PERSECUTION OF CHRISTIANS - This week a new editorial I wrote about the violence against Christians has appeared in newspapers and at major Internet news sites. Please help distribute this important article which exposes Muslim violence and the ridiculous claim of "Islamophbia."

OBAMA AND TERRORIST FACTS- On New Year's Eve a bomb exploded in front of a Coptic Christian Church in Alexandria, Egypt and the immediate response from President Obama was to create imaginary Muslim victims. In his statement he said, "I strongly condemn the separate and outrageous terrorist bombing attacks in Egypt and Nigeria. The attack on a church in Alexandria, Egypt caused 21 reported deaths and dozens of injured from both the Christian and Muslim communities." There were no Muslims killed or injured in the blast. The Voice of the Copts reported that there were 45 dead, not 21. Obama is so fearful of offending Muslims that even when they commit heinous crimes he tries to cast them as the victims.
THE CONGRESS
OATH ON OLDEST AMERICAN BIBLE - Congressman Robert Aderholt (R-AL)) was sworn in this week by Speaker John Boehner in a truly historic way. Aderholt took his official oath-of-office on the very first Bible ever printed in America. Called the "Eliot Bible," it was published in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1663 under the title "The Holy Bible Containing the Old Testament and the New." Aderholt was the only Member to use the Eliot Bible for the oath of office. The Bible was translated into the Algonquian Indian language by John Eliot for his missionary efforts among Native Americans. The congressman and his family are pictured with Speaker Boehner.
THE GAVEL CHANGES HANDS - It is now Speaker Boehner's and the ramifications are huge for social conservatives. As was former speaker Nancy Pelosi, Speaker Boehner is a Roman Catholic; however there are key differences. Unlike Pelosi, Speaker Boehner is allowed by bishops and priests to celebrate the sacrament, as he is 100% pro-life, Many bills on social conservative issues that Pelosi refused to allow on the floor for a vote, should now be allowed. In addition, this coming December we can look forward to a congressional Christmas tree rather than a "holiday" tree.

COURT BANS WAR MEMORIAL - The Mt. Soledad War Memorial has at its center a cross, and for 20 years it has been the goal of atheists and the ACLU to make sure this memorial to those who lost their lives fighting for our freedom is torn down. Now the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, known broadly as the Nutty Ninth, has order the cross to be removed. Congressman Duncan Hunter Jr., who has served in both Afghanistan and Iraq, was quick to call on Attorney General Holder to defend the memorial saying, "The Ninth Circuit's decision is a disservice to these men and women and blatantly ignores the Memorial's proud history as a symbol of military service. I'm confident the Memorial will remain intact as the judicial process proceeds, but it's important the federal government does whatever it can to defend the Memorial and ensure it remains untouched." CULTURAL CENTER UNDER CONSTRUCTION NOW! - Mayor Bloomberg claims that the "Muslim community center" at Ground Zero is desperately needed as a community center for lower Manhattan. The Cordoba Initiative and the developer, Sharif El-Gamal, say the 15-story Muslim Center will fill a need for meeting halls, dorms, recreational facilities and swimming pools in the area. However, there is a $73 million, 60,000-square foot community center under construction just a few blocks away that may open as early as the end of this year. TAKING HIS SHOW ON THE ROAD - The slumlord imam and Ground Zero mosque promoter, Feisal Rauf, has decided to take his show on the road starting with the Muslim community in Detroit. He will then be paid huge fees by radical universities such as Harvard, Yale, Georgetown and the University of North Carolina to promote the Ground Zero mosque. To "protect him" the meetings are closed to all those who may disagree with him. Question: Why isn't this done for Ann Coulter when she speaks at colleges?

MURDER OF A SECULARIST - In Muslim nations it is often the secularists who are true heroes fighting Islamic oppression. Salman Taseer, the governor of Punjab province in Pakistan, was gunned down by his own body guard for his courageous criticism of Pakistan's blasphemy law. It is this law that was used to sentence Asia Bibi, a Christian, to death. No statement on Taseer's assassination was issued by the White House. The independent US Commission on International Religious Freedom did condemn the slaying and stated, "We urge Pakistan to eliminate its blasphemy law, which impedes freedom of religion and belief and can only weaken its internal security and stability.'
PRAYERS FOR THE KILLER, NOT THE VICTIM - Supporters of Salman Taseer's killer, Mumtaz Qadri, gathered at the court in Islamabad. As he was taken by the crowd, they hugged him and showered him with rose petals to show their support for his murderous act. More than 500 scholars of the Jamaat-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat signed a letter telling Muslims not to offer the funeral prayers for Governor Punjab Salman Taseer nor to mourn his death saying, "There should be no expression of grief or sympathy on the death of the governor, as those who support blasphemy of the Prophet are themselves indulging in blasphemy." These scholars are considered to be "moderate" Muslim leaders by Western standards.
IRAN ARRESTS CHRISTIANS ON CHRISTMAS DAY - The Iranian government has arrested more than 70 Christians in the past two weeks including 25 that were arrested in the early morning hours of Christmas Day. Most of those arrested were in Tehran Province where the governor, Morteza Tamaddon, said "the leaders of this movement have been arrested in Tehran province and more will be arrested in the near future." He called those arrested "tabshiri" which means missionaries and said that "their conspiracy was unveiled quickly and the first blows were delivered to them. Because Iran is a closed Islamic society without civilized rule, it is difficult to obtain information on those arrested or their condition.
THIS WAS THE HOME OF ANNE FRANK - Before the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, there were 140,000 Jews there. Today the number is decreasing rapidly because of antisemitism as the number of Muslims grow. There are now just 30,000 Jews in the Netherlands while the Muslim population is estimated at more than 500,000, and this has caused some very public crimes such as the beatings of rabbis on the street. There is probably a Jewish exodus in Detroit, Michigan as the Muslim population grows along with its inherent antisemitism.

