telecom company that gives the government information that could put them in jail. It does not seem to matter to Pelosi that protecting her billionaire buddies gives terrorists the opportunity to get past our intelligence services and attack American targets.

NOT MUCH HERE - Radical leftist Speaker Pelosi has turned the House into a platform of political attacks for election year and not much is getting done. There have been over 70 votes on pulling our troops out of Iraq. Each votes requires debate, taking huge amounts of time. She now plans a variety of hearings she hopes will assist the Democrats in winning elections in November. The Republicans demanded a secret session of Congress in hopes something could get done if the media spotlight was off of Pelosi.

CONGRESS SHUTS DOWN TODAY - Not that it makes much of a difference, but the House will recess at the end of business today for two weeks. Not much of anything is being accomplished. Thankfully the recess will begin before Nancy Pelosi has the chance for a vote on her proposed $600 billion dollar tax hike.

THE SENATE

MORE SCHIP MISCHIEF - The Senate rejected an amendment by Senator Wayne Allard (R-CO) that would have given medical coverage to uninsured children from conception to age 19. The Allard amendment failed by a vote of 46-52.

The personhood of the unborn would have been recognized, which caused the Democrats to vote against it. Democrats in the Senate do not consider an unborn child to be a person. Instead, they passed an amendment by Barbara Boxer that defines ALL pregnant women as children so they can receive the free medical coverage in SCHIP from the government. See Right to Life statement

SENATE RAISES TAXES - Senator Reid and his Democrat Senate continued the march to the far left with more than just social issues. While abandoning the pro-life issues such as the Allard amendment to SCHIP, Reid continued on to knock most of the Bush tax cuts out of the budget. The result will be the largest single tax hike in American history. The Democrats plan to use the money to "take care" of us and give us the "things needed." Read an op-ed on this.

SENATE RECESS - The Senate has been involved in a "vote-o-rama" for the last 48 hours preparing for a two week Easter recess.

ONE IN FOUR TEENS HAVE STD- At least one in four American teenage girls has a sexually transmitted disease (STD) according to a new study. Half of the black teens had at least one STD. Whites and Mexican-American teens had an infection rate of 20% said the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Read more.

MONEY IS THEIR GOD - Would someone give a terrorist on his way to blow up a jetliner a fake ID in return for buying an overpriced car? In Ohio, car dealerships gave illegal aliens fake ID's to register the overpriced vehicles they were selling to them. The dealers were busted and are headed to jail, but what about the big multi-national corporations that sell our technology to our enemies and assist Islamic extremists in buying up our banks? When the sell out is for enough bucks it appears that even the authorities look in a different direction.

INTERNATIONAL

ARCHBISHOP MURDERED - The ransom demand for Archbishop Paulos Faraj Rahho was $3 million in cash and the promise that Chaldean Christians would attack certain Coalition targets and kill Americans. It was clear from the start that the archbishop was kidnapped by Islamic forces fighting the Coalition in Iraq, yet the Coalition did virtually nothing to find the Bishop. President Bush did not even make a public statement on his kidnapping despite the pleas of Pope Benedict. This was a dark moment in American history. Why will our government not allow Christians to have a police or militia in Iraq? We give the Muslims that right. Why are Christians not allowed to defend themselves?

THE PRESIDENT

BUSH WINS (DEMS LOSE) - There is a huge argument inside the Beltway as to whether President Bush won a victory on war funding or whether radical Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi lost. Bush did receive $70 billion in additional funding for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq with no strings attached. After one full year of trying to tie strings to war funding given to the President the Democrat controlled Congress handed him a virtual blank check as they left town.

BUSH'S 2007 ACCOMPLISHMENTS - The White House has issued a summary of Bush Administration accomplishments for 2007. Under the title "Year in Review" the public document covers the economy, home land security, health care and even "climate change." Those interested may view the document here.

HUCKABEE RISING - Despite attacks from the left and the right Mike Huckabee continues to rise in the polls in key states and nationally. Virtually the entire media establishment bashed him for mentioning Jesus in a Christmas TV ad but still his numbers rise. Perhaps people are learning that many of the attacks from the far left and the economic conservatives are just not true. I recently read a summary detailing the attacks on him that is very interesting. View it here.

THE HOUSE

THEY ARE GONE- The House adjourned for Christmas (Democrats call it "the holiday") right after Democrat leaders gave President Bush virtually everything he requested including no strings attached war funding. They were unable to pass bills giving special privileges to homosexuals as their "hate crimes" legislation died. The expansion of SCHIP into full blown socialized medicine failed and was extended to the President's specifications until March of 2009. Radical Speaker Pelosi was also unable to fund the destruction of human life with federal funds to abortionists. Democratic activists including the Geroge Soros' MoveOn.org have called the Democrat Congress a failure.

WITTMAN AND LATTA SWORN IN - Two new conservative members of the House were sworn in last week. Immediately after he was sworn in I spoke to Congressman Rob Wittman who now represents Virginia's first district. He is a true conservative who promised me he would work for pro-life and pro-family legislation.

