THE PRESIDENCY

OBAMA'S POLL NUMBERS DROP HARD - -According to Rasmussen's daily tracking polls, Barack Obama had an approval rating of 65% on January 21st. That has now dropped to just 48%. Not only do 52% disapprove of his performance as president, but those that "strongly disapprove" outnumber those who "strongly approve." As of today only 28% "strongly approve" of Barack Obama's performance as president, while 39% "strongly disapprove." In the "strongly" category he is at a minus 11 points! Most of this is due to his extreme positions on abortion, homosexuality, environmentalism and socialized health care.

HOW NUTS ARE OBAMA'S CZARS? - Obama's science czar made the proclamation that sometime after a baby is born it "will ultimately develop into a human being." John P. Holdren, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, not only believes that unborn babies are not human beings, be doesn't even believe babies are human beings after birth. Read more To make matters worse, Barack Obama has appointed many "czars" to oversee a wide range of issues including health and energy. Congressman Jack King (R-GA) has prepared an interesting video on "Czarist America."

THE CONGRESS

MORALITY AND TAXES - Ways and Means Chairman Charlie Rangel, is leading the charge for a new 5.4-percent income tax surcharge. He calls it "the moral thing to do." However, his own morality when it comes to taxes is in question.

Rangel purchased a rental property in 1987 at the Punta Cana Yacht Club in the Dominican Republic. Thing is, Mr. Rangel has apparently not been reporting rental income from the luxury beach-front villa. The villa is rented out most of the year at $500 a night in the low season and over $1,000 a night in the high season. For the years 2004 and 2005, he reported no more than $5,000 in rental income per year, and in 2006 and 2007 no income at all from the property.

Chairman Rangel also reported a home in Washington, DC as his primary residence, instead of his home in New York, to escape property taxes. He rents four apartments for himself in New York at special "controlled" rates that were intended to allow those in poverty to be able to hold on to apartments in that expensive city. He is considered a "hardship" case to receive the rates. He maintains an office in one of the apartments which is against the "rent control" rules.

When Rangel leaves Congress, we will pay him a six figure retirement figure each year while he lounges in his villa in the Dominican Republic. But don't worry, he is making sure that you and I pay our fair share of taxes to support him. Congressman Rangel has a leading role in increasing taxes to pay for Barack Obama's extreme socialist agenda. See WSJ editorial

HATE CRIMES "AMENDMENT - There was no way to stop the Thought Crimes legislation pushed by radical Democrats in Congress .... BUT ... Senator Sam Brownback was able to add an amendment in the Senate to protect religious speech. Without his amendment it could literally be against the law to quote the Bible on issues of homosexuality. The Brownback amendment was agreed to by an overwhelming majority of the Senate, with a vote of 78-13. Although passed in the Senate, his amendment is not in the House version of the bill. That means it is up to a House-Senate conference committee to decide if it will be in the final bill. Because "Hate Crimes" legislation was attached to a defense authorization bill it is important to contact members of the House Armed Services Committee, both Democrat and Republican, on this issue. THE AUGUST RECESS - The House should adjourn today for their annual August recess. The Senate should adjourn next Friday. Most congressmen will spend most of the recess in their districts holding "town-hall' meetings and raising funds for their reelections next year. We can only pity the 56 "blue dog" Democrats in the House who were elected in conservative districts. Most have voted for the extreme radical agenda placed before them by Speaker Nancy Pelosi. They must face the fact that the "health reform" pushed by Democrat leaders uses tax dollars not only to pay for abortions, but for the extremely expensive sex change operations for the mentally unstable.

CULTURE AND RELIGION

BROTHELS IN RHODE ISLAND - Salon 657 is located in Middleton, Rhode Island behind the Gateway Barber Shop at 657 W. Main Road. It is located next to a pizzeria and family restaurant, Tito's Cantina.