CHRISTMAS UNDER RONALD REAGAN - Just 30 years ago an American President sat in the Oval Office and broadcast a Christmas message to the American people, something that has not been done in very many years. During the short message Reagan talks of the birth of the new born King. It is well worth the three minutes to watch at Youtube.
OBAMA'S FIRST STEP TO CENSORSHIP - THE FCC has seized the Internet and this will lead to the control of content on cable TV and just about no one really understands what has happened. The FCC's is authorized by Congress to regulate broadcasts over "public airways" and has never had the authority to control content of anything transmitted privately over land lines. Cable TV and the Internet is a private contract between the provider and the purchaser and that is why pornography can be transmitted. But, Obama is after FOX News and conservatives on the Internet and the only way to eventually silence them is for the FCC to control the Internet and cable TV. When the FCC this week declared "Net Neutrality" it was doing far more than allowing Netflix to use the broadband space of ATT and Verizon without paying, it was a declaration that the FCC controls the lines that carry materials to your home, both Internet and cable.

THE QUEEN HAS LEFT THE CASTLE - Queen Pelosi departed Capitol Hill this week and took her last flight on the luxurious Boeing 757 the Air Force has provided for her to fly to San Francisco each week for the last four years. The large cabinet filled with expensive whiskeys has been removed from the jet and it has been returned to military service. The new Speaker of the House, John Boehner, has said that he will continue to fly commercially to Washington, DC as he has in the past. Maybe next year under Speaker Boehner the Congressional Christmas Tree will be back replacing Queen Pelosi's "holiday tree."

FEDS TO BANK: GET RID OF CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS -About every four years Federal Reserve examiners make visits to banks to make sure they are complying with a laundry list of regulations. This year the examiners visited a small local bank in Perkins, Oklahoma and were dismayed to find a sign that said, "Merry Christmas, God With Us." The feds ordered that all Christmas decorations that referred to God and a daily Scripture at the banks Internet site be removed. More than anything this reveals that the federal government and its many agencies lean toward hiring intolerant liberals. Congressman Randy Forbes (R-VA) and 37 other Member of the Prayer Caucus wrote a letter to Chairman Bernanke questioning the authority of the Federal Reserve to take this action.

BLOOMBERG SECRETLY ASSISTED MOSQUE - Liberals like Mayor Michael Bloomberg are for strict separation of church and state if a church is involved, but when it comes to the Ground Zero mosque the "wall of separation" crumbles. Bloomberg's office helped Ground Zero mosque organizers numerous times and even intervened with city administrators to obtain temporary prayer service permits at the location. A member of Bloomberg staff actually wrote one letter for Daisy Khan, Imam Feisal Rauf's wife. Just imagine the outrage by the hard left if a Republican mayor in any city would have an assistant ghostwrite a letter for an evangelical church to help it obtain permits!
The documents revealing Bloomberg's heavy handed assistance for the Ground Zero mosque and those associated with it were released as a result of a lawsuit by Judicial Watch. The suit had to be filed because Bloomberg's office refused to comply with the law and release the materials. The documents also revealed that Mayor Bloomberg accepted money from the those associated with Imam Rauf to hold a Ramadan dinner at his official residence. More at no911mosque.org

CHRISTMAS CANCELED IN IRAQ - As Americans open their brightly decorated boxes of Chinese made junk this Christmas morning, Christians in Iraq will be praying that they live to the end of the day. There will be no Christmas decorations, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day services in Iraq. Even an appearance by Santa Claus has been canceled. Christian leaders called off Christmas celebrations all over Iraq because of continue Islamic threats of terror. Dozens of Christians have already been killed this year and the exodus of Christians from Iraq has escalated. At last the media has begun to pay attention to the devastation done to Christians in Iraq after ignoring the terror they have gone through for the past eight years.