THE SENATE

MANY SENATE VICTORIES- It appears that the Republicans can do more to promote the conservative cause in the minority than in the majority. Conservative Senators defended human life from attacks by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi by defeating most of her outrageous legislation when it reached the Senate. In all the conservatives in the Senate preserved virtually all pro-life, pro-family legislation and actually managed to promote other conservative agendas. Just before releasing this update I received this pre- release of a story in the Washington Times titled "Even in minority, GOP managed to get its way." The article confirms that Republicans skillfully using Senate rules and threatened Presidential vetoes blocked most of racial leftist Nancy Pelosi's agenda. View Washington Times story here.

NO SNOW IN BETHLEHEM? - The Archbishop of Canterbury, who is the leader of the Anglican Church, said that Jesus was probably not born in a manger, that there were no animals present and there was "probably" no snow as most Nativity Scenes depict. HMMM ... The photograph at left is of my daughter Katie standing in front of the entrance to the Old City in Jerusalem. As you can see the ground is covered with snow. The day the photo was taken we were to have been in Bethlehem but could not get there because of the snow. If the good Bishop doesn't know that it snows in Bethlehem what does he know about the Nativity Scene? His comments can be found here.

THE PRESIDENT
PRESIDENT WILL VETO GAY BILL
The White House warned the Democrat Congress that a pending piece of legislation to create new rights for homosexuals would be unconstitutional and it would be vetoed. H.R. 3685, the Employment Non- Discrimination Act, if passed would grant special employment rights and protected minority status to individuals based upon sexual behaviors. The law is based on the individual's "perception" of being persecuted. Under this bill, non-denominational Christian schools would be forced to hire homosexuals. Click here for the White House SAP.

THE HOUSE
PELOSI SETS RECORD-
Congress has failed to send a single annual spending bill to the President's desk for fiscal Year 2008 which actually began nearly a month ago. While several have passed the House and Senate in different versions, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has failed to appoint any conferees to reconcile differences between the House and Senate versions. The bill providing funding for our Veterans passed 133 days ago, but Speaker Pelosi continues to delay getting this and other bills to the President to sign. TAX RELIEF -
Congressman Rangel (D-NY), the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, offered a new tax plan to "lower" the taxes of 90 million Americans. However, most of those he proposes to help already pay no income tax at all. His bill would eliminate the dreaded Alternative Minimum tax by increasing the tax on small businessmen. Oddly, it is small independent businessmen who pay most of the AMT now. Republican presidential candidates seized on the moment. ``We certainly shouldn't raise taxes the way Charlie Rangel wants to,'' said former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. ``It would devastate the economy.'' Even Hillary Clinton is afraid to back the proposal, fearing it will expose her future plans to tax and spend. Clic k here for Bloomberg coverage of the tax hike.

THE SENATE
NO ABORTION FUNDING -
Sen. Vitter (R-LA) intends to file an amendment to S. 1200, the Indian Health Care Improvement Act. The amendment would codify a longstanding policy against funding of abortions with federal Indian Health Service (IHS) funds. The Senator has already offered an amendment to the Title X Family Planning amendment to the Labor Health and Human Services and Education Appropriations Bill that would prohibit the distribution of taxpayer dollars to abortion providers. "The federal government should not redirect taxpayer dollars to pay for acts that so many Americans find morally wrong," said Vitter. "This amendment closes a loophole for taxpayer funded abortions." FACT FINDING MISSION RETURNS -
Our fact finding mission to the Middle East to determine the condition of Iraqi Christian Refugees returned to the United States late Wednesday the 24th. The delegation, which was led by Governor David Beasley (R-SC), visited government officials and refugees in Jordan and Lebanon. Visas to Syria were withdrawn by that nation. A complete report and finding will be prepared and distributed.Overall the situation is not good for Iraqi refugees. In Jordan, our State Department has directed the Embassy to abdicate its responsibility for the refugees to the United Nations. The intake staff at the UNHCR is almost 100% Muslim, and Christian refugees seem to be mishandled. The situation in Lebanon appears to be somewhat better at the UNHCR because our embassy there appears to be more engaged in the refugee situation. On the other hand the Lebanese government is less tolerant of the refugees than is the Jordanian government. ATTACK NEAR OUR MISSION -
Gunmen in a blue van fired automatic weapons at the busy Ariel junction close to the Eshel Hashomron hotel. This is the main entrance to Ariel and the mission we support there. Evangelist David Ortiz told us this is the same location where in 2002, three soldiers were killed and 19 people were wounded by a suicide bomber. I have visited both the hotel and the gas station at the intersection. Both have been bombed. Click here for news report.

