THANK YOU SENATOR INHOFE! - In a rare display of courage, Senator Jim Inhofe has refused to participate in the annual parade in Tulsa, Oklahoma because Christmas was removed from the title and replaced with "holiday." Inhofe said, "I am hopeful that the good people of Tulsa and the city's leadership will demand a correction to this shameful attempt to take Christ, the true reason for our celebration, out of the parade's title. PRESIDENCY 

IDEOLOGY RATHER THAN PEOPLE - What is needed in the White House is a politician, not an idealist, and Barack Obama is the proof. A politician cares about votes because he wants to stay in office and he wants his political party to stay in power. On the other hand, an idealist such as President Obama continues down a path of destruction for the nation regardless of the people's needs or desires. This week Obama barred drilling for oil off the Atlantic Coast. He also barred drilling in the eastern part of the Gulf, even in shallow water. Also, by using the EPA, which is under the president's control, Obama has seen to it that no permits for new coal mines have been issued and permits for nuclear power plants have been slowed down. His answer to the economic problems of the nation seems to be sending more jobs to China and handing out welfare and unemployment checks to Americans, with money borrowed from China. What is needed by the American people is an occupant in the White House in 2013 who pays attention to the needs of the people, not some fantasy of "green jobs" and wealth redistribution.
 

THE CONGRESS 

CONGRESS RETURNS TO DO WHAT? - The House and Senate returned this Monday from the "holiday break," (known as Thanksgiving to the rest of America) and Republican leaders met with President Obama. Several very nice group photos resulted from the meeting, but nothing meaningful as far as policy. Obama still wants to punish those who are productive with higher taxes, apparently completely unaware of the fact that they create jobs. HARRY REID OPENS THE SENATE - Here it is, the opening statement of Senator Harry Reid, the majority leader of the Senate upon the occasion of the Senate being reconvened after the Thanksgiving break. It is a five minute diatribe about the University of Nevada beating Idaho State University in a football game! Shortly after this he called the Republicans "obstructionists" and blamed them for the fact that legislation was not being passed.

CULTURE AND RELIGION 

DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL - Organizations representing more than 40 million people, plus conservative politicians such as Gov. Sarah Palin signed a letter to all 100 Senators asking that the current law which does not allow homosexuals to serve openly in the military, should be left in place. (I was one of the signatories to the letter.) Before the letter was delivered and before there was a vote in Congress on the issue, the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff, Admiral Mullen, said anyone who did not want to serve with openly homosexual soldiers could find another job. PENALIZED FOR GIVING GOD THE CREDIT - A high school football player's team in Tacoma, Washington was penalized 15 years because be bowed and pointed to the Lord after he scored a touchdown. Running back Ronnie Hastie said,"It's just something I do every time I get in the end zone." he said he did it, "To honor my Lord because I play for him. I give him the glory because he's the one that gives me the strength."

NO 911 MOSQUE!

SHARIF EL-GAMAL IS NBC "PERSON OF THE YEAR" - NBC News has named Ground Zero mosque developer Sharif el-Gamal as their "Person of the Year." The announcement by NBC came the same week that it was learned that el-Gamal had requested tax dollars from a 9/11 reconstruction fund whose purpose was to help rebuild Ground Zero after the 9-11 jihad attack. So far this year this NBC "Person of the Year" and his company, Soho Properties, have been sued by the Valley National Bank for $95,778 plus interest on a credit line on which he defaulted. In addition El-Gamal's company moved out of its headquarters in the middle of the night just as his landlord began eviction proceedings. According to the landlord, El-Gamal was delinquent to the tune of $39,000 in back rent. As for the site of the proposed mosque itself, El-Gamal failed to pay $270,000 in back taxes. He has now signed an agreement for a payment plan with the city, but if he can't pay his rent where will the money come from to pay the taxes?

El-Gamal claims that he had problems in his "youth" but not after he became closer to Islam after the 9/11 jihad attack. Yet, just five years ago in 2005 El-Gamal broke the nose and cheekbone of a renter who owed him money. When he was arrested, El-Gamal denied he socked the renter, Mark Vassiliev, but later in court said, "[Vassiliev's] face could have run into my hand." He has a long history of thuggery that includes seven arrests. Those arrests include DUI, disorderly conduct and soliciting a prostitute.

El-Gamal sent a message on Twitter that said, "When you beat up someone physically you get exercise & stress relief; when you assault him verbally on the web you just harm yourself." That sums up Sharif el-Gamal, typical Muslim thug and NBC "person of the year."  
ANOTHER BANK SUES MOSQUE MAN - Citi Bank has filed a lawsuit against Sharif el-Gamal, the Ground Zero mosque developer who was recently named an NBC "person of the year." His real estate firm, which is the real owner of the property where the mosque is to be built, was also named in the lawsuit. The bank says that he and his company have failed to pay back $99,489 borrowed on business credit line. This is the second bank this year to file against el-Gamal. Earlier Valley National Bank filed a suit for more than $95,000. El-Gamal has made a statement that refusing to pay legal debts is a "standard" business practice used to negotiate better terms, and yes, dishonest men often do use that tactic. Honest men, however, pay their debts.

INTERNATIONAL 

BIBI STILL TO BE EXECUTED - Over the past few months there have been ups and downs in the trial of Asia Bibi, who was sentenced to death on the accusation of blasphemy. (She was never allowed to testify on her own behalf.) Because of Western media pressure Pakistan's president pardoned her, but the Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, Khawaja Sharif, has now barred President Asif Ali Zardari from pardoning Asia Bibi. She is still sentenced to death. Oddly, American liberals point to the Pakistani Constitution guarantees of freedom of religion as proof that a Muslim nation can be moderate; however, a separate article of their Constitution states that all laws must conform to Islamic sharia law.  
UN SAYS RACHEL'S TOMB IS A MOSQUE - The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has declared that two of Judaism's most holy sites in Israel - are mosques! One is the site of Rachel's Tomb, and the other one, known to Jews as the Cave of the Patriarchs, is believed to be the burial site of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and three of their wives. The US State Department had already attacked Israel verbally for listing the two sites as part of "Jewish cultural heritage." This story has received virtually no coverage in US media, not even from Fox. Read more
CHRISTIANS KILLED BY COPS IN EGYPT - (Please note: Every week there are dozens of attacks on Christians in Islamic nations and all of the attacks, even the fatal ones, cannot all be reported here. Each week I pick one or two attacks to highlight the overall problem.) This past week Egyptian security forces used live ammunition against unarmed Coptic Christians protesters. Three men were killed and many others were wounded. A four-year old child also died from tear gas inhalation from a grenade tossed into a chapel. The Christians were peacefully protesting an attack by authorities against a community center which was under construction. Egyptian police say the community center had a room for prayer that was contrary to the building permit. In Egypt no church may be built without personal permission of President Mabarak.
NEW ZEALAND BANS KOSHER MEAT - New Zealand is a huge lamb and beef producer and sells millions of pounds of its products to Muslim nations each year. On the other hand there are only a few Jews in that nation. The result? New Zealand has banned the production of Kosher meats to appease its Muslim customers. It is the first nation to ban kosher products since the Nazi government of Germany. Read more
