THE PRESIDENCY 

OBAMA: PIPELINE TOO DANGEROUS - We have all seen those haunting photos of starving kids in Africa that organizations such as Feed the Children use to raise money. Try to picture American kids looking like that. Most African poverty is caused by a lack of cheap energy. There is no power to drill wells; no power to transport water; no diesel for farming tractors; no gas for cooking; and no electricity to refrigerate and store food. An energy poor nation is a starving nation. By refusing to meet the energy needs of the American people, President Barack Obama and his leftist supporters are pointing the nation toward poverty and starvation. Obama's refusal to increase Canadian oil imports by denying a permit for the Keystone pipeline is an epoch disaster for the American people.
SANTORUM'S SURPRISE - The day Gov. Rick Perry dropped out of the race, Fox News commentators said it was really bad news for Santorum because he would now finish last behind Ron Paul. The final polls showed Rick Santorum at 9%, but on election day he nearly doubled that, decidedly defeating Ron Paul. After the departure of Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry, the only consistent conservative left in the GOP primary race is Rick Santorum. Both Gov. Mitt Romney and former Speaker Newt Gingrich had supported the same medical insurance mandates as Barack Obama. Gingrich appeared in a TV ad with radical leftist Nancy Pelosi promoting "green energy." As for Ron Paul, his foreign affairs views are to the far left of Barack Obama's.
THE GINGRICH DISASTER - This update was released late Saturday to include the results of the South Carolina GOP primary. Newt Gingrich, riding high on his attacks on the media, received 41% of the vote. The problem with this is that Newt Gingrich's views change literally by the minute and he has held far more positions on both sides of the issues than has Gov. Mitt Romney. Because I am a Washington insider and because I do know Newt Gingrich well, I can say with clarity that if he is the Republican nominee for president Barack Obama will win a second term and the Republicans will lose control of the House and drop seats in the Senate. During a second Obama term the pro-life movement will be crushed using Obama Care and the United States will become a welfare state. Religious freedom as we know it will end, with the government controlling who is hired and fired by the church and dictating what can be said from the pulpit.

PASTORS ARRESTED IN NYC - Forty-three people including pastors were arrested in the Bronx on the 13th for protesting the ban on churches renting schools for meetings. New York City is the only school district in the nation that refuses to rent auditoriums to religious groups, but it will rent them to atheists and communists. Most congregations that rented space before the ban are minority evangelicals. Read more

DEATH TOLL RISES IN NIGERIA - The death toll following coordinated bomb attacks by the Boko Haram in Kano, Nigeria on Friday and Saturday is now over 162 officially, with bodies still in the streets. Kano is mainly Muslim and the largest city in the north. The Islamic terror group Boko Haram claimed responsibility, saying the attacks were in reprisal for the government refusal to release terrorists held in jail. Police and Christians were the main targets as Islamic violence sends that nation into a state of chaos. Read more

PAKISTAN SEIZES CHURCH HOSPITAL - United Christian Hospital in Liberty Chowk and other church property in Garden Town have been seized by local government officials in Pakistan. The province of Punjab has become a living hell for Christians as another church in Garhi Shahu has been desecrated and demolished. Secretary of State Clinton has nothing but kind words to say about Pakistan and our government gives that nation billions of dollars a year. Read more

EXTREME EGYPT - The final results are in, and Islamic extremists have won 75% of the seats in the new parliament. Previously the religious parties such as the Muslim Brotherhood were outlawed. President Barack Obama led the charge to have the secular government replaced during the "Arab Spring" that was supposed to bring freedom. What it may well bring is the total elimination of rights for women and religious police to enforce Sharia law upon all, including Christians.

THE PRESIDENCY

SANTORUM SURGES AHEAD - Rasmussen, perhaps the most respected polling company in the nation, shows social conservative Senator Rick Santorum at 21% nationally. What is astonishing about the poll is that Mitt Romney's support is stuck at 29% after six straight years of campaigning for the presidency at a cost of tens of millions of dollars. Romney received 25% of the vote in the Iowa caucus this time around, and his total vote count was actually less than in 2008. GOP voters are sending a message to the establishment, "We don't want Romney." Still the inside-the-Beltway establishment is positive that they need a moderate to win in November, showing exactly how detached they are from the base.  
RON PAUL DEFENDS HAMAS - Speaking of the Gaza Strip on a state owned Iranian TV network, presidential candidate Ron Paul said, "To me, I look at it like it's a concentration camp, and people are making bombs, like, they're the aggressors?" The astonishing video is available on Yourtube. Columnist Don Feder wrote an article on Ron Paul's insane world views that this interview on Iranian TV reinforces.
HIS HIGHNESS BARACK - During the last year of the Bush Administration, Senator Harry Reid called "pro-forma" sessions of the Senate to block any recess appointees he could, and this left hundreds of federal offices and judgeships vacate in hopes a Democrat would be elected. President Bush honored the Constitution which does not allow recess appointments when the Senate is in session. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is now holding the same "pro-forma" sessions of the Senate but President Barack Obama is ignoring the Constitution and has issued recess appointments of individuals to the National Labor Relations Board who are radically pro-union. This is vote buying at its worst.