Salon 657 advertises in the "adult entertainment" section of the Providence Phoenix. Services offered are $100 per hour, which includes "a complementary cocktail. Make no mistake; this is not a massage parlor, it is a brothel. Prostitution is legal in two states, Nevada and Rhode Island. There are numerous brothels in Rhode Island including Spa81 in Providence. While the two I mentioned offer "American women," most are operated by Asians and the prostitutes are most likely forcibly trafficked. The legality of prostitution in this small state has only come to light recently after a prosecuting attorney there agreed to allow 16 year old girls to perform in strip clubs -- as long as they got off work by 11:00 PM on school nights! THE PRESIDENCY

OBAMA SAYS THE WHITE COP IS STUPID -Can you just imagine the outrage if a black cop had arrested a white man in his home, and President George W. Bush, without checking the facts of the case, had called the black cop "stupid?" For weeks the mainstream media would have displayed screaming headlines calling Bush a racist. However, that is exactly what Barack Obama did on national TV. Without knowing any details, he sided with a black man who had been arrested by a white cop and called the white cop "stupid." This pretty much shows the racial bias of Obama. He sees everything through color and gender filters. "This post has to be filled by a woman and this post needs to be filled by a Hispanic," is now the thinking behind White House appointments. There is no such thing as searching for the best person for the job in the Obama Administration. Individuals such as Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor are picked not for qualifications, but because of race and gender. WHY OBAMA CARE IS DEAD FOR NOW - The White House political machine is run by Rahm Israel Emanuel, who is Obama's Chief of Staff. His plan was to "flood" the Congress with Obama's full agenda all at once. He believed that hitting with the Stimulus, Cap and Trade, Health "reform," and gay issues all at once would overwhelm the Republicans and there would be instant victory. It didn't work. So much change so fast and without deliberation, scared the general public, particularly Independent voters, so much that the plan backfired. Now, virtually all of Obama's agenda is dead in the water. Although "Cap and Trade" passed the House, it is dead in the Senate. Meanwhile Senator Harry Reid has announced that he can't move forward with the "Health Reform." In the House, many of Obama's grand plans are stuck in committee with even Democrats afraid to vote for them because of the outcry from constituents back home. IMAM CALLS ON "PRESIDENT HUSSEIN" TO SAY JEWS RESPONSIBLE FOR 9-11 -This is not something off the wall ... this is a major imam in an Islamic nation who refers to Obama as President Hussein. He insists that "President Hussein" examine the documents of 9-11, where the imam says there is proof it was a Jewish conspiracy. No aircraft were used, according to him, and the buildings were booby trapped. Sadly, most of the Islamic world believes this nonsense. See clip

STIMULUS MONEY AT WORK - The Department of Agriculture spent well over one million dollars of "stimulus" money to buy 760,000 pounds of ham. That breaks out to about $1.50 a pound. Ham can be bought retail at just about any supermarket in America for under $1.00, Locally in supermarkets it is usually at around 79 cents a pound. No, I don't know what the ham was used for, but I'll bet it wasn't shipped to GITMO. Anyway, the expenditure for ham is not as bad as it could be, when one considers that $541,199 went to install one traffic light. Sort of gives you an idea of why no jobs are being created with the "Stimulus" funds.

THE CONGRESS

WHY DID GOP FUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD? - Last week I reported that a powerful Republican leader, Congressman Mike Pence (R-IN) had offered an amendment to the appropriations bill that funds the Dept. of Health and Human Services (HHS). The amendment offered by Rep. Pence would end the funding of Planned Parenthood of America. (See his floor speech) Immediately I received dozens of e-mails pointing out that although the Republicans controlled the House for 12 years, no effort was made during that time to defund Planned Parenthood. In fact, when the Republicans controlled the House, the Senate and the White House they continued to fund Planned Parenthood. Is the GOP talk about conservative social values all for show? If social conservatives help them win next November, will the Republicans go back to their old habits of giving Planned Parenthood and ACORN money every year? Maybe you should ask Congressman Pence Note: The amendment failed today.

AN EXCITED GOP? - In the last five days I have met with Minority Leader John Boehner twice. I have also met with GOP House Conference Chair Mike Pence and several other congressmen and Senators. I can honestly say that the depression that followed the election of Barack Obama last fall has been replaced by a "we can do it" attitude. I have not seen the social conservatives in Congress this mobilized in some time.

THEY WANT TO KILL US ALL - At one meeting I attended this week, Minority Leader John Boehner said about the voters attending the tea parties held across the nation, "They want to kill us all." He continued that, "They think all of us up here need to get booted out. We need to convert that activism to kicking out just the Democrats." The GOP leadership may finally be getting the message. If they want back in office they are going to have to at least act like they are conservative.