PRESIDENT
BUSH AND SOROS- Billionaire George Soros probably represents a greater threat to American democracy than does Hitler-want-to-be Ahmadinejad of Iran. Yet President George W. Bush, to my knowledge, has not once addressed this threat, not even when George Soros pays off government officials. The Soros controlled "Open Society Institute" paid more than $720,000 to a NASA employee to be a "whistle blower." In that capacity James Hansen received national press coverage speaking out for the global warming cause. In 2006 about 2 million illegal Mexicans took to the street demanding amnesty and the media portrayed it as a spontaneous event and President Bush sympathiized with them. In reality the entire event was orchestrated and paid for by George Soros' $17 million from the Justice Fund. Soros is tampering with the entire democratic system with his ill-gained billions from currency trading, and the Administration says nothing. Has George Soros become so powerful that even the Administration is fearful of addressing his activities? R ead Investors Daily editorial concerning the Soros threat to democracy.
PRESIDENT'S VETO OF SCHIP - Imagine a federal medical insurance program that would have the bottom 15% of households paying for the children of the top 25% of households. That is the version of the the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) that President George W. Bush decided to veto. Under the Nancy Pelosi orchestrated give-a-way , a family of four earning as much as $82,600 a year could cancel the medical insurance on their kids and have the government pick up the tab. About 45 out of every 100 children eligible currently have private insurance. SCHIP was intended for "poor" children, not the children of middle class families who are already insured.

THE HOUSE
SOMETHING TRULY DISGUSTING - Radical Nancy Pelosi sees nothing wrong with an ad depicting the Last Supper with Jesus Christ and the Disciples depicted as homosexual sadomasochists. The advertisement, with the logo of Miller Beer, among others, is for an event in Pelosi's district. Click here for a report on this disgusting anti-Christian event that "Catholic" Nancy Pelosi supports.
BLUNT FORCES "BETRAY US" VOTE - Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-MO) managed to add a "germane" amendment to the CR (Continuing resolution that funds the government) condemning the George Soros MoveOn.org "Betray Us" ad in the Times. This forced more than 100 Democrats to vote for it and it passed overwhelmingly. The vote condemned the MoveOn.org advertisement attacking our top U.S. general in Iraq. The final vote was 341-79. The core "progressive caucus" (socialists who are controlled by George Soros and MoveOn.org) voted against the resolution.
OLYMPIC BOYCOTT? - Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) is having a problem getting support for his House Resolution 610 expressing the sense of Congress "to take immediate steps to boycott the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, unless the Chinese regime stops engaging in and supporting serious human rights abuses against its citizens and those in the Sudan, Burma and North Korea." In introducing the legislation he said, "In 1936, Nazi Germany hosted the Olympics giving Hitler a worldwide platform to show case his fascist propaganda. It was wrong to support the Olympic venue then and it's wrong for the United States to support this prestigious event being held in a similarly fascist regime in 2008." THE SENATE
THOUGHT CRIMES PASSES - On Thursday the Senate voted 60-39 on the cloture motion for the Kennedy/Smith "Hate" Crimes Amendment #3035 to the Defense Authorization Bill. The Amendment had nothing do to with Defense and everything to do with the money homosexuals pour into the Democrat Party. Following the closure vote, the amendment was adopted by a voice vote. The Kennedy Amendment would federalize all "hate crime" as "perceived" by the victim. The Senators then agreed under unanimous consent to dispense with the cloture vote on the Hatch Amendment #3047 which passed by 96- 3, a significant change from the last vote on this measure in 2000 which was 50-49. The Hatch bill is the Republican version of Hate Crimes legislation which leaves it up to the states, and which President Bush would probably sign into law. Read Senator Hatch's remarks about Senator Kennedy's unconstitutional and unnecessary legislation.If President Bush is presented the bill containing the Kennedy Thought Crimes amendment and vetoes it, that would be the first veto in history of defense appropriations.

THE MEDIA AND MURDERERS - I was astonished to read a Time Magazine reporter's story about his "Dinner with Ahmadinejad." The tone of the article gives us a real clue as to how the American media deals with a Hitler-want-to-be such as Ahmandinejad or a Stalin-want-to-be like Hugo Chavez. THE MUSLIM WHO IS AN EPISCOPAL PRIEST - "I am both Muslim and Christian, just like I'm both an American of African descent and a woman. I'm 100 percent both," Rev. Ann Holmes Redding has told the Seattle Times. Her bishop, Rt. Rev. Vincent Warner, says he thinks the interfaith possibilities are exciting. If this sounds weird, consider the fact that the current head of the Episcopal Church was on Capitol Hill to testify before the Senate on Global warming. Besides being a pro-gay spiritual leader, she claims to be an oceanography expert. Meanwhile the "gay" Bishop, Gene Robinson, has been released from an alcohol treatment center. He said his alcohol problem came from "stress." Question: Who gave the church keys to the inmates at the funny house?

IRAQI MISSION UPDATE - The Religious Freedom Coalition fact finding mission to the Middle East will depart in mid-October. A former governor has agreed to be the political leader of the mission to investigate the condition of Iraqi Christian refugees. A well known Hollywood actress along with a professional writer have also been recruited. We are continuing to pray that all of our contacts in Lebanon will still be alive by the time we get to that nation. Many Christian leaders have been targeted by Islamic radicals for assassination before the vote for president in October. Please pray for the success of our mission.