PRAYER CAUCUS SUMMARY - The Congressional Prayer Caucus founded by Congressman Randy Forbes took numerous actions in 2011 to defend religious expression and religious liberty in 2011. ISLAMIC WAR CAMPS IN AMERICA - A radical jihadist group responsible for nearly 50 attacks on American soil is operating 35 terrorist training camps across the nation, but the U.S. government refuses to include the organization on the State Department's list of foreign terrorists. Jamaat ul-Fuqra, known in the U.S. as "Muslims of America," has purchased or leased hundreds of acres of property - from New York to California - in which the leader, Sheikh Mubarak Gilani, boasts of conducting "the most advanced training courses in Islamic military warfare." INTERNATIONAL 

CRY FOR NIGERIA - Earlier today I began to write about the six killed at a Thursday church service. Pastor Johnson Jauro's wife and five others were killed when Muslim gunmen fired into the Deeper Life Church in Gombe during a prayer service. But the story has since become more tragic. As people gathered to mourn the dead today in Adamawa state, four Muslim gunmen surrounded the building they were in and opened fire with Kalashnikov rifles. At least 20 Christians were killed and and another 15 seriously wounded. The story will probably be reported as "ethnic violence" by liberal outlets such as the Washington Post although the attacks were the work of the Boko Haram . In America the liberal media defends radical Islam and its imposition of Sharia law worldwide. Read more  
"MODERATE" INDONESIA - Acts of violence and intolerance against Christians in Indonesia almost doubled in 2011, with an Islamist campaign to close down churches symbolizing the plight of the religious minority. The Indonesian Protestant Church Union, locally known as PGI, counted 54 acts of violence and other violations against Christians in 2011, up from 30 in 2010. Read more

PRESIDENCY 
OBAMA SUPPORTS THOSE TRASHING WALL STREET - "I think it expresses the frustrations that the American people feel," the President told NBC news. "People are frustrated and the protesters are giving voice to a more broad-based frustration about how our financial system works." The demonstrators, many whom have been arrested for trespassing and destruction of property, have trashed the small park near the financial center once enjoyed by children. Vice President Biden called those destroying property and blocking traffic an "answer" to the Tea party. Read more 
CAIN, BAUCHMANN AND SANTORUM - Any of the above will do. That was the message to three of the GOP contenders who spoke at the Values Voter Summitc this weekend. All three were interrupted by applause over and over again as they spoke on Friday. While Herman Cain was the star of the show with the most media coverage, both Bachmann and Santorum did well. Response to Gov. Rick Perry was muted and Ron Paul's libertaran views unappreciated.
RON PAUL WINS VALUES VOTERS POLL? - Well, not really. Ron Paul did top the list with 37% but Slate reported that one of his wealthy donors from Texas arranged to pay for 700 tickets. Ron Paul supporters showed up for his speech, voted in the straw poll and left. His actually vote count was 732 of nearly 2,000 cast. The real winner was Herman Cain with 23% and former Senator Rick Santorum with 16%. Receiving double the number of votes that Michele Bachmann received was a huge boost for the Santorum campaign. Michele secured first place in the Vice Presidential straw poll.
THE CONGRESS
RUBIO BLASTS IRAN ON PASTOR DEATH SENTENCE - Senator Marco Rubio took to the floor of the United States Senate this week to blast the government of Iran for the death sentence handed to Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani in Iran. Detailing the charges and evidence in this horrific case, he pointed out that Nadarkhani's only real crime was converting from Islam at age 19 and for that he will be killed. Watch on Youtube!

CONGRESSMAN FORBES ON IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER - Congressman Forbes, on behalf of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, gave a speech on the House floor today to note the importance of prayer in our nation's founding and subsequent history. He read portions of a proclamation issued by John Hancock as Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Hancock issued the proclamation in 1791, declaring a day of public thanksgiving throughout Massachusetts. Watch the video here.

CONGRESSMAN EXPOSES GROVER NORQUIST - October 5, 2011 - In a speech on October 4th, Congressman Frank Wolf expressed concern about Grover Norquist's influence on the political process in Washington and his association with several individuals, groups and causes many would consider unsavory. Wolf questioned Norquist's relationship with convicted felon Jack Abramoff and terrorist financiers Abdurahman Alamoudi and Sami Al-Arian. He also raised the issue of Norquist's advocacy of moving Guantanamo Bay detainees to the United States, including 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed. His representation of the Internet gambling industry and Fannie Mae as a consultant was also questioned. Although Grover Norquist's associations with radical Muslims and other questionable characters has been discussed online, this is the first time the evidence has been detailed by a congressman.

VALUES VOTERS EMBRACE ANTI-SHARIA CONFERENCE - The Preserving Freedom Conference to be held in Nashville on the Constitution or Sharia was highlighted at a booth at the Values Voter Summit and was a center of attention. Hundreds of those attending the Values Voter Summit signed on for weekly newsletters. Several news media outlets both from here and Europe stopped to interview us about the upcoming convention.