CULTURE AND RELIGION

CALIFORNIA SCHOOLS SAY ISLAM TREATS WOMEN EQUALLY TO MEN - And that is just he beginning of the nonsense. In California's public schools, more time is spent on Islam than on any other religion, and most of what is taught is Islamic propaganda written by "scholars" on the payroll of the Saudi government. Because of the concerns parents have expressed about what is being taught, the California public schools have put the teaching of Islam under review. Read more

WALTER CRONKITE A MAN WE COULD TRUST? - Most Americans alive today do not even remember newsman Walter Cronkite. But to read his obituary, you would think he was the only man in the news business that was even handed and universally trusted. However, I am old enough to remember him. Cronkite favored a one world government financed by global taxes. He said the US should renounce "some of its sovereignty." DESECRATED CHRISTIAN CEMETERIES - On Thursday I attended a briefing on the continued destruction of Christian churches and other sites in Turkish occupied northern Cyprus. Because Turkey was a Cold War ally of the West, Europe and America have turned a blind eye to the ethnic cleansing of northern Cyprus since the 1974 invasion of the island republic by Turkey. Since the invasion, the Turkish military has allowed more than 40,000 ancient icons and frescoes to he stripped from Christian sites and sold in Europe and the United States. Buyers of the stolen items seem to have no guilt or remorse. At this week's briefing on this issue, the panel was moderated by former US Ambassador to Cyprus Donald Bandler. Read more

MORE CHURCHES BOMBED IN BAGHDAD - Since July 11th, at least seven churches have been bombed in Baghdad and at least 4 Christians killed and more than 30 injured. CNN reports six churches and my sources report as many as twelve. Congressman Frank Wolf of Virginia has written a strong letter to Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki concerning the lack of protection of Christians in Iraq. See Rep. Wolf letter

THE PRESIDENCY

OBAMA TO BRING PALESTINIAN MUSLIMS TO U.S. - There are hundreds of thousands of Christian Iraqis who have been forced from their homes in Iraq. They are refugees, some living in rural areas of Iraq in shacks, and others in poor conditions in Jordan and Syria. They are not welcome here, but the 1,350 Palestinian Muslims who worked with dictator Saddam Hussein are being given special treatment and resettled in southern California. The Obama Administration claims it will bring about 17,000 other Iraqi refugees into the U.S. this year; however, that figure is in doubt. Because our government allows Muslim employees of the United Nations to pick the refugees who get to come to the USA, virtually none will be persecuted Christians. Read JP story.

'ISLAMIC EMPIRE" IN OBAMA'S HOME TOWN - For years, a global Sunni network with reported ties to Al Quaeda has operated in the shadows in the United States. Now, with Obama in the White House, this network called Hizb ut-Tahrir, will host a conference in his home town of Chicago. The conference on July 19th is entitled "The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam," and will be at a Hilton hotel in a suburb of Chicago. Read at Fox News

OBAMA'S SIGNING STATEMENT MADNESS - When a president signs a bill into law he may add a signing statement telling how he intends to implement the law. Obama has made a practice of saying in his signing statements that he intends to ignore provisions in the law. This practice has become so flagrant that even the far left homosexual Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA) is now angry. Concerning Obama's signing statement on a war supplemental bill Franks' said, "There's kind of a unilateralism, an undemocratic, unreachable way about these signing statements." Obama had said he would ignore an amendment to the bill that was passed by the House. Members of the House are so outraged that they passed the amendment restricting funds to the World Bank again, this time by a margin of by 429 to 2 with support of both parties. Read more

HATE CRIMES: MCCAIN FINALLY GETS IT - The Democrat sponsored Thought Crimes legislation passed the Senate as an Amendment to the Defense Authorization Act by a margin of 63-28. The so called "Hate Crimes" legislation was criticized by perennial presidential candidate, Senator John McCain. He said, "I believe that all crimes should be vigorously prosecuted in order to protect one of our most fundamental rights - the right to be free from physical harm. And I believe that anyone who is motivated by hatred and commits a crime should be prosecuted just as vigorously as anyone who is motivated by absolute wanton disregard for life." Why didn't he speak out against the homosexual agenda while running for president? Read more

When this bill becomes law it could be used by federal prosecutors to jail pastors who preach against homosexuality, if a member of their congregation afterward assaults, even verbally, a homosexual.