VIRGINIA ONE, OBAMA ZERO - The Commonwealth of Virginia has defeated Obama Care in a Federal Court. State Attorney General Kenneth T. Cuccinelli proved his case that forcing Virginians to purchase a product against their will was unconstitutional. A similar case with additional constitutional questions brought by twenty other states attorneys general is now being held before a federal court in Florida. Without mandated insurance coverage the entire Obama Care system fails.
THE CONGRESS
DEMS GO DOWN IN FLAMES - Senator Reid and President Obama had a secret plan to increase spending despite an agreement with Republican leaders. At the last minute before the government had to shut down, an Omnibus Bill was to be added to the agreement spending hundreds of billions of dollars. Even earmarks for Republicans were added. Under the plan Republicans would fold, and the spending would be bragged about by Senator Reid and President Obama and victory would be theirs. EXCEPT: Under pressure from voters Republicans did not fold and refused to vote for the billions of dollars in pork added by Senator Reid. This may be a watershed event in the Congress that could lead to reduced spending. We can only hope.
CUTTING SPENDING IS THE ONLY HOPE - My job as chairman of the Religious Freedom Coalition takes me to Capitol Hill almost daily where I am exposed to both heroes and scoundrels, crucial legislation and minutia. I have a simple observation; Our government cannot continue to borrow 40 cents of every dollar it spends without going broke sooner rather than later. The spending is so out of control that no amount of additional taxes can balance the budget. There is only one answer, spending must be cut. Americans agree with me, as long as it is not their benefits that are cut. That has to end, we are all going to have to give up something to save the nation.
HELP IS ON THE WAY - In January dozens of new faces will come to Capitol Hill and most of them are real conservatives. Among them are men such as Col Alan West who I supported for two runs for the House. Two years ago he lost, this time he won. The incumbent he ran against criticized him for his statements on Islam. I applaud Col. West for telling the truth about Islam, a truth he is bringing o Washington, DC. Viewing his one minute clip on Islamic attacks is a must for all Christians. See at Youtube!

JUSTICE SUES SCHOOL: GIVE MUSLIMS SPECIAL RIGHTS - The Justice Department sued a Chicago-area school district because it would not give a Muslim teacher three weeks off to go on a religious pilgrimage to Mecca in 2008. (NOTE: The teacher was hired in 2007.) Safoorah Khan's request for three weeks off during the school year to make the hajj was "not related to her professional duties," and as a result should have been allowed says the Justice Department. Would the Justice Department have filed the lawsuit on behalf of a Christian desiring a pilgrimage to the Garden Tomb? Of course not. CHRISTIAN ORNAMENTS FOR CHRISTMAS? What a novel idea ... BLOOMBERG SUED BY JUDICIAL WATCH - Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it has filed a petition with the New York State Supreme Court to compel New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's office to comply with a Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request regarding contacts between the Mayor's office, Ground Zero Mosque Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, and controversial Muslim organizations. IMAM RAUF - A TIME MAGAZINE MAN? - Time Magazine listed Imam Faisal Rauf as one of its candidates for "Person of the Year." In the short bio at Time Magazine it is not mentioned that Rauf is a slum landlord who has had buildings taken over by courts for the protection of the tenets. Time says that all of the opponents of a Ground Zero mosque are from the "right," which of course, is a flat out lie. It appears that truth does not matter much to at Time any longer.

PAKISTANI PASTOR SET ON FIRE - Each year the United States gives billions of dollars to Pakistan. Has this money caused positive change in Pakistan? On November 22nd Pastor Wilson Augustine was attacked by six Muslims who accused him of evangelism. After beating him and dragging him in the street they poured fuel on him and set him on fire leaving him for dead. It was a miracle that he was found by Christians and taken to a hospital. A month later he is still recovering. A police report was filed, but the the leader of the gang is the son of a wealthy Muslim land owner and as a result no action was taken.
USCIRF: PROTECT IRAQI CHRISTIANS - Just prior to the December 15th meeting of the UN Security Council on Iraq, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) urged the U.S. government to address the grave situation facing Iraqi Christians. In a clear appeal the USCIRF requested the UN and the Iraqi government to "provide protection." The USCRIF news release noted that "The smallest Iraqi religious groups-including ChaldoAssyrian, Syriac, and other Christians; Sabean Mandaeans; and Yazidis-face targeted violence, including murders and attacks on their places of worship and religious leaders, intimidation, and forced displacement; they also experience discrimination, marginalization, and neglect. As a result, these ancient communities' very existence in the country is now threatened."
SUICIDE BOMBING IN SWEDEN - Sweden has long swung open its doors to Muslim immigrants and accepted more Iraqi refugees after Saddam Hussein's fall than any other Western nation. A full 5% of Sweden's population is now Muslim. Sweden's reward? Am Islamic suicide bomber in the heart of Stockholm injuring several but fortunately only killing the bomber. The bomber's main complaint seemed to be a Swedish cartoonist putting the head of Mohammad on a dog. Reality: The Muslim population has reached the point that violence can now be used to intimidate as is frequently done in the UK.