"IN GOD WE TRUST" NEW LAWSUIT - Last week I reported that Congressman Dan Lungren's (R-CA) resolution to place the National Motto, "In God We Trust" in the new Capitol Visitor Center, passed the House by a wide margin. Within days of passage an atheist group, the Freedom from Religion Foundation, filed a lawsuit to stop the National Motto from being displayed in the new facility. We will watch the lawsuits progress and report further.

CONGRESSMAN SAYS NO TO PLANNED PARENTHOOD - Congressman Mike Pence (R-IN) has offered an amendment to the appropriations bill that funds the Dept. of Health and Human Services (HHS). The amendment would stop this department's Family Planning funding (Title X) from going to Planned Parenthood of America. Planned Parenthood is the largest recipient of Family Planning money and is also the largest abortion provider in America. Although Planned Parenthood is prohibited from using federal funds for abortions, the funds are used to teach young women that abortion is a normal part of sexual conduct.

CULTURE AND RELIGION

VIRGINIA COUNTY GOES MUSLIM? - Could you imagine any county in the United States holding a dinner to honor only Christians or only Jews? But Fairfax, Virginia is holding such an event for Muslims, to promote the Saudi Academy which operates there. The Saudi Academy is funded entirely by the Saudi Arabian government and teaches that democracy is an apostate religion which must be destroyed. Its graduates have been arrested on terrorism charges by Israel, and one is in a US jail convicted of planning to assassinate President George W. Bush. Read more

CONSERVATIVE GROUPS FOR SALE?

BIGGEST SECRET IN WASHINGTON - Several of the larger conservative groups have "leaders" who also operate consulting services. Frequently the clients of the consulting firms have their agendas moved forward by the associated "conservative group." On some occasions economic conservative groups just flat out ask corporations for money to assist them with promoting legislation. Recently the American Conservative Union told Federal Express that for a mere $2 million dollars, the group would assist them in fighting a union supported bill in Congress. See Politico.com for details. The demand for cash was astonishing even by Washington standards. Other economic conservative groups have accepted funds from Islamic nations or Islamic corporations. Those groups never side with social conservatives trying to stop the spread of militant Islam.

INTERNATIONAL

RELIGION OF PEACE STRIKES IN JAKARTA - Homicide bombers checked into the J.W. Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels in Jakarta and then blew themselves up simultaneously, killing at least 8 and injuring more than 50. (Graphic photo essay) This was not the first time the Marriott has been bombed. In 2003 the same hotel was bombed with scores injured and 13 dead. Oddly, hotels such as Marriott and Hilton, which are frequently bombed overseas, have no problem renting conference centers to radical Islamic groups in the United States. MORE RELIGION OF PEACE - In the last seven days, Islamic terrorists have murdered innocent civilians in: Afghanistan, China, Chechnya, Dagistan, France, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Ingushetia, Jordan, Pakistan, Somalia, and Thailand. There are probably more, but we have to rely on public lists because Western intelligence agencies, such as the CIA, don't want the public to know the full extent of the murderous rampages on a weekly basis by the "Religion of Peace". OBAMA'S STEM CELL MADNESS - Embryonic stem cells don't work. Every experiment with them has failed, yet governments spend hundreds of millions of dollars on this holy grail imagined by mad scientists. Now Barack Obama has authorized the used of federal funds for this Frankenstein type madness.

House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) spoke out against Obama's plan when he stated, "The Administration's decision to dramatically expand the number of stem cell lines derived from human embryos, and create incentives for the destruction of human life, is a provocative step beyond what the President proposed just months ago and yet another sign that he has quickly retreated from his promise to 'be a President for all Americans.' ... I urge the President to reconsider this decision and instead join Republicans in supporting bipartisan solutions such as Rep. Randy Forbes' Patients First Act, which would promote proven adult stem cell research that does not force taxpayers to aid in the destruction of human life." We commend Congressman John Boehner for speaking out as a leader on this issue.

USA SAFER WITH OBAMA IN EUROPE? - President Barack Obama is busy in Europe apologizing for the very existence of the Untied States and promising to destroy our economy and way of life by reducing "our" carbon footprint. The mainstream USA media reports on his antics in Europe as if he is a god. What does the European media think of him? One UK paper op-ed referred to him as the Loony Tunes president. Apparently some in Europe have noticed the obvious. Without his teleprompter, Obama has not much to say.

THE CONGRESS

TWO SENATORS SAY HUMAN LIFE IS SACRED - Sen. Brownback (R-KS) and Sen. Landrieu (D-LA), introduced the Human-Animal Hybrid Prohibition Act (S.1435) in July. The bill would prohibit the creation of human-animal hybrids. "This legislation works to ensure that our society recognizes the dignity and sacredness of human life," said Brownback. "Creating human-animal hybrids, which permanently alter the genetic makeup of an organism, will challenge the very definition of what it means to be human and is a violation of human dignity and a grave injustice." Commercial laboratories claim combining animal and human DBA can help create cures for various illnesses. Social conservatives see a huge moral issue. Read more

"IN GOD WE TRUST" RESOLUTION PASSES - Congressman Dan Lungren's (R-CA) resolution in the House will correct a problem in the new Capitol Visitor Center, through which everyone entering the Capitol must now pass. Although planned and built during the Bush Administration, there were no references to God in the new facility, not even the National Motto, "In God We Trust." On July 9th, House Resolution 131 was passed by a huge margin. Only the hard core socialists in the Democrat Party and Ron Paul voted against it. The full title of the bill was: Directing the Architect of the Capitol to engrave the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and the National Motto of "In God we trust" in the Capitol Visitor Center. AMERICA'S SPIRITUAL HERITAGE - There is growing support for Randy Forbes' H.Res.397, "America's Spiritual Heritage Resolution." We have 66 co-sponsors from both parties so far. This resolution details the Judeo-Christian heritage of our nation. Momentum began to build when Dr. Tom Price (R-GA), who leads the Republican Study Committee, recommended it to the group. Within 24 hours of his recommendation, twenty members of the Republican Study Committee signed on.

TAXPAYER FUNDED ABORTIONS - Congressman Todd Tiarht (R-KS) this month introduced an amendment to a funding bill to prohibit taxpayer dollars from being used to fund abortions in Washington, D.C. Tiahrt's amendment would have reinstated a 14-year-old prohibition on publicly-funded abortions that radical leftist Speaker Nancy Pelosi stripped out this year at the request of President Obama. NY TO BUY HUMAN EGGS - Cash strapped New York State is slated to spend $600 million on embryonic stem cell research. As part of the grants offered the state will pay $10,000 for women to "donate" their eggs for the research. Frankensteinish scientists claim they will one day be able to cure any decease with embryonic stem cells. With billions of dollars spent not one illness has been successfully treated by using the cells of destroyed embryos. However, dozens of deceases, some deadly, have been cured with the use of adult stem cells. Read more

ARE WE DONE WITH MICHEAL JACKSON? - I am not a pop music fan, but I am sure Michael Jackson was a terrific entertainer. He sold lots of CD's and sung to sold out shows. At one time he made a ton of money. But he was sure no civil rights hero and was probably a pervert who preferred young boys to grown women. That said I found the coverage of his death overdone and so did Congressman Peter King. (See Foxnews) At about the same time TV pitchman Billy Mays died. Billy was a conservative who loved his family and the Lord. I didn't watch the memorial for Jackson, but I did watch the memorial show for Billy Mays. Watch Billy Mays memorial show

THE MIRACLE OF AMI ORTIZ - Several times I have mentioned the bomb injuries Ami Ortiz, the son of my good friends David and Leah Ortiz who live in Ariel in the heart of Samaria. At first everyone believed the bomb was planted by Palestinian Muslims upset about the the number of converts David Ortiz had won to the Lord. It is now apparent, however, that the bombing of their apartment was perpetrated by extreme orthodox Jews upset with the converts David had won over to the Lord in the Jewish community. KIDS CELEBRATE HOMICIDE BOMB MOM - To think this is normal human activity you would have to be a Muslim. On a Hamas TV children's program called "Tomorrow's Pioneers", the two young children Michael Jackson, of female suicide terrorist Reem Riyashi watched in the studio as her murderous suicide attack on innocent people was reenacted.
